Due to the diversification of software and hardware resources in cloud and ever-changing demand for deployment, Hadoop deployment is faced with great challenges in difficulty and complexity. Most of present researches lie in environment configuration and parameter setting of deployment, they do not take into account diversification of infrastructure and scalability issues in cloud. In order to quickly customize, deploy and expand Hadoop services according to the demand, a model-driven approach to Hadoop deployment is proposed in the paper. Firstly, Hadoop demand and deployment models are presented. Secondly, the transformation method from the demand model to the deployment model is proposed. Thirdly, the bidirectional synchronization between Hadoop deployment model and running system is realized based on runtime model.

The objective of optimizing a projection matrix is to decrease the mutual coherence between a projection matrix and a basis matrix. In this paper, a novel block-based method is proposed to design a projection matrix in compressed sensing. Here, the projection matrix is divided into two blocks. The relationship between the two blocks was obtained by reasoning and proving. Theoretical analysis demonstrates that the mutual coherence between the whole projection matrix and the whole basis matrix keeps as good as the mutual coherence between the block matrix and blocked basis matrix. Experimental results show that the proposed method obtains better performance compared to existing methods.

Among all segmentation techniques, Otsu thresholding method is widely used. Line intercept histogram based Otsu thresholding method(LIH Otsu method) can be more resistant to Gaussian noise, highly efficient in computing time, and can be easily extended to multilevel thresholding. But when images contain salt-and-pepper noise, LIH Otsu method performs poorly. An improved LIH Otsu method(ILIH Otsu method) is presented, which can be more resistant to Gaussian noise and salt-and-pepper noise. Moreover, it can be easily extended to multilevel thresholding. In order to improve the efficiency, the optimization algorithm based on the kinetic-molecular theory(KMTOA) is used to determine the optimal thresholds. The experimental results show that ILIH Otsu method has stronger anti-noise ability than two-dimensional Otsu thresholding method(2-D Otsu method), LIH Otsu method, K-means clustering algorithm and fuzzy clustering algorithm.

Superconvergence and asymptotic expansions for bilinear finite volume element approximation on non-uniform grids

We initially derive an asymptotic expansion and a high accuracy combination formula of the derivatives in the sense of pointwise for the isoparametric bilinear finite volume element scheme by employing the energy-embedded method on some non-uniform grids. Furthermore, we prove that the approximate derivatives are convergent of order two. Numerical examples confirm theoretical results.

The nonlinear metamaterials have been shown to provide nonlinear properties with high nonlinear conversion efficiency and in a myriad of light manipulation. Here we study terahertz generation from nonlinear metasurface consisting of single layer nanoscale split-ring resonator array. The terahertz generation due to optical rectification by the second-order nonlinearity of the split-ring resonator is investigated by a time-domain implementation of the hydrodynamic model for electron dynamics in metal. The results show that the nonlinear metasurface enables us to generate broadband terahertz radiation and free from quasi-phase-matching conditions. The proposed scheme provides a new concept of broadband THz source and designing nonlinear plasmonic metamaterials. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Lupus erythematosus (LE) has the reputation of being the Great Imitator due to its various cutaneous manifestations, which often lead to difficulties in accurate diagnosis and classification. Even with the assistance of deep learning systems (DLSs), clinical skin image-based single modalities still experience difficulty distinguishing subtypes of LE. Here, we present an application of multimodal DLS (MMDLS), in which the training database consists of clinical skin images, multi-immunohistochemistry (multi-IHC) images and the 2019 European League Against Rheumatism/American College of Rheumatology (EULAR/ACR) scores, to assist in the classification of LE subtypes (discoid LE (DLE), annular subacute cutaneous LE (A-SCLE), papulosquamous subacute cutaneous LE (P-SCLE), systemic LE (SLE)) and to aid in the differential diagnosis of other similar skin diseases. A total of 386 cases with 580 clinical skin images, 3380 multi-IHC images and 2019 EULAR/ACR scores from 25 institutions in China were included, and EfficientNet-B3 and ResNet-18 were utilized in this study. By comparing the single-modal and dual-modal DLS performances in multiple classifications, we demonstrate the superiority of the MMDLS (Ave-Sen = 0.9116, Ave-Spe = 0.9921, Ave-Pre = 0.9281). Moreover, the performance of MMDLS on 13 classifications was superior to that of dermatologists and pathologists (F1 score: dermatologists = 0.4471, pathologists = 0.6691, MMDLS = 0.9582) with an average area under the curve (AUC) of 0.9956. These results highlight the potential of the combined application of MMDLS and multi-IHC images to assist pathologists and dermatologists in diagnosing LE subtypes and similar skin diseases. © 2021, CC BY.

DLTree: efficient and accurate phylogeny reconstruction using the dynamical language method

SUMMARY:A number of alignment-free methods have been proposed for phylogeny reconstruction over the past two decades. But there are some long-standing challenges in these methods, including requirement of huge computer memory and CPU time, and existence of duplicate computations. In this article, we address these challenges with the idea of compressed vector, fingerprint and scalable memory management. With these ideas we developed the DLTree algorithm for efficient implementation of the dynamical language model and whole genome-based phylogenetic analysis. The DLTree algorithm was compared with other alignment-free tools, demonstrating that it is more efficient and accurate for phylogeny reconstruction. Effective user interest prediction is significant for service providers in a set of application scenarios such as user behavior analysis and resource recommendation. However, existing approaches are either incomplete or proprietary. In this paper, user interest prediction based on the Markov chain modeling on clustered users is proposed with the following procedure: collect dataset from 4613 users and more than 16 million messages from Sina Weibo;obtain each user's interest eigenvalue sequence and establish single-Markov chain model;and implement user clustering algorithm for the multi-Markov chain construction in order to divide users into a set of predefined interest categories. The proposed solution is capable of predicting both long-term and short-term user interests based on a suitable selection of the initial state distribution, λ. The proposed solution also proves that short-term interests are consistent with long-term interests if the influences of social or user-related events that cause interruptions (e.g., earthquake and birthday) are not considered. Furthermore, experiments show that the proposed solution is feasible and efficient and can achieve a higher accuracy of prediction than that of the other approaches such as Support Vector Machine (SVM) and K-means.
