Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are the new trend to collaborate service among the Internet of Thing (IoT) devices. The principal mechanism is controlling or monitoring by computer-based algorithms and integration among users and devices. Since CPS is a distributed system, communication among devices is strictly essential to realize an integrated service. The current traditional Internet has some issues about inter-connectivity among devices due to Network Address Port Translation (NAPT), different IP standards, etc. As a result, the current system usually employs a client-server model because a server is always accessible from any clients. However, the scalability of the client-server model will reach the limitation due to the enormous number of CPS devices. The authors have designed a new overlay network technology for cyberphysical communication called CYber PHysical Overlay Network over Internet Communication (CYPHONIC). CYPHONIC can provide end-to-end accessibility and IP mobility over IPv4 and IPv6 networks and realizes secure inter-communication among nodes based on Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). This paper designs the detail implementation of the simple prototype system that supports a basic communication mechanism of CYPHONIC. The prototype system consists of a cloud service for an authentification and an end-node management, and an end-node. It also provides the accessibility to IPv4 private networks from the Internet even if a NAPT router blocks incoming packets from the Internet. Coronary artery disease (CAD) is one of the top ten leading causes of death in countries worldwide. There are several methods used by physicians to diagnose CAD. One common method is the use of X-ray angiogram (XRA) images. When employing a computer-aided automatic analysis method to locate blood vessels in XRA images, problems such as complex background noise, low contrast, and difficulty in separating blood vessels from the background are encountered, especially for blood vessels with a low contrast to the background noise. In this study, we used various image preprocessing methods to highlight blood vessels from complex backgrounds and different types of blood vessel, followed by the employment of four superpixel segmentation methods to partition an image into multiple segments, and finally the utilization of Weighted Voting to determine the best superpixel algorithm. A genetic algorithm was used to identify the best weights by which to determine the locations of blood vessels in images of cardiac catheterization. Our proposed method achieved an average F1-score of 73.4% in the analysis of five patients, which was better than the other superpixel algorithms tested. The results of this research will be helpful for future SYNTAX score analysis. © 2023

In recent years, there is a movement to realize wireless sensor network by energy harvest. However, the power obtained by energy harvesting is very low. Therefore, ADC used for sensors need to have low power consumption. We realized low voltage and low power consumption by making the SAR ADC asynchronous by the delay circuit. © 2019 The Institute of Electrical Engineers of Japan.

In this research, we propose a method of extracting business segments from securities reports and extracting sentences containing causal and result information concerning business performance for each extracted business segments. For example, our method extracts "In the aluminum rolled products business, shipments of high purity foils for aluminum electrolytic capacitors for industrial equipment and automotive use increased and sales increased." as a sentence containing causal information concerning business performance. Moreover, our method estimates that the sentence belongs to business segment "aluminum". Our method extracts "As a result of this segment sales in this segment were 105,439 million yen, operating profit was 6,697 million yen." as a sentences containing performance result information belong to "aluminum" segment. We evaluated our method and the method of extracting sentences containing causal information attained 69.3% precision and 72.5% recall, and the method of extracting sentences containing performance result information attained 78.8% precision and 91.1% recall. © 2019, Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence. In recent years, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) have become one of the leading causes of mortality globally. CVDs appear with minor symptoms and progressively get worse. The majority of people experience symptoms such as exhaustion, shortness of breath, ankle swelling, fluid retention, and other symptoms when starting CVD. Coronary artery disease (CAD), arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, congenital heart defect (CHD), mitral regurgitation, and angina are the most common CVDs. Clinical methods such as blood tests, electrocardiography (ECG) signals, and medical imaging are the most effective methods used for the detection of CVDs. Among the diagnostic methods, cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) is increasingly used to diagnose, monitor the disease, plan treatment and predict CVDs. Coupled with all the advantages of CMR data, CVDs diagnosis is challenging for physicians due to many slices of data, low contrast, etc. To address these issues, deep learning (DL) techniques have been employed to the diagnosis of CVDs using CMR data, and much research is currently being conducted in this field. This review provides an overview of the studies performed in CVDs detection using CMR images and DL techniques. The introduction section examined CVDs types, diagnostic methods, and the most important medical imaging techniques. In the following, investigations to detect CVDs using CMR images and the most significant DL methods are presented. Another section discussed the challenges in diagnosing CVDs from CMR data. Next, the discussion section discusses the results of this review, and future work in CVDs diagnosis from CMR images and DL techniques are outlined. The purpose of this article is to give a characterization of families of expander graphs via right-angled Artin groups. We prove that a sequence of simplicial graphs {Γi}i∈ forms a family of expander graphs if and only if a certain natural mini-max invariant arising from the cup product in the cohomology rings of the groups {A(Γi)}i∈ agrees with the Cheeger constant of the sequence of graphs, thus allowing us to characterize expander graphs via cohomology. This result is proved in the more general framework of vector space expanders, a novel structure consisting of sequences of vector spaces equipped with vector-space-valued bilinear pairings which satisfy a certain mini-max condition. These objects can be considered to be analogues of expander graphs in the realm of linear algebra, with a dictionary being given by the cup product in cohomology, and in this context represent a different approach to expanders that those developed by Lubotzky-Zelmanov and Bourgain-Yehudayoff. Finite-time Analysis of Globally Nonstationary Multi-Armed Bandits

We consider nonstationary multi-armed bandit problems where the model parameters of the arms change over time. We introduce the adaptive resetting bandit (ADR-bandit), a bandit algorithm class that leverages adaptive windowing techniques from literature on data streams. We first provide new guarantees on the quality of estimators resulting from adaptive windowing techniques, which are of independent interest. Furthermore, we conduct a finite-time analysis of ADR-bandit in two typical environments: an abrupt environment where changes occur instantaneously and a gradual environment where changes occur progressively. We demonstrate that ADR-bandit has nearly optimal performance when abrupt or gradual changes occur in a coordinated manner that we call global changes. We demonstrate that forced exploration is unnecessary when we assume such global changes. Unlike the existing nonstationary bandit algorithms, ADR-bandit has optimal performance in stationary environments as well as nonstationary environments with global changes. Liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) are stimulus-responsive materials with intrinsic anisotropy. However, it is still challenging to in situ program the mesogen alignment to realize three-dimensional (3D) deformations with high-resolution patterned structures. This work presents a feasible strategy to program the anisotropy of LCEs by using chalcone mesogens that can undergo a photoinduced cycloaddition reaction under linear polarized light. It is shown that by controlling the polarization director and the irradiation region, patterned alignment distribution in a freestanding LCE film can be created, which leads to complex and reversible 3D shape-morphing behaviors. The work demonstrates an in situ light-writing method to achieve sophisticated topography changes in LCEs, which has potential applications in encryption, sensors, and beyond.

Goldilocks quantum cellular automata (QCA) have been simulated on quantum hardware and produce emergent small-world correlation networks. In Goldilocks QCA, a single-qubit unitary is applied to each qubit in a one-dimensional chain subject to a balance constraint: a qubit is updated if its neighbors are in opposite basis states. Here, we prove that a subclass of Goldilocks QCA—including the one implemented experimentally—map onto free fermions and therefore can be classically simulated efficiently. We support this claim with two independent proofs, one involving a Jordan–Wigner transformation and one mapping the integrable six-vertex model to QCA. We compute local conserved quantities of these QCA and predict experimentally measurable expectation values. These calculations can be applied to test large digital quantum computers against known solutions. In contrast, typical Goldilocks QCA have equilibration properties and quasienergy-level statistics that suggest nonintegrability. Still, the latter QCA conserve one quantity useful for error mitigation.
