Image matting is a widely-used image processing technique that aims at accurately separating foreground from an image. However, this is a challenging and ill-posed problem that demands additional input, such as trimaps and background images, for providing prior knowledge. However, the manual annotation of trimaps require lots of labor, limiting the application of trimap-based methods. Some trimap-free methods explore alternatives with low labor requirements by utilizing captured background images, including background-based methods. However, the quality of alpha mattes predicted by trimap-free methods still fall short of trimap-based methods. To reduce the performance gap between background-based and trimap-based methodes, we present Trimap Generation from Background Image (TG-BG) method which can generate trimaps from the input image and a captured background image. It provides an economical solution to facilitate the application of trimap-based methods, allowing for low-cost and high-quality alpha matte predictions. TP-BG leverages a ViT backbone for feature extraction and employs the Image and Background Detail Fusion Stream (IBDFS) to capture multi-scale detail information. The introduction of foreground impact loss encourages the network to pay more attention to the foreground in the image. We validate the trimap prediction performance of TP-BG by comparing the alpha matte quality obtained by background-based methods and that obtained by trimap-based methods integrated with TP-BG. The experimental results demonstrate that TP-BG can generate high-quality trimap from a background image, and trimap-based methods integrated with TP-BG outperform the state-of-the-art background-based methods in terms of four alpha matte quality metrics. © 2024 SPIE.

Information transfer has accelerated in the modern era. Numerous security difficulties were caused by the increasing transmission. The most popular methods to address this issue are cryptography and steganography. Steganography is the method of hiding secret data with a non- secret file to avoid data breaches whereas cryptography uses programs to encrypt and decrypt the data to make it secure. They both need to be combined so as to build a secure network that is not easily visible for hackers to breach as it looks like average data, despite the fact that these methods are frequently used together to reach higher degrees of security, a highly secure system is still required to transfer information through any communication channel while reducing the possibility of intrusion. In this paper, we suggest a data encryption system that makes use of effective AES and DES cryptography techniques. We present a way for secure data transfer by combining these encryption techniques with the technique of steganography. Our method effectively employs steganography techniques by inserting the encrypted text within an image's pixels. In addition to improving the security of data hiding compared to conventional techniques, this paper also enables us to assess the advantages and disadvantages of AES and DES in the context of data encryption and steganography. © 2023 IEEE.

This research introduces real-time monitoring and localizing product stock using the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method with radio frequency identification (RFID) pressure sensing tags. The proposed FIFO system has RFID pressure sensing tags that detect pressure changes, generate sensor codes, and estimate a stock location. Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) improves location estimation accuracy of up-to-date stock visibility. The ability of RFID pressure sensing tags and AI to detect stock from sensor code data enables more effective asset management, optimizes stock management, reduces product waste, and contributes to better efficiency in product inventory management. © 2024 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

With the growing discovery of exposed vulnerabilities in the Industrial Control Components(ICCs),identification of the exploitable ones is urgent for Industrial Control system(ICS)administrators to proactively forecast potential ***,it is not a trivial task due to the complexity of the multi-source heterogeneous data and the lack of automatic analysis *** address these challenges,we propose an exploitability reasoning method based on the ICC-Vulnerability Knowledge Graph(KG)in which relation paths contain abundant potential evidence to support the *** reasoning task in this work refers to determining whether a specific relation is valid between an attacker entity and a possible exploitable vulnerability entity with the help of a collective of the critical *** proposed method consists of three primary building blocks:KG construction,relation path representation,and query relation reasoning.A security-oriented ontology combines exploit modeling,which provides a guideline for the integration of the scattered knowledge while constructing the *** emphasize the role of the aggregation of the attention mechanism in representation learning and ultimate *** order to acquire a high-quality representation,the entity and relation embeddings take advantage of their local structure and related *** critical paths are assigned corresponding attentive weights and then they are aggregated for the determination of the query relation *** particular,similarity calculation is introduced into a critical path selection algorithm,which improves search and reasoning ***,the proposed algorithm avoids redundant paths between the given pairs of *** results show that the proposed method outperforms the state-of-the-art ones in the aspects of embedding quality and query relation reasoning accuracy.

Multi-level Multi-task representation learning with adaptive fusion for multimodal sentiment analysis

Multimodal sentiment analysis is an active task in multimodal intelligence, which aims to compute the user’s sentiment tendency from multimedia data. Generally, each modality is a specific and necessary perspective to express human sentiment, providing complementary and consensus information unavailable in a single modality. Nevertheless, the heterogeneous multimedia data often contain inconsistent and conflicting sentiment semantics that limits the model performance. In this work, we propose a Multi-level Multi-task Representation Learning with Adaptive Fusion (MuReLAF) network to bridge the semantic gap among different modalities. Specifically, we design a modality adaptive fusion block to adjust modality contributions dynamically. Besides, we build a multi-level multimodal representations framework to obtain modality-specific and modality-shared semantics by the multi-task learning strategy, where modality-specific semantics contain complementary information and modality-shared semantics include consensus information. Extensive experiments are conducted on four publicly available datasets: MOSI, MOSEI, SIMS, and SIMSV2(s), demonstrating that our model exhibits superior or comparable performance to state-of-the-art models. The achieved accuracies are 86.28%, 86.07%, 84.46%, and 82.78%, respectively, showcasing improvements of 0.82%, 0.84%, 1.75%, and 1.83%. Further analyses also indicate the effectiveness of our model in sentiment analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

SAM-COD+: SAM-Guided Unified Framework for Weakly-Supervised Camouflaged Object Detection

Most Camouflaged Object Detection (COD) methods heavily rely on mask annotations, which are time-consuming and labor-intensive to acquire. Existing weakly-supervised COD approaches exhibit significantly inferior performance compared to fully-supervised methods and struggle to simultaneously support all the existing types of camouflaged object labels, including scribbles, bounding boxes, and points. Even for Segment Anything Model (SAM), it is still problematic to handle the weakly-supervised COD and it typically encounters challenges of prompt compatibility of the scribble labels, extreme response, semantically erroneous response, and unstable feature representations, producing unsatisfactory results in camouflaged scenes. To mitigate these issues, we propose a unified COD framework in this paper, termed SAM-COD, which is capable of supporting arbitrary weakly-supervised labels. Our SAM-COD employs a prompt adapter to handle scribbles as prompts based on SAM. Meanwhile, we introduce response filter and semantic matcher modules to improve the quality of the masks obtained by SAM under COD prompts. To alleviate the negative impacts of inaccurate mask predictions, a new strategy of prompt-adaptive knowledge distillation is utilized to ensure a reliable feature representation. To validate the effectiveness of our approach, we have conducted extensive empirical experiments on three mainstream COD benchmarks. The results demonstrate the superiority of our method against state-of-the-art weakly-supervised and even fully-supervised methods. Learning to see speckle in the weak laser field through multimode fiber

Multimode fibers (MMFs) have great potential for endoscopic imaging due to the high number of modes and a small core diameter. Deep learning based on neural networks has received increasing attention in the field of scattering image reconstruction. However， most studies focus on designing complex network architectures to improve reconstruction， but these network models struggle to reconstruct images in a weak laser field. In the paper， a lightweight generative adversarial network model combined with a histogram specification algorithm is designed to reconstruct speckles in the weak laser field through MMF. Experimental results show that the reconstruction results of our algorithm have better metrics. Moreover， the model demonstrates excellent cross-domain generalization ability with regards to the Fashion-MNIST dataset. It is worth mentioning that we found that the speckles after inactivation still retain the ability to be reconstructed， which enhances the robustness of the model

Cloud-based machine learning services offer significant advantages but also introduce the risk of tampering with cloud-deployed deep neural network (DNN) models. Black-box integrity verification (BIV) allows model owners and end-users to determine if a cloud-deployed DNN model has been tampered with by examining only the top-1 label responses. Fingerprinting generates fingerprint samples to query the model, achieving BIV with no impact on the model's accuracy. In this paper, we present BIVBench, the first comprehensive benchmark for BIV of DNN models. BIVBench covers 16 types of model modifications, providing extensive coverage of practical modification scenarios. Our analysis reveals that existing fingerprinting methods, which are typically focused on significant tampering, lack the sensitivity needed to effectively detect subtle yet common and potentially severe modifications. To address this limitation, we propose MiSentry (Model Integrity Sentry), a novel fingerprinting method that leverages meta-learning. MiSentry strategically incorporates a few subtly modified models into the meta-learning model zoo and maximizes the divergence of output predictions between the target model and the modified models in the model zoo to generate highly sensitive, generalizable, and effective fingerprint samples. Extensive evaluations using BIVBench demonstrate that MiSentry outperforms existing state-of-the-art methods overall and significantly surpasses them in detecting subtle modifications. TDSF-Net: Tensor Decomposition-Based Subspace Fusion Network for Multimodal Medical Image Classification

Data from multimodalities bring complementary information for deep learning-based medical image classification models. However, data fusion methods simply concatenating features or images barely consider the correlations or complementarities among different modalities and easily suffer from exponential growth in dimensions and computational complexity when the modality increases. Consequently, this article proposes a subspace fusion network with tensor decomposition (TD) to heighten multimodal medical image classification. We first introduce a Tucker low-rank TD module to map the high-level dimensional tensor to the low-rank subspace, reducing the redundancy caused by multimodal data and high-dimensional features. Then, a cross-tensor attention mechanism is utilized to fuse features from the subspace into a high-dimension tensor, enhancing the representation ability of extracted features and constructing the interaction information among components in the subspace. Extensive comparison experiments with state-of-the-art (SOTA) methods are conducted on one self-established and three public multimodal medical image datasets, verifying the effectiveness and generalization ability of the proposed method. Recently, the diffusion-based generative paradigm has achieved impressive general image generation capabilities with text prompts due to its accurate distribution modeling and stable training process. However, generating diverse remote sensing (RS) images that are tremendously different from general images in terms of scale and perspective remains a formidable challenge due to the lack of a comprehensive remote sensing image generation dataset with various modalities, ground sample distances (GSD), and scenes. In this paper, we propose a Multi-modal, MultiGSD, Multi-scene Remote Sensing (MMM-RS) dataset and benchmark for text-to-image generation in diverse remote sensing scenarios. Specifically, we first collect nine publicly available RS datasets and conduct standardization for all samples. To bridge RS images to textual semantic information, we utilize a large-scale pretrained vision-language model to automatically output text prompts and perform hand-crafted rectification, resulting in information-rich text-image pairs (including multi-modal images). In particular, we design some methods to obtain the images with different GSD and various environments (e.g., low-light, foggy) in a single sample. With extensive manual screening and refining annotations, we ultimately obtain a MMM-RS dataset that comprises approximately 2.1 million text-image pairs. Extensive experimental results verify that our proposed MMM-RS dataset allows off-the-shelf diffusion models to generate diverse RS images across various modalities, scenes, weather conditions, and GSD.
