In recent times, offensive span identification in code-mixed Tamil-English language has seen traction with the release of datasets, shared tasks, and the development of multiple methods. However, the details of various errors shown by these methods are currently unclear. This paper presents a detailed analysis of various errors in state-of-the-art Tamil-English offensive span identification methods. Our study reveals the strengths and weaknesses of the widely used sequence labeling and zero-shot models for offensive span identification. In the due process, we identify data-related errors, improve data annotation and release additional diagnostic data to evaluate models’ quality and stability. Non-Volatile Flip Flops (NVFF) using Magnetic Tunnel Junction (MTJ) enable non-volatile power gating and reduce leakage power. However, MTJ has a problem of high write energy. Conventional NVFFs write to two MTJs per NVFF because they read using the difference between the high and low resistance of the MTJs. However, it is not necessary to write to two MTJs, if they can be accurately read using one MTJ and a reference resistor whose resistance value is fixed between high and low resistance. In this study, we propose an NVFF circuit that has a reference resistor and writes to only one MTJ to reduce energy. We conducted circuit design and layout in the 65nm process technology. Simulation results demonstrated that the write energy was reduced by 58% while suppressing the area overhead to 5%.

Messer: An interactive environment for evaluating C preprocessing macros conforming to C++17 stan-dard with showing macro replacement steps

The C preprocessor (CPP) is a token-based macro processor for some programming languages such as C and C++. By using CPP, we can write programs with abstracting types, which typically appear in generic programming, in some programming languages like C that do not support type variables. However, the CPP replaces tokens without any consideration about the syntax of the programming languages. Misusing CPP macros may cause errors difficult to detect from the error messages. Moreover it is difficult to study the CPP by oneself, and studying preprocessing directives except for #include has lower priority for most people than studying syntax and standard libraries of the programming languages or studying some APIs. Hence CPP macros are rarely used correctly. Some CPP implementations provide the functionality of showing macro replacement steps, which helps us to learn the behavior of the macro replacement. However, these implementations conform to C99, so we cannot use them to learn new features introduced in newer specifications such as C++17. In this paper, we implement an interactive environment, named Messer, for evaluating C++17 CPP macros in order to help us to learn CPP. Furthermore, we report the detail of the implementation. Messer has the functionalities of showing macro replacement steps and completing user input with taking into account the context. For implementing Messer, we have also implmented the parser combinator named matcha2 and the line editing library named Linse. Matcha2 can take as its input a list of tokens. © 2021 Japan Society for Software science and technology. All rights reserved.

Today in the world, the rapid and widespread adoption of modern technologies has changed the way that we can access information from news, conversations, and exchange of views about any topics that could attract people's attention. Current communication on the Internet allows people in the community to present and share their ideas in publications and interact with others on different subjects. These data contain a large amount of common knowledge that can be used in scientific and humanitarian research to generalize the benefit to all people everywhere. With the advancement of artificial intelligence and its branches and by using these data, we can solve the various problems that face us in life. Natural language processing is one of the most important issues that have arisen in parallel with the developments of artificial intelligence. Sentiment analysis is regarded as a computational technique that aids in determining and evaluating people's emotions through written documents. Therefore, in this study, we will focus on the sentiment analysis by applying Random Forest and Decision Tree algorithms on the dataset containing children's stories. The results showed that the accuracy rate attained by Random Forest was 98.32% while Decision Tree gave 97.74%. © 2023 IEEE.

Amphiphilic asymmetric brush copolymers(AABCs)possess unique self-assembly behaviors owing to their asymmetric brush architecture and multiple functionalities of multicomponent side ***,the synthesis of AABCs presents challenges,which greatly limits the exploration of their self-assembly *** this work,we employed dissipative particle dynamics(DPD)simulations to investigate the self-assembly behaviors of AABCs in selective *** varying the copolymer concentration and structure,we conducted the self-assembly phase diagrams of AABCs,revealing complex morphologies such as channelized micelles with one or more solvophilic ***,the number,surface area,and one-dimensional density distribution of the channelized micelles were calculated to demonstrate the internal structure and morphological transformation during the self-assembly *** findings indicate that the morphology of the internal solvophilic channels is greatly influenced by the copolymer structure,concentration,and interaction parameters between the different side *** simulation results are consistent with available experimental observations,which can offer theoretical insights into the self-assembly of AABCs.

In this paper, we investigate the methods of data augmentation appropriate to detect bacteria from Gram stained smears images by YOLOv8. For data augmentation, we adopt the flipping, the rotation, the cutout and the change of the values in HSB color space. Then, we evaluate these methods and the methods of the cutout and the change of the values in HSB color space after applying the flipping and the rotation. © 2024 IEEE.

The multi-pose virtual try-on technology aims to seamlessly fit an in-shop garment onto a reference person in various poses. This technology has attracted considerable attention from researchers due to its potential commercial and practical applications. Previous works in this field have encountered issues such as unnatural garment alignment and difficulty in preserving the person's identity, arising from the weak mapping relationship between different feature crosses. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel multi-pose virtual try-on network named CF-VTON. Our approach involves predicting the "after-try-on"semantic map to guide garment alignment and try-on synthesis, warping the garment using an improved garment alignment network (GANet) to optimize unnatural alignment, synthesizing a coarse result with our proposed try-on synthesis network (TSN), and refining the output to reconstruct the virtual try-on result with rich facial identity and garment details. Qualitative and quantitative experiments demonstrate the superiority of our approach, outperforming state-of-the-art methods in an efficient manner. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamic range enhancement for the sensing signals of peak-saturated fiber Bragg grating spectra

Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors applying time-delay interrogators with wavelength swept lasers (WSLs) are popular for their great potentials in high sensing resolution and power budget. In these systems, well-calibrated WSLs with reduced wavelength nonlinearity and jitter are critical for the sensing performance. However, high-performance WSLs are expensive and could significantly increase the cost of the systems. The overall cost may be reduced by maximally sharing each WSL with multiple sensing FBGs through mechanisms like power splitting, which distribute the WSL signal into multiple independently operated serial FBG chains. Under such scenarios, the sensing processing unit (SPU) of each serial FBG chain must be synchronized with the WSL for correctly estimating the FBGs' respective spectra from the signal return time delays. We previously propose a self-synchronized scheme relying on the dual-polarity spectrum signal, which reduces the synchronization labor. The dual-polarity signal has a wider dynamic range, which may limit the system response speed or accuracy, considering the amplifiers' responses or the analog-to-digital converters' (ADCs') quantization noise. In this Letter, we apply peak-saturated FBG spectra for the sensors to increase the receivers' equivalent dynamic range. The flattopwaveforms of the saturated peaks result in uncertainty for the peak positions. An artificial neutral network (ANN)-based method is further studied to enhance the peak detection accuracy. We show an ∼88% receiver dynamic range improvement with an inaccuracy reduction of about a half compared to the filter-and-maximum-readout (FMR) method. © 2023 Optica Publishing Group.

Using a mobile phone or other portable device to conduct financial transactions online is known as 'mobile banking.' Activities such as verifying one's account balance, transferring funds to another account, making bill payments, and finding a local automated teller machine (ATM) are included under this classification. Due to the significant expenses associated with implementing this technology, Authentication of users, data privacy, non-repudiation, data integrity, and obtainability of services are all areas where people have voiced concerns. The analysis described in this paper introduces a more advantageous and convenient framework for addressing these issues. The proposed approach effectively accomplishes its intended goals via the use of a widely adopted technique known as salting, which involves the application of the Secure Hash Algorithm (SHA512) to obfuscate sensitive information such as user IDs and passwords. The encoding and decoding procedures used the Advanced Encoding Standard (AES) technique while implementing one-time passwords (OTPs) was implemented to enhance user authentication. The design approach used PHP, JScript, CSS, and a MySQL database. The password recovery technique was used to assess the model's credibility and reliability and acquire the outcomes. This program enhances the process of recovering passwords across various scenarios. It intercepts network traffic using dictionary attacks, brute-force assaults, and cryptanalytics attacks to decrypt encrypted passwords. Additionally, it uncovers password bins, retrieves secreted passwords and analyses routing protocols. The gathered findings support the idea's feasibility since the encrypted and hashed data demonstrates resistance to unauthorized access. © 2024 IEEE.
