Nonparametric Statistical Feature Scaling Based Quadratic Regressive Convolution Deep Neural Network for Software Fault Prediction

The development of defect prediction plays a significant role in improving software quality. Such predictions are used to identify defective modules before the testing and to minimize the time and cost. The software with defects negatively impacts operational costs and finally affects customer satisfaction. Numerous approaches exist to predict software defects. However, the timely and accurate software bugs are the major challenging issues. To improve the timely and accurate software defect prediction, a novel technique called Nonparametric Statistical feature scaled QuAdratic regressive convolution Deep nEural Network (SQADEN) is introduced. The proposed SQADEN technique mainly includes two major processes namely metric or feature selection and classification. First, the SQADEN uses the nonparametric statistical Torgerson–Gower scaling technique for identifying the relevant software metrics by measuring the similarity using the dice coefficient. The feature selection process is used to minimize the time complexity of software fault prediction. With the selected metrics, software fault perdition with the help of the Quadratic Censored regressive convolution deep neural network-based classification. The deep learning classifier analyzes the training and testing samples using the contingency correlation coefficient. The softstep activation function is used to provide the final fault prediction results. To minimize the error, the Nelder–Mead method is applied to solve non-linear least-squares problems. Finally, accurate classification results with a minimum error are obtained at the output layer. Experimental evaluation is carried out with different quantitative metrics such as accuracy, precision, recall, F-measure, and time complexity. Multi-Scale Binocular Stereo Matching Based on Semantic Association

Aiming at the low accuracy of existing binocular stereo matching and depth estimation methods, this paper proposes a multi-scale binocular stereo matching network based on semantic association. A semantic association module is designed to construct the contextual semantic association relationship among the pixels through semantic category and attention mechanism. The disparity of those regions where the disparity is easily estimated can be used to assist the disparity estimation of relatively difficult regions, so as to improve the accuracy of disparity estimation of the whole image. Simultaneously, a multi-scale cost volume computation module is proposed. Unlike the existing methods, which use a single cost volume, the proposed multi-scale cost volume computation module designs multiple cost volumes for features of different scales. The semantic association feature and multi-scale cost volume are aggregated, which fuses the high-level semantic information and the low-level local detailed information to enhance the feature representation for accurate stereo matching. We demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed solutions on the KITTI2015 binocular stereo matching dataset, and our model achieves comparable or higher matching performance, compared to other seven classic binocular stereo matching algorithms.

A hybrid machine learning approach for enhanced anomaly detection in drinking water quality

Machine learning has become important for anomaly detection in water quality prediction. Data anomalies are often caused by the difficulties of analysing large amounts of data, both technical and human, but approaches have been inadequate when water contamination increases. The paper reports an anomaly detection technique based on an autoencoder and an extreme learning machine (AEELM). This approach uses an autoencoder for feature selection and an ELM algorithm for classification purposes. It is estimated using the Cauvery River dataset. The autoencoder-based ELM techniques outperformed other models with 83% accuracy, 77% precision, 83% recall, and 83% F1-level characteristic performance indicators. These results demonstrate its great effectiveness. © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Towards imbalanced motion:part-decoupling network for video portrait segmentation

Video portrait segmentation(VPS), aiming at segmenting prominent foreground portraits from video frames, has received much attention in recent years. However, the simplicity of existing VPS datasets leads to a limitation on extensive research of the task. In this work, we propose a new intricate large-scale multi-scene video portrait segmentation dataset MVPS consisting of 101 video clips in 7 scenario categories,in which 10843 sampled frames are finely annotated at the pixel level. The dataset has diverse scenes and complicated background environments, which is the most complex dataset in VPS to our best *** the observation of a large number of videos with portraits during dataset construction, we find that due to the joint structure of the human body, the motion of portraits is part-associated, which leads to the different parts being relatively independent in motion. That is, the motion of different parts of the portraits is imbalanced. Towards this imbalance, an intuitive and reasonable idea is that different motion states in portraits can be better exploited by decoupling the portraits into parts. To achieve this, we propose a part-decoupling network(PDNet) for VPS. Specifically, an inter-frame part-discriminated attention(IPDA)module is proposed which unsupervisedly segments portrait into parts and utilizes different attentiveness on discriminative features specified to each different part. In this way, appropriate attention can be imposed on portrait parts with imbalanced motion to extract part-discriminated correlations, so that the portraits can be segmented more accurately. Experimental results demonstrate that our method achieves leading performance with the comparison to state-of-the-art methods.

Peanut maturity detection assessment using cross-layer multi-perception neural network based on hyperspectral sensory image feature observation

Artificial intelligence has played a significant role in the expansion of the agriculture industry in recent times by evaluating data and making recommendations for better production. An automated method for determining significant information in seed quality analysis is the peanut maturity analysis in image processing through sensory images. The majority of the time, changes in picture intensity result in feature independence and precise maturity level determination. Therefore, agricultural precision in identifying essential features is low. To address this issue, we suggest employing a Cross-Layer Multi-Perception Neural Network (CLMPNN) for hyperspectral sensory image feature observation in order to determine the optimal assessment of peanut maturity in agriculture. The sensing unit first determines the angular cascade projection's (ACP) structural dependencies for the peanut pod structure. With the aid of color-intensive saturation, the entity projection of pod growth is found using the Slicing Fragment Segmentation (SFS) technique. This generates the various entity variations by integrating relational maturity and non-maturity findings with spectral values. Next, cross-layer multi-perception neural networks are trained with hyperspectral values optimized by LSTM to distinguish between mature and immature pods. In comparison to the other system, this one does exceptionally well in precision agriculture, with a 98.6 well recall rate, a 97.3% classification accuracy, and a 98.9% production accuracy. © 2024 - IOS Press. Domain generalization with semi-supervised learning for people-centric activity recognition

People-centric activity recognition is one of the most critical technologies in a wide range of real-world applications,including intelligent transportation systems, healthcare services, and brain-computer interfaces. Large-scale data collection and annotation make the application of machine learning algorithms prohibitively expensive when adapting to new tasks. One way of circumventing this limitation is to train the model in a semi-supervised learning manner that utilizes a percentage of unlabeled data to reduce the labeling burden in prediction tasks. Despite their appeal, these models often assume that labeled and unlabeled data come from similar distributions, which leads to the domain shift problem caused by the presence of distribution gaps. To address these limitations, we propose herein a novel method for people-centric activity recognition,called domain generalization with semi-supervised learning(DGSSL), that effectively enhances the representation learning and domain alignment capabilities of a model. We first design a new autoregressive discriminator for adversarial training between unlabeled and labeled source domains, extracting domain-specific features to reduce the distribution gaps. Second, we introduce two reconstruction tasks to capture the task-specific features to avoid losing information related to representation learning while maintaining task-specific consistency. Finally, benefiting from the collaborative optimization of these two tasks, the model can accurately predict both the domain and category labels of the source domains for the classification task. We conduct extensive experiments on three real-world sensing datasets. The experimental results show that DGSSL surpasses the three state-of-the-art methods with better performance and generalization.
