The rising demand for reliable, high-bandwidth satellite communications in far-reach areas drives the integration of low earth orbit (LEO) satellites into future 6G networks. In this paper, we investigate the deployment of reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) technology and rate splitting multiple access (RSMA) within LEO satellite systems to improve communication quality and system capacity. We derive closed-form expressions for outage probability (OP) and reliable throughput that validate the theoretical advantages of these technologies under various signal-to-noise ratio conditions. Numerical results demonstrate that, compared with traditional space division multiple access (SDMA) and non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) approaches, our RSMA and RIS-integrated framework significantly can reduce OP and enhance reliable throughput with an appropriate power-splitting factor, showcasing its superiority in RIS-enabled satellite communication scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

To improve the throughput of Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus protocols, the Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG) topology has been introduced to parallel data processing, leading to the development of DAG-based BFT consensus. However, existing DAG-based works heavily rely on Reliable Broadcast (RBC) protocols for block broadcasting, which introduces significant latency due to the three communication steps involved in each RBC. For instance, DAGRider, a representative DAG-based protocol, exhibits the best latency of 12 steps, considerably higher than non-DAG protocols like PBFT, which only requires 3 steps. To tackle this issue, we propose LightDAG, which replaces RBC with lightweight broadcasting protocols such as Consistent Broadcast (CBC) and Plain Broadcast (PBC). Since CBC and PBC can be implemented in two and one communication steps, respectively, LightDAG achieves low *** our proposal, we present two variants of LightDAG, namely LightDAG1 and LightDAG2, each providing a trade-off between the best latency and the expected worst latency. In LightDAG1, every block is broadcast using CBC, which exhibits a best latency of 5 steps and an expected worst latency of 14 steps. Since CBC cannot guarantee the totality property, we design a block retrieval mechanism in LightDAG1 to assist replicas in retrieving missing blocks. LightDAG2 utilizes a combination of PBC and CBC for block broadcasting, resulting in the best latency of 4 steps and an expected worst latency of 12(t+1) steps, where t represents the number of actual Byzantine replicas. Since a Byzantine replica may equivocate through PBC, LightDAG2 prohibits blocks from directly referencing contradictory blocks. To ensure liveness, we propose a mechanism to identify and exclude Byzantine replicas if they engage in equivocation attacks. Extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate LightDAG, and the results demonstrate its feasibility and efficiency.

Because of its high incidence and high mortality rate, breast cancer requires reliable means of early detection and diagnosis to improve survival rates for its patients. With advantages including increased accuracy and efficiency, deep learning (DL) and machine learning (ML) methods are quickly becoming indispensable in the fight against breast cancer. However, there is a need for additional study because existing approaches have scalability and performance constraints. Utilizing a pre-trained ResNet50V2 and ensemble-based ML approaches, we offer a hybrid approach to reliable breast cancer diagnosis in this study. Learning and extracting latent trends from complex breast-cancer(BC) images is made possible by DL's incorporation, with ML strategies contributing interpretability and generalizability. We performed wide experiments utilizing a openly accessible Invasive-Ductal-Carcinoma(IDC) dataset based on breast histopathology images of varying sample sizes. The resilience and great performance of our hybrid model are supported by the results of our extensive experiments. When compared to state-of-the-art models, our 95% accuracy rate, 94.5 precision, 94.2 recall, and 94.6 F1 score are all improvements. We also found that the best ML model to use with the ResNet50V2 architecture is the Light Boosting Classifier (LGB). This study's findings provide substantial contributions to the field of breast cancer diagnosis thanks to its novel approach, in-depth performance analysis, and trustworthy evaluation. In addition, it may help doctors make better decisions, provide better care, and boost results for people with breast cancer. © 2023 IEEE.

The integrated of the fifth generation (5G) and time-sensitive networking (TSN) is a promising approach to meet the requirements of deterministic forwarding with extremely low latency and high flexibility for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). However, due to the large dissimilarity of protocol stacks, the 5G system normally serves as a logical bridge for TSN, performing hold-and-forward operations in Base Stations (BSs) under the current 5G-TSN frameworks. To provide ubiquitous and seamless connectivity for IIoT devices, this paper focuses on the integrated enhancement of 5G and TSN by optimizing the scheduling of time-sensitive flows with end-to-end latency of 5G-TSN transmission taken into consideration. Specifically, we propose a novel architecture named GF-CQF, which combines 5G Grant-free (GF) access with TSN Cyclic Queuing and Forwarding (CQF). Subsequently, the distributed flow scheduling problem based on GF-CQF architecture is established due to the high timeliness demands. To alleviate the impact of the uncertainty inherent in 5G channels on end-to-end deterministic transmission, a feature-aware decentralized real-time scheduling (FDRS) policy based on Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning is proposed. FDRS allows each agent at BS to adaptively allocate TSN injection slots for flows mainly based on dynamic 5G transmission performance and TSN network resource state so that TSN queue overflow can be avoided and flow delay constraints can be guaranteed. Simulations show that FDRS offers superior scheduling capabilities under the limited TSN queue resources. © 2024 IEEE.

Wireless rechargeable sensor networks (WRSNs), supported by recent advancements in wireless power transfer (WPT) technology, hold significant potential for extending network lifetime. However, traditional approaches often prioritize scheduling algorithms and network optimization, overlooking the security risks associated with the charging process, which exposes the network to potential attacks. This paper addresses this gap by integrating Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Digital Twin technologies for the intelligent detection of Denial of Charging (DoC) attacks in WRSNs. First, it leverages the flexibility and intelligent control of SDN, in combination with Digital Twin, to enhance real-time detection and mitigation of DoC attacks. Second, it employs four key metrics to detect such attacks including charging request patterns, energy consumption, behavioral and reputation scores, and charging behavior and efficiency. The numerical results demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed protocol in terms of energy usage efficiency, survival rate, detection rate, and travel distance. © 2025, CC BY.

Color invariance is critical for computer vision systems since it significantly increases the robustness and effectiveness of the system. MSDA approaches (e.g., FMix and CutMix) have attracted considerable attention in recent years since they are simple, effective, and do not require extra computation con-sumption. By mixing samples, these approaches extend the distribution of training samples. However, the color information of these mixed samples is not changed, which makes it still difficult for trained models to achieve color invariance. To address this issue, we propose a universal module called Mixed Color Channels (MCC) that implements color changes by mixing the sample and its color variants, which enables trained models to achieve color invariance. In the experimen-tal section, we insert MCC into four state-of-the-art MSDA approaches, evaluate its effectiveness, and embed MCC into a non-MSDA method to demonstrate its extensibility. © 2022 IEEE.

Entity alignment (EA) is crucial for integrating knowledge graphs (KGs) constructed from diverse sources. Conventional unsupervised EA approaches attempt to eliminate human intervention but often suffer from accuracy limitations. With the rise of large language models (LLMs), leveraging their capabilities for EA presents a promising direction. However, it introduces new challenges: formulating the LLM-based EA problem and extracting the background knowledge in LLMs to realize EA without human intervention. This paper proposes HLMEA, a novel hybrid language model-based unsupervised EA method. HLMEA formulates the EA task into a filtering and single-choice problem and synergistically integrates small language models (SLMs) and LLMs. Specifically, SLMs filter candidate entities based on textual representations generated from KG triples. Then, LLMs refine this selection to identify the most semantically aligned entities. An iterative self-training mechanism allows SLMs to distill knowledge from LLM outputs, enhancing the EA ability of hybrid language models in subsequent rounds cooperatively. We also conducted extensive experiments on benchmark datasets to evaluate HLMEA's performance. The results demonstrate that HLMEA significantly outperforms unsupervised and even supervised EA baselines, proving its potential for scalable and effective EA across large KGs. The use of virtual reality (VR) technologies in higher education has been growing in recent years due to their didactic potential in the most diverse areas of knowledge. However, the implementation of VR in universities is affected by several factors, including the level of digitization of the country or the tenure, private or public, of the universities. In this paper, a quantitative, descriptive and correlational research is carried out on the assessments of a group of professors in Peru about the use of VR in their lectures and on the differences in these perceptions according to the tenure of the university of the participants. For this purpose, a validated questionnaire was used, and its responses were statistically analyzed. The results reveal that professors express high ratings for the use of VR but show insufficient levels of digital skills for its use. In addition, professors from private universities give higher ratings of the didactic and usability aspects of VR. It is suggested that VR equipment and faculty training should be strengthened. © 2023 IEEE.

Write-ahead log and data encryption technologies are employed to ensure both crash consistency and data security for persistent memory (PM). The encryption/decryption of both data and log requests increase the memory request latency, degrading the system performance. To tackle this issue, this paper proposes a novel log-aware memory encryption scheme to reduce encryption/decryption operations, without compromising data security. Specifically, redo log blocks are stored as ciphertext for their corresponding data blocks to avoid encryption/decryption of log data blocks when in-place update operations are applied to them. We further design a compact log record layout with fewer encryption metadata in log records to reduce logging traffic. Our simulation results show that the transaction throughput of the proposed design outperforms the baseline design and the state-of-the-art design by 87.3% and 55.3% on average, respectively. © 2021 IEEE.

Holographic display stands as a prominent approach for achieving lifelike three-dimensional(3D)reproductions with continuous depth ***,the generation of a computer-generated hologram(CGH)always relies on the repetitive computation of diffraction propagation from point-cloud or multiple depthsliced planar images,which inevitably leads to an increase in computational complexity,making real-time CGH generation ***,we report a new CGH generation algorithm capable of rapidly synthesizing a 3D hologram in only one-step backward propagation calculation in a novel split Lohmann lens-based diffraction *** introducing an extra predesigned virtual digital phase modulation of multifocal split Lohmann lens in such a diffraction model,the generated CGH appears to reconstruct 3D scenes with accurate accommodation abilities across the display *** with the conventional layer-based method,the computation speed of the proposed method is independent of the quantized layer numbers,and therefore can achieve real-time computation speed with a very dense of depth *** simulation and experimental results validate the proposed method.
