Discriminative semantic feature pyramid network with guided anchoring for logo detection

Recently, logo detection has received more and more attention for its wide applications in the multimedia field, such as intellectual property protection, product brand management, and logo duration monitoring. Unlike general object detection, logo detection is a challenging task, especially for small logo objects and large aspect ratio logo objects in the real-world scenario. In this paper, we propose a novel approach, named Discriminative Semantic Feature Pyramid Network with Guided Anchoring (DSFP-GA), which can address these challenges via aggregating the semantic information and generating different aspect ratio anchor boxes. More specifically, our approach mainly consists of Discriminative Semantic Feature Pyramid (DSFP) and Guided Anchoring (GA). Considering that low-level feature maps that are used to detect small logo objects lack semantic information, we propose the DSFP, which can enrich more discriminative semantic features of low-level feature maps and can achieve better performance on small logo objects. Furthermore, preset anchor boxes are less efficient for detecting large aspect ratio logo objects. We therefore integrate the GA into our method to generate large aspect ratio anchor boxes to mitigate this issue. Extensive experimental results on four benchmarks demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed DSFP-GA. Pseudo-code written by natural language is helpful for novice developers' program comprehension. However, writing such pseudo-code is time-consuming and laborious. Motivated by the research advancements of sequence-to-sequence learning and code semantic learning, we propose a novel deep pseudo-code generation method DeepPseudo via code feature extraction and Transformer. In particular, DeepPseudo utilizes a Transformer encoder to perform encoding for source code and then use a code feature extractor to learn the knowledge of local features. Finally, it uses a pseudo-code generator to perform decoding, which can generate the corresponding pseudo-code. We choose two corpora (i.e., Django and SPoC) from real-world large-scale projects as our empirical subjects. We first compare DeepPseudo with seven state-of-the-art baselines from pseudo-code generation and neural machine translation domains in terms of four performance measures. Results show the competitiveness of DeepPseudo. Moreover, we also analyze the rationality of the component settings in DeepPseudo.

Focusing on the issue of how to effectively capture and utilize cross-modality information in RGB-D salient object detection (SOD) task, we present a convolutional neural network (CNN) model, named CIR-Net, based on the novel cross-modality interaction and refinement. For the cross-modality interaction, 1) a progressive attention guided integration unit is proposed to sufficiently integrate RGB-D feature representations in the encoder stage, and 2) a convergence aggregation structure is proposed, which flows the RGB and depth decoding features into the corresponding RGB-D decoding streams via an importance gated fusion unit in the decoder stage. For the cross-modality refinement, we insert a refinement middleware structure between the encoder and the decoder, in which the RGB, depth, and RGB-D encoder features are further refined by successively using a self-modality attention refinement unit and a cross-modality weighting refinement unit. At last, with the gradually refined features, we predict the saliency map in the decoder stage. Extensive experiments on six popular RGB-D SOD benchmarks demonstrate that our network outperforms the state-of-the-art saliency detectors both qualitatively and quantitatively. With the advent of the intelligence era, the usage and investment for chips have risen year by year, causing the demand for chip security. Machine learning (ML) analysis has made progress as a pre-silicon hardware Trojan (HT) detection technology. Whereas the performance of existing methods almost relies on the accuracy of multi-feature representation, moreover, it is difficult to extract features manually and easily cause unstable classifier performance (namely uncertainty). In this paper, an automatic feature extraction detecting model is first proposed, named HTtext, which generates simple path sentences from chip netlists and employs TextCNN, a deep learning algorithm, to distinguish HT circuits. The pre-training for TextCNN only uses the automatic single-feature calculation to avoid the uncertainty problem. Additionally, the model can obtain non-repetitive HT component information expression, which satisfies the stable detection performance. To measure the efficiency and balance of the model, the paper proposes the concept of the Stability Efficiency Index (SEI). In the experimental results for the benchmark netlists, not only the average accuracy (ACC) in TextCNN is as high as 99.26%, but also its SEI value ranks first in all comparison classifiers, which proves that the proposed HTtext model has high stability in generality.

Errors in semantic segmentation could be classified into two types: the large area misclassification and inaccurate local boundaries. Previously attention-based methods typically capture rich global contextual information, which benefits the large area classification but cannot address the local errors of boundaries. In this paper, we propose a Global-Local Attention Network (GLANet) which can simultaneously consider the global context and local details. Specifically, our GLANet consists of two branches: (1) the global attention branch and (2) local attention branch. Furthermore, three different modules are embedded in GLANet for respectively modelling the semantic interdependencies in spatial, channel and boundary dimension. Lastly, we merge the outputs of different branches to enhance the feature representation further, resulting in more precise segmentation. Overall, the proposed method achieves the competitive segmentation accuracy on two public aerial image datasets, bringing significant improvements over the existing baselines.

Exploiting Completeness and Uncertainty of Pseudo Labels for Weakly Supervised Video Anomaly Detection

Weakly supervised video anomaly detection aims to identify abnormal events in videos using only video-level labels. Recently, two-stage self-training methods have achieved significant improvements by self-generating pseudo labels and self-refining anomaly scores with these labels. As the pseudo labels play a crucial role, we propose an enhancement framework by exploiting completeness and uncertainty properties for effective self-training. Specifically, we first design a multi-head classification module (each head serves as a classifier) with a diversity loss to maximize the distribution differences of predicted pseudo labels across heads. This encourages the generated pseudo labels to cover as many abnormal events as possible. We then devise an iterative uncertainty pseudo label refinement strategy, which improves not only the initial pseudo labels but also the updated ones obtained by the desired classifier in the second stage. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the proposed method performs favorably against state-of-the-art approaches on the UCF-Crime, TAD, and XD-Violence benchmark datasets. UniCon: Unified context network for robust active speaker detection

We introduce a new efficient framework, the Unified Context Network (UniCon), for robust active speaker detection (ASD). Traditional methods for ASD usually operate on each candidate's precropped face track separately and do not sufficiently consider the relationships among the candidates. This potentially limits performance, especially in challenging scenarios with low-resolution faces, multiple candidates, etc. Our solution is a novel, unified framework that focuses on jointly modeling multiple types of contextual information: spatial context to indicate the position and scale of each candidate's face, relational context to capture the visual relationships among the candidates and contrast audio-visual affinities with each other, and temporal context to aggregate long-term information and smooth out local uncertainties. Based on such information, our model optimizes all candidates in a unified process for robust and reliable ASD. A thorough ablation study is performed on several challenging ASD benchmarks under different settings. In particular, our method outperforms the state-of-the-art by a large margin of about 15% mean Average Precision (mAP) absolute on two challenging subsets: one with three candidate speakers, and the other with faces smaller than 64 pixels. Together, our UniCon achieves 92.0% mAP on the AVA-ActiveSpeaker validation set, surpassing 90% for the first time on this challenging dataset at the time of submission. PROM: A persistent routing optimization method based on supervised learning

Traditional Traffic Engineering (TE) typically improves network performance by formulating and solving routing optimization problems based on measured or predicted Traffic Matrices (TMs). However, since network traffic is dynamic, routing strategies optimized for the current measured TMs may not be suitable for future traffic patterns. To adapt to dynamic traffic, one possible solution is to perform more frequent routing updates, but this may lead to service disruptions. Another approach is the two-step method of prediction followed by optimization, which could lead to degraded performance of routing strategies due to inaccuracies in traffic prediction. Additionally, existing approaches focus solely on either distributed or centralized networks, lacking flexibility to adapt to different network architectures. To address these challenges, we propose PROM, a Machine Learning (ML)-based routing optimization model that directly predicts an effective routing strategy in an end-to-end manner based on historical traffic. This routing strategy is applicable across multiple future TMs, thereby reducing the need for frequent routing updates. Furthermore, PROM can be easily extended from a centralized implementation to a distributed one, adapting to different network architectures. To enhance model performance, we have also designed a custom loss function for routing optimization scenarios to avoid overfitting. Extensive simulation results demonstrate that PROM can predict high-quality routing strategies in future unknown traffic scenarios and is adaptable to both centralized and distributed network architectures.

Knowledge Graph is an important research field that involves the storage and management of knowledge, but the incompleteness and sparsity of Knowledge Graphs hinder their application in many fields. Knowledge Graph Reasoning aims to alleviate this problem by completing missing paths or identifying wrong paths between entities. Graph Convolution Network (GCN) based methods are one of the state-of-the-art approaches to this work. However, it is difficult to directly generalize to unknown nodes and utilizes valid information from the local neighborhood which results in poor flexibility and extensibility and will loss of important information. This paper presents EG-KGR, a plug-and-play knowledge reasoning model based on enhanced graph sampling and aggregate inductive learning algorithm to relieve the above problems and enhance existing GCN-based methods. Specifically, EG-KGR supports incremental characteristics, uses inductive learning to replace transductive learning, and designs random sampling and local information sampling optimization methods to improve the model's generalization ability, prediction accuracy, and running speed. Extensive experimental results show that our EG-KGR can achieve optimal results.
