The rapid development of the Internet has revo-lutionized our lives, providing us with an array of convenient services. However, this revolution has also led to the problem of data overload. Personalized recommendation services have been widely recognized as an effective solution to this problem by both the industrial and academic communities. Accurate prediction of click-through rate (CTR) is a critical task in personalized recommendation systems since it can improve the user’s shopping experience, ultimately increasing revenue for the platform. To achieve accurate CTR prediction, it is crucial to capture user interests. While several methods for interest modeling exist, challenges related to user interest evolution and user behavior noise need further attention. This paper proposes a novel CTR prediction model named the Evolutionary Interest Representation Network (EIRN), which learns the evolving interest representation of users from their behaviors, profiles, and environmental attributes. In the model, we introduce an advertisement correlation graph decomposition layer and a noise filter layer to enhance and purify the user behavior representation. An interest extraction layer is designed to capture sequential correlations and common characteristics between user behaviors, representing their interests. Additionally, as user interests evolve over time and their importance changes, an attention-based interest evolution layer is designed to track the evolution of user interests. Our proposed method is validated using four public datasets and an industrial dataset, showing its superiority over existing CTR prediction methods.

This study aims to explore the effects of different human-machine interfaces, system performance, and robot interaction modalities on over-trust in chat companion robot systems. We designed and implemented three types of interfaces: 2D Virtual Interface + Virtual Robot, 3D Augmented Reality Interface + AR-based Virtual Robot, and 3D Real World + NAO Physical Robot. We also manipulated the system performance (high or low) and the robot interaction modality (language, gesture, or both). We conducted a user study with 30 participants, who interacted with the chat companion robot under different conditions and rated their trust, distrust, and human-robot distance. We also measured the user experience in terms of usefulness and ease of use. The results showed that the type of interface significantly influenced the trust, distrust, and human-robot distance of the users, and that the 3D augmented reality interface was the most effective in enhancing trust and reducing distrust and distance. The performance of the system also affected the trust and distance of the users, and the gesture interface was the most sensitive to the performance variation. The modality of the interaction did not have a significant impact on the dependent variables. The user experience ratings also indicated that the 3D augmented reality interface was the most useful and easy to use. The implications and limitations of these findings are discussed in the paper. © 2023 ACM.

A transmissive broadband wide-angle linear-to-circular polarization converter based on metal strips loaded metasurface is proposed in this paper. The converter is composed of three metallic layers separated by dielectric substrates and the metal strips printed on each layer keep orthogonal to each other. To further investigate the operating mechanism of the design, equivalent circuit models are presented. Moreover, the converter is verified to be effective in polarization conversion through the full-wave simulation. With the insertion loss less than 2 dB and 3 dB, the simulation 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth keeps 67% and 76%, respectively. Furthermore, at an increased incident angle of 40°, the device can still maintain an AR bandwidth over 47% at 2 dB insertion loss, which manifests the validity and rationality of the converter design.

In this paper, a novel band stop decoupling structure (BSDS) for circularly polarized microstrip antenna array with different intervals to realize mutual coupling reduction is proposed. The BSDS is composed of complementary split-rings resonator (CSRRs) and split-rings resonator (SRRs), where the CSRRs block TM waves by electric resonance and the SRRs block TE waves by magnetic resonance, respectively. The proposed design is verified by the simulation and the results indicate that the isolation enhancement more than 35 dB can be obtained at the center frequency of 3.4 GHz when the center spacing is 0.37 $\lambda$0. Futhermore, when the center spacing reduces to 0.26 $\lambda$0, the mutual coupling remains below 25 dB. Besides, the BSDS can improve the radiation pattern offset without affecting the gain and the backward radiation of antennas.

Timed weighted marked graphs are a subclass of timed Petri nets that have wide applications in the control and performance analysis of flexible manufacturing *** to the existence of multiplicities(i.e.,weights)on edges,the performance analysis and resource optimization of such graphs represent a challenging *** this paper,we develop an approach to transform a timed weighted marked graph whose initial marking is not given,into an equivalent parametric timed marked graph where the edges have unitary *** order to explore an optimal resource allocation policy for a system,an analytical method is developed for the resource optimization of timed weighted marked graphs by studying an equivalent ***,we apply the proposed method to a flexible manufacturing system and compare the results with a previous heuristic *** analysis shows that the developed approach is superior to the heuristic approach.

In recent years, deep transfer learning has been widely applied in fault diagnosis. In particular, domain adaptation method to solve unsupervised transfer learning problem has become a research hotspot. However, these researches mainly focus on the construction of loss function, and the design of network structure still depends on manual work. A differentiable neural architecture search method is proposed to automatically search for network structures suitable for domain adaptation in fault diagnosis to solve this problem. The proposed method search for two components in the Inception search space: structures of Inception blocks and feature mask. Inception blocks are stacked to form a complete network, and the feature mask selects the features for domain adaptation. Besides, to improve the search efficiency, we search and adapt multiple target domains at the same time, expanding the application scenarios of domain adaptation. The proposed method is evaluated on two datasets, and experiments show that this method can generate networks with excellent performance. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The phase-switched screen (PSS) can change the reflected echo of the target through a certain control method, thereby generating false targets. The study of material properties and the impact of materials on radar has attracted a lot of attention from the academic community. However, there are few studies on the influence of signal echo changes caused by artificial surface metamaterials on radar resources. In this paper, using PSS to change radar echo information to generate false targets in the Doppler frequency domain. Then the multi-false targets jamming effect on radar resources and multi-target tracking is analyzed. simulation results show that these targets can consume radar search and tracking resources, generate a large number of temporary trails. This research is beneficial to the application of PSS for interference radar resources.

Multiplexed model predictive attitude control for nadir-pointing satellite using only magnetorquers

Due to the low failure risk of magnetorquers, the control strategy based on magnetic actuators can significantly enhance the reliability of the satellite attitude control system. In light of this advantage, this paper conducts research on model predictive control (MPC) algorithm for nadir-pointing satellites equipped only with magnetorquers. Firstly, to facilitate controller design, the linear time-varying (LTV) model for nadir-pointing satellites is derived by linearizing the nonlinear equations around the operating point. Then, leveraging this linearized representation, an LTV multiplexed MPC (MMPC) method with exponential weighting is proposed. The MMPC scheme allows for faster sampling rates and quicker responses to disturbances, thereby enhancing the overall performance of the satellite attitude control system while retaining the benefits of MPC. Finally, compared with a state-of-the-art SMPC method, the proposed method is particularly advantageous in situations where computational resources are limited, specifically for satellites that rely only on onboard computing capabilities. © 2025
