When a neural net is used to solve continuous problems, the learning environment, which may influence convergence and accuracy, differs from that for true-false problems. Based on the energy model for a neural net, different activity levels of the net are generalized to learn one selected continuous problem-polynomial function. The training results showed that there are some optimal activity levels that lead the net to obtain better accuracy than that from other levels. The concepts of maximum energy and minimum energy (or 'thermal noise') are proposed to explain why it is possible for a net to achieve a good learning environment to fit to the continuous problems.< >

Job mobility is common in modern society, especially in the industry of information and communication technology. Job mobility prediction is valuable both for employees and employers. For the sake of lacking appropriate and sufficient records of job mobility, the traditional methods meet a significant challenge in job mobility prediction. Fortunately, the emerging professional social network provides a large amount of users' career histories, which can alleviate this problem. In this paper, we collect relevant data from LinkedIn, and analyze the temporal and spatial characteristics to model the job mobility pattern. We propose an approach to predict the company size and position for the next job by using various features, such as the position, duration, and size of previous companies, education degree, etc. The experimental results verify the proposed approach with the accuracy up to 72% and 74% in terms of next company size prediction and next position prediction respectively.

In this paper, we give a general model of random walks in time-random environment in any countable space. Moreover, when the environment is independently identically distributed, a recurrence-transience criterion and the law of large numbers are derived in the nearest-neighbor case on Z^1. At last, under regularity conditions, we prove that the RWIRE {Xn} on Z^1 satisfies a central limit theorem, which is similar to the corresponding results in the case of classical random walks.

In the environment of asymmetric information, the traditional Stackelberg game strategy is to be changed, and at the same time, the focus of the supply chain is to be shifted towards the lower stream. This paper discusses the integration and optimization of the closed-loop supply chain based on random demand in three different recycling models. The expected profit functions of the manufacturer, the retailer, and the third party are acquired in these models, and the equilibrium of profit sharing among different levels of the supply chain is reached through the game theory and upstream incentives. The paper also discusses the ways for each recycling model to affect the wholesale price, retail price, and the profit of the whole channel, compares and analyses their differences in both stimulating the recycling and the supply chain profit.

In order to better preserve the characteristic of an image, we must take different diffusions in different regions; therefore a weight function is used to induce diffusion in the gradient direction. Through simulated EEG we investigate the effect of the forward model's applied skull:scalp conductivity ratio on the source reconstruction performance. We show that having a higher conductivity ratio generally leads to improvement of the solution. Additionally we see a clear connection between higher conductivity ratios and lower coherence, thus a reduction of the ill-posedness of the EEG inverse problem. Finally we show on real EEG data the stability of the strongest source recovered across conductivity ratios.
