Aiming at the complex characteristics of engine fault and fuzzy boundary of fault area, a method of engine fault diagnosis based on convolution neural network and bidirectional LSTM is proposed. To explore the causes of common engine faults, a convolutional neural network feature extraction model is established, the modified linear unit is used to improve the over fitting problem of the model, and the SoftMax classifier is used to lock the fault area, and the long short-term is established Memory rural network model, the introduction of remaining life tag, using min max method to complete data preprocessing, adding a dropout layer in the bidirectional LSTM layer and full connection layer, removing the output value of hidden layer, obtaining the final fault diagnosis results, and using root mean square error and asymmetric score function to evaluate the reliability of the method. The simulation results show that the fault diagnosis has fast convergence rate, high diagnosis accuracy and strong applicability, which provides valuable technical reference for engine maintenance and maintenance. © 2023 IEEE.

Hard hearing and deaf people are communicating with other people using the sign language. This is the only way of communication of such people to convey Since this is the only means by which these individuals can communicate, it is imperative that others be able to understand their language. Sign language recognition by computer begins with the acquisition of sign gestures and ends with recognition and conversion to text or voice. Static and dynamic are the two ways of sign gestures used. This study aims at focusing on the dynamic gesture recognition and the steps for recognizing sign language are discussed. The collected data are preprocessed and feature are extracted for classification. Finally the results are all investigated and developed for single user. © 2023 IEEE.

Personalized patient representation learning (PPRL) is a critical element in clinical risk prediction. It aims to obtain a complete portrait of each patient based on Electronic Health Records (EHR). Although existing works have achieved remarkable progress in healthcare prediction, there are still three major issues. First, feature correlation is crucial for risk prediction, but it has not yet been fully exploited by existing works. Second, variation pattern of dynamic feature contains useful information about patient's physical status, but adaptive pattern recognition is still a challenge. Third, existing works usually adopt a two-stage embedding process to process each dimension of the EHR data. However, some useful low-level information for PPRL will be lost. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a fine-grained PPRL architecture named FG RL- N et for clinical risk prediction based on EHR. Specifically, we propose a Medical Feature Correlation Detection Module (FCM) to effectively learn the feature correlations for each patient and a Temporal Variation Pattern Recognition Module (TVM) to effectively detect the variation patterns of each dynamic feature. Moreover, we design a Fine-Grained Representation Mechanism (FGRM) to preserve the low-level information (from both feature and visit dimensions) useful for risk prediction. In addition, in the stage of data preprocessing, We utilize generic medical classification knowledge to classify numerical dynamic data. We conduct the in-hospital mortality experiment and the decompensation experiment on a real-world dataset. The experiment results show that the FGRL-Net outperforms state-of-the-art approaches. In this paper we describe the selection of a modern build automation tool for an industry research partner of ours, namely an insurance company. Build automation has become increasingly important over the years. Today, build automation became one of the central concepts in topics such as cloud native development based on microservices and DevOps. Since more and more products for build automation have entered the market and existing tools have changed their functional scope, there is nowadays a large number of tools on the market that differ greatly in their functional scope. Based on requirements from our partner company, a build server analysis was conducted. This paper presents our analysis requirements, a detailed look at one of the examined tools and a summarized comparison of two tools.

Metamorphic testing is a testing method for problems without test oracles. Integration testing allows for detecting errors in complex systems that may not be found during the testing of their components. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that applies metamorphic testing in integration testing. The main idea is to develop a composite metamorphic relation for the system represented as an acyclic graph. This relation is a logical function of metamorphic relations for the parts of the system (vertices of the graph). It takes into account the features of the parts. Also, it can simplify the search for failure by identifying the subsystem with error. In this paper's theoretical part, we describe an algorithm of relation design. Then, we apply our method to a bioinformatics system for comparative genetic analysis of tissues using production tools. This experiment proves our method can be applied to real-life pipelines and find errors in them. © 2022 ACM.

Historical and current aerial photographs are only of great value if the geolocation or address of the photographed areas is also available. In Western Europe, especially Austria, Germany and Czech Republic, there is a market for the sale of aerial photographs of one’s own private residential building. Automated geolocation is a feasible way to enable the sales agents to assign the addresses for the sale more quickly. In the course of this research work, a process chain is modeled that allows the assignment of aerial photographs to residential addresses using machine vision. After model-based rectifying the aerial images to compensate for perspective distortions, larger image blocks get assembled using image stitching. The assignment to a 2D reference map, such as satellite imagery via Google Maps, is done by applying a U-Net CNN after extracting durable image features such as roads or buildings. The mapping of aerial imagery to two-dimensional cartography is either automated via registration approaches or based on manually placed corresponding landmarks and homography. Test runs on imagery between the years 1969 and 2020 show that the labor-intensive process of geolocation of aerial imagery can be solved by the proposed process model in a hybrid way. © 2022 The Authors.

Rock thin section image classification in low data scenarios using few-shot learning

Microscopic rock thin section image recognition is crucial in rock mineral analysis. Typically, deep learning models are used to automate expert knowledge, but the scarcity of samples in certain categories limits the available training data, affecting the performance of traditional deep learning models. This paper proposes a novel few-shot learning model to address the challenge of classifying rock thin section images under limited sample conditions. Based on advanced few-shot learning processes involving pre-training and meta-training, we first introduce a Cross Attention Feature Fusion (CAFF) module. This module generates new features by combining plane polarized light images (PPL) and cross-polarized light images (XPL) of rock thin sections under a microscope, integrating these with the original features through autonomous learning to obtain more comprehensive features. Secondly, we propose a Feature Selection (FS) module based on the prototypical network (ProtoNet). This module enhances the model's classification capability by extracting key feature dimensions from two perspectives: intra-class representativeness and inter-class distinctiveness. Finally, using the pre-trained ResNet50 and Swim-Transformer on ImageNet-1000k as the backbone network, simulation experiments were conducted on the Nanjing University Rock Thin Section Teaching Dataset. Under the 5-Way 5-Shot few-shot learning task standard, the proposed ProtoNet-CAFF-FS model achieved an average classification accuracy of 96.70% and 99.16%, outperforming traditional modeling methods and demonstrating the effectiveness of the newly added modules. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd

Aerial photographs of buildings are often used as memorabilia sold by trading companies. Such photographs come with an issue regarding the address of the shown buildings, since the recording location of the camera may be known, but shows a spatial distance to the actual subject of the image. In addition to that, also this recording location is often not known in detail but only roughly in the form of the flight route/area. To address this problem, a methodology for reverse geocoding is proposed, allowing to identify the position of buildings that are photographed from aerial vehicles. This is done using a process for extending recording locations and a second process based on the registration of invariant features within aerial shots compared to maps. © 2022 University of West Bohemia. Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a hereditary mental illness, and unaffected first-degree relative (UFDR) is also at high risk. This study constructed a framework based on traditional machine learning and deep learning methods to identify OCD and UFDR. Specifically, we propose Multiple Spatial Similarity-Aware Learning (MSSL) models to construct Brain Functional Connectivity Networks (BFCNs) and use Diffusion Structure-Aware Graph Convolutional Network (DSAGCN) for feature learning. Two regularization terms are added to the MSSL model, one is to limit the similarity of functional connectivity of adjacent brain regions, and the other is to constrain the similarity of signals in adjacent brain regions. In this strategy, redundant information can be removed while constructing the interrelationships of various brain regions, which can reflect the interrelationships between brain *** graph diffusion is introduced to the DSAGCN model, which can not only solve the edge noise problem caused by the graph structure constructed by the custom adjacency matrix but also enrich the node features by using the position information of the nodes on the reconstructed graph *** framework has been validated on our dataset collected from local hospitals, and the experimental results show that our proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art. © 2024 IEEE.
