Recently, unsupervised image denoising methods learning from paired noisy samples have received increasing attention. These methods build on the idea that the mean of multiple noisy images of the same scene is the ideal clean image. However, these methods ignore the effect of Aleatoric uncertainty in the noisy image (e.g., pixels deviating from the expected distribution). The presence of Aleatoric uncertainty causes degradation of the reconstructed target pixels, resulting in high uncertainty for these pixels (i.e., low confidence), which in turn leads to sub-optimal denoising results. To address this problem, we propose a novel uncertainty-aware unsupervised image denoising method named Uncer2Natural (U2N). It dynamically predicts the Aleatoric uncertainty for each noisy sample and produces satisfactory denoising results by reducing the effect of Aleatoric uncertainty. Extensive experimental results show that U2N outperforms state-of-the- art unsupervised image denoising methods in terms of both quantitative metrics and qualitative visual quality. © 2023 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) detection in the wild is a challenging task due to the presence of background noise and the varying size of the object. To address these obstacles, we propose a novel learning framework for robust UAV detectors, which we call Difference-based Multi-scale Learning (DML). We argue that motion information matters in UAV detection because of the low recognition in one frame. Our method utilizes the frame difference of multiple previous frames, extracting motion information and blocking background noise. We also fuse multiple spatial-temporal scales for training and inferencing, enabling fusion from different sources. In addition, to better evaluate the performance of UAV detection in different scales, we propose Multi-Scale Average Precision (MSAP) metric to aggregate the detection accuracy over multiple scales. Through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that our proposed approach improves the detection accuracy of baseline models. Notably, we achieve SOTA performance in the 3rd Anti-UAV Challenge, with 2nd place in Track 2 and 4th place in Track 1. © 2023 IEEE.

Recent years have seen the wide application of natural language processing(NLP)models in crucial areas such as finance,medical treatment,and news media,raising concerns about the model robustness and *** find that prompt paradigm can probe special robust defects of pre-trained language *** prompt texts are first constructed for inputs and a pre-trained language model can generate adversarial examples for victim models via *** results show that prompt paradigm can efficiently generate more diverse adversarial examples besides synonym ***,we propose a novel robust training approach based on prompt paradigm which incorporates prompt texts as the alternatives to adversarial examples and enhances robustness under a lightweight minimax-style optimization *** on three real-world tasks and two deep neural models show that our approach can significantly improve the robustness of models to resist adversarial attacks.

With the rapid development of Internet technology and the continuous explosive growth of network traffic, Traffic Engineering (TE), as a viable method for optimizing network traffic distribution and improving network performance, attracts widespread attention from both industry and academia. Software Defined Networks (SDN), which decouples the data plane and the control plane, realizes a flexible routing and improves the TE performance. Existing TE approaches in SDN mainly utilize Reinforcement Learning (RL) methods to learn the mapping relationship between network traffic and routing policies. However, due to the continuous expansion of network size and dynamic changes in traffic, the enlargement of traffic state space hinders RL from converging to the optimal routing policy, leading to a decline in network performance. To address these issues, this paper presents a TE method based on unsupervised contrastive representation and RL. This method first shrinks the original traffic state space by efficiently extracting traffic features through Contrastive Learning (CL), aiding quick convergence of RL. It then uses RL to directly learn the mapping from traffic features to traffic splitting policies. Finally, through numerous experiments on real network traffic and topology, it demonstrates that the proposed TE method can effectively achieve load balancing of network traffic under complex and volatile dynamic traffic demands, thereby enhancing network performance. © 2024 IEEE.

With the continuous development of intelligent transportation technologies such as autonomous driving and navigation, accurate perception of road markings becomes crucial. However, due to limitations in sensor perspectives and obstacles blocking the view, the scanned point cloud of road markings is often incomplete, potentially leading to erroneous decisions in intelligent transportation systems. Therefore, it becomes imperative to recover complete road markings from these incomplete point clouds. This paper proposes a text-guided road marking completion method, which integrates text information with point cloud data using attention mechanisms. By leveraging text information to guide the network in completing road marking point clouds, the proposed method aims to enhance the perception accuracy and completeness of road markings. Experimental validation on road marking datasets demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed approach. © 2024 IEEE.

The investigation of the optoelectronic characteristics of all-perovskite tandem solar cells holds pivotal significance in surpassing the Shockley-Queisser limit of single-junction perovskite solar cells. Initially, we established two distinct four-terminal tandem solar cells (4T TSCs) composed of different perovskite materials: FA0.8Cs0.2Pb(I0.7Br0.3)3 (Eg = 1.75 eV) and MASnI3 (Eg = 1.3 eV). Through numerical simulations of the optoelectronic characteristics of 4T TSCs, we evaluated the performance of the TSCs at varying perovskite layer thicknesses. Following optimization, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of the 4T TSCs increased from the initial 30.34% to 33.54%. Through an in-depth analysis of the cell and energy distribution in TSCs, it was observed that the light-coupling layer significantly influenced the PCE of the 4T TSCs. Upon optimizing the light-coupling layer, the PCE of the TSC increased from the initial 30.34% to 34.7%. This study provides crucial theoretical and experimental foundations for optimizing the performance of all-perovskite TSCs. © 2024 IEEE.

Hybrid particle swarm optimization with adaptive learning strategy

Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is a meta-heuristic algorithm that can be used to solve different real-world optimization problems. However, PSO suffers from some intrinsic drawbacks, including falling into local optimal and slow convergence in the latter evolution process. To deal with these issues, a hybrid PSO with adaptive learning strategy (abbreviated as HPSO-ALS) is proposed in this paper. To start with, the chaotic opposition-learning method is employed to generate the uniformly distributed particles so as to enhance the quality of the initial swarm. Next, a self-logical mapping-based nonlinear decreasing inertia weight is formulated to trade off the global search and local search abilities. Meanwhile, different adaptive position updating strategies are leveraged to achieve better convergence according to different evolution status. In addition, inspired by the cask effect, the global worst particle (gworst) is introduced into the velocity updating to make full use of the potential information of the particles. Finally, extensive experiments on sixteen benchmark functions and CEC’13 test suite have verified the promising performance of HPSO-ALS proposed in this paper. Alternatively, HPSO-ALS is also applied to the classical traveling salesman problem (TSP) and the experimental results have further validated the effectiveness and efficiency of our proposal. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The growing interest in generating recipes from food images has drawn substantial research attention in recent years. Existing works for recipe generation primarily utilize a two-stage training method - first predicting ingredients from a food image and then generating instructions from both the image and ingredients. Large Multi-modal Models (LMMs), which have achieved notable success across a variety of vision and language tasks, shed light on generating both ingredients and instructions directly from images. Nevertheless, LMMs still face the common issue of hallu-cinations during recipe generation, leading to suboptimal performance. To tackle this issue, we propose a retrieval augmented large multimodal model for recipe generation. We first introduce Stochastic Diversified Retrieval Augmentation (SDRA) to retrieve recipes semantically related to the image from an existing datastore as a supplement, integrating them into the prompt to add diverse and rich context to the input image. Additionally, Self-Consistency Ensemble Voting mechanism is proposed to determine the most confident prediction recipes as the final output. It calculates the consistency among generated recipe candidates, which use different retrieval recipes as context for generation. Extensive experiments validate the effectiveness of our proposed method, which demonstrates state-of-the-art (SOTA) performance in recipe generation on the Recipe1M dataset. © 2025 IEEE.

Continual Semantic Segmentation (CSS) aims to continuously learn new classes while mitigating catastrophic forgetting. Existing CSS methods primarily address this challenge through knowledge distillation. While they focus on maintaining stability for old classes, this emphasis often restricts plasticity in learning new ones. In this work, we propose two plug-and-play methods to better balance stability and plasticity. First, for feature map distillation, we replace pixel-level constraints with statistical information extraction within a window, improving the learning of new classes while preserving structural integrity to overcome forgetting. Second, we use relative ranks of predictions to replace exact probabilistic values to loosen the constraints in the logit distribution of old classes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our methods outperform state-of-the-art methods when integrating into several baselines across various CSS scenarios. © 2025 IEEE.
