The increasing dependence on smartphones with advanced sensors has highlighted the imperative of precise transportation mode classification, pivotal for domains like health monitoring and urban planning. This research is motivated by the pressing demand to enhance transportation mode classification, leveraging the potential of smartphone sensors, notably the accelerometer, magnetometer, and gyroscope. In response to this challenge, we present a novel automated classification model rooted in deep reinforcement learning. Our model stands out for its innovative approach of harnessing enhanced features through artificial neural networks (ANNs) and visualizing the classification task as a structured series of decision-making events. Our model adopts an improved differential evolution (DE) algorithm for initializing weights, coupled with a specialized agent-environment relationship. Every correct classification earns the agent a reward, with additional emphasis on the accurate categorization of less frequent modes through a distinct reward strategy. The Upper Confidence Bound (UCB) technique is used for action selection, promoting deep-seated knowledge, and minimizing reliance on chance. A notable innovation in our work is the introduction of a cluster-centric mutation operation within the DE algorithm. This operation strategically identifies optimal clusters in the current DE population and forges potential solutions using a pioneering update mechanism. When assessed on the extensive HTC dataset, which includes 8311 hours of data gathered from 224 participants over two years. Noteworthy results spotlight an accuracy of 0.88±0.03 and an F-measure of 0.87±0.02, underscoring the efficacy of our approach for large-scale transportation mode classification tasks. The wide adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) leads to the need for fast charging stations (FCSs) with battery energy storage systems (BESSs) due to charging anxieties and various charging behaviors, and results in numerous retired batteries (RBs) necessitating the recycling solutions. To address these issues simultaneously, this study proposes an economic operation strategy for FCSs assisted by the RB-based hybrid energy storage system (HESS). In the proposed strategy, the FCS economic operational model is established, where a rolling mixed-integer linear programming (RMILP) mechanism is adopted considering uncertain charging behaviors, and the fuzzy C-means (FCM) algorithm is adopted to cluster RBs to form the RB-based HESS. Moreover, a concurrent decommissioning method is introduced for the RB-based HESS lifespan extension and cost reduction, with the assistance of a state-of-health-based droop control for power allocation optimization among RBs. Finally, various simulation and experimental studies have been conducted to verify the effectiveness of the proposed economic operation strategy. The results demonstrate that FCSs with the RB-based HESSs achieve 67.32% annual net revenue (ANR) superiority over FCSs without BESSs, and 12.69% ANR increment over those with BESSs. Moreover, the lifespan of the RB-based HESS can be extended by 11.23% with the concurrent decommissioning method. © 2015 IEEE.

At high velocity flight, the infrared imaging system encounters significant aero-optical disturbances due to the uneven gas flow around the aircraft's forward section and the elevated temperatures of the optical dome. In the simulation study of aero-optical effects, hydrodynamic calculations of the gas flow field and optical dome are required. This paper examines the utilization of the solid-fluid coupling approach in simulating aero-optical phenomena from the perspective of fluid dynamics computations. This paper undertakes the geometric modelling of the airflow environment and optical dome of a blunt-nose front-window flight vehicle. Utilizing ICEM, the mesh generation for both the gaseous flow domain and the solid optical dome is executed. Subsequently, Fluent software facilitates the performance of hydrodynamic simulations, concurrently extracting vital parameters from both the flow field and the optical dome. The method in this paper can be used in the calculation and analysis of aero-optical effects of high-speed flight vehicles. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of technology, the use of social media by the public, especially among young people, is increasing. One of the social media platforms currently used by young people is the TikTok application. It is a video-based TikTok feature accompanied by music, writing, and pictures that are considered attractive, so teenagers like it to show their existence and self-disclosure. Therefore, this study aims to examine the intention of users to disclose their privacy. As the basis of the theory, this study deployed the privacy calculus theory, where the perceived benefits and perceived risks play crucial roles in the intention to disclose their privacy. The study successfully collected 369 responses. The empirical findings indicated that only the relationship between Perceived Personalization (PP) and Perceived Risk (PR) was not supported. However, all the remaining hypotheses were supported. These findings emphasize how several complicated variables influence social media users' intentions to disclose their privacy. When people feel in control of their privacy settings and see significant benefits, they are more likely to divulge personal information;nevertheless, perceived risks can greatly discourage users. © 2024 IEEE.

The heterogeneous fleet vehicle routing problem (HFVRP) is of great significance in logistics and transportation. This paper considers a crucial and challenging HFVRP variant, namely multi-objective fleet size and mix vehicle routing problem with unlimited fleet, fixed cost, and dependent cost (MO-FSMVRPFD). A decomposition-based memetic algorithm called MOEA/D-ALS is proposed to cope with MO-FSMVRPFD. MOEA/D-ALS uses the multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on decomposition (MOEA/D) as the backbone. Beyond that, it adopts a replacement strategy based on maximal fitness improvement (MFI). In addition, the local search is conducted on difficult subproblems for further refinement. The experimental studies on 18 instances show that MOEA/D-ALS exhibits a significant performance superiority over two other representative algorithms. The effectiveness of both the MFI strategy and the adaptive local search procedure is also validated. © 2024 IEEE.

In the field of computer holography, generating three-dimensional (3D) computer-generated hologram (CGH) in real-time speed has been a significant challenge due to the huge amount of data in 3D object wave. Deep learning has been proposed to compute CGH very fast using convolutional neural network (CNN). However, the input of the such CNN still depends on the acquisition of 3D information like RGB-D image. Here we present novel deep learning based computer holography technique which can rapidly generate CGH using CNN directly from stereo/single images rather than from RGB-D data. The method can simplify the CGH generation by using images as input, therefore avoiding the cumbersome 3D depth measuring process. © 2024 The Author(s)

As an extended computing paradigm of cloud computing, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC) facilitates real-time service responses by deploying resources near network edges. However, services should frequently move among multiple edge computing servers because of the mobility of most users, which accordingly leads to increased network operation costs and influences service quality. In this paper, we formulate the service migration problem as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) and introduce the dueling Deep Q-Network (DQN) to solve the problem, so as to reduce the network operating cost without lowering the service quality. We also propose a trajectory prediction approach to further optimize the service migration. Simulation experimental results demonstrate that the proposed mechanism can achieve a lower network operation cost without reducing the service quality. © 2023 IEEE.

With the number of users that use mobile devices for frequent transactions increasing rapidly, it is a great challenge to guarantee the credibility of transactions. Blockchain is regarded as a practical technology for such demand, however, the limited computing capacity of each user's device becomes a bottleneck. In this paper, the edge computing pattern is introduced to support complex computing for mobile devices of users by renting computing resource from computing service providers. By considering demands of both the user and the service provider, we propose a two-level game approach based on the Stackelberg Game for multiple users and multiple service providers on computing resources renting and pricing. The simulation results show that the proposed mechanism is feasible and effective. © 2023 IEEE.
