Multimodal Sentiment Analysis is a burgeoning research area, leveraging various modalities to predict the sentiment score. Nevertheless, previous studies have disregarded the impact of noise interference on specific modal sentiments during video recording, thereby compromising the accuracy of sentiment prediction. In this paper, we propose the Guided Circular Decomposition and Cross-Modal Recombination (GCD-CMR) model, which aims to eliminate contaminated sentiment features in a fine-grained way. To achieve this, we utilize tailored global information specific to each modality to guide the circular decomposing process in the GCD module, to produce a set of sentiment prototypes. Subsequently, in the CMR module, we align cross-modal sentiment prototypes and remove the contaminated prototypes for recombination. Experimental results on two publicly available datasets demonstrate that our model surpasses state-of-the-art models, confirming the effectiveness of our proposed method. The film industry exerts significant economic and cultural influence, and its rapid development is contingent upon the expertise of industry professionals, underscoring the critical importance of film-shooting education. However, this process typically necessitates multiple practice in complex professional venues using expensive equipment, presenting a significant obstacle for ordinary learners who struggle to access such training environments. Despite VR technology has already shown its potential in education, existing research has not addressed the crucial learning component of replicating the shooting process. Moreover, the limited functionality of traditional controllers hinder the fulfillment of the educational requirements. Therefore, we developed VAction VR system, combining high-fidelity virtual environments with a custom-designed controller to simulate the real-world camera operation experience. The system's lightweight design ensures cost-effective and efficient deployment. Experiment results demonstrated that VAction significantly outperforms traditional methods in both practice effectiveness and user experience, indicating its potential and usefulness in film-shooting education. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Airway extraction is paramount in the early diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases. As a tree-like structure, both topological-aware learning and voxel-wise classification are equally crucial for the airway. However, existing methods demonstrate insufficient topological learning, emphasizing only the supervision of individual key topological points. Consequently, this paper proposes a Explicit Topological Modeling (ExpTopo) approach to aid airway segmentation. It explicitly introduces topological metric space learning based on semantic segmentation, enhancing the model's structural perception by implementing global skeleton-level sparse topological learning (STL) and local voxel-level dense topological perception (DTP). Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm achieves competitive performance at both the topological and voxel levels. Code will be available in https://***/MorineZ/ExpTopo.

The 3D generative adversarial network (GAN) inversion converts an image into 3D representation to attain high-fidelity reconstruction and facilitate realistic image manipulation within the 3D latent space. However, previous approaches face challenges regarding the trade-off between the reconstruction ability and editability. That is, reversing a real-world image to a low-dimensional latent code would inevitably lead to information loss, and achieving a near-perfect reconstruction using high-rate triplane representation often limits the ability to manipulate the image freely in the latent space. To address these issues, we propose a novel latent conditioning encoder-based framework with the alignment between the low-dimensional latent and high-dimensional triplane. A non-semantic guided editing strategy bridges the intrinsic relation between the latent condition and triplane generation, making it possible to edit the high-dimensional representation by latent manipulation. As a result, our method can achieve high-fidelity reconstruction and editing simultaneously by directly controlling the latent code. Experimental results demonstrate that our approach excels in reconstruction and editing quality compared to previous 3D inversion methods. Furthermore, our method can also edit even real faces with large poses and out-of-domain cases.

This paper focuses on solving the capacitated arc routing problem with time-dependent service costs (CARPTDSC), which is motivated by winter gritting applications. In the current literature, exact algorithms designed for CARPTDSC can only handle small-scale instances, while heuristic algorithms fail to obtain high-quality solutions. To overcome these limitations, we propose a novel dual-stage algorithm, called MAENS-GN, that consists of a routing stage and a vehicle departure time optimization stage. The former obtains the routing plan, while the the latter determines the vehicle departure time. Importantly, existing literature often ignores the characteristic information contained in the relationship between the route cost and the vehicle departure time. The most signiﬁcant innovation in this paper lies in the exploitation of this characteristic information during the vehicle departure time optimization stage. Speciﬁcally, we conduct a detailed analysis of this relationship under various scenarios and employ tailored methods to obtain the (approximately) optimal vehicle departure time. Furthermore, we propose an improved initialization strategy that considers time-dependent characteristics to achieve better solution quality. In addition to the modiﬁed benchmark test sets, we also experiment on a real-world test set. Experimental results demonstrate that MAENS-GN can obtain high-quality solutions on both small-scale and larger-scale instances of CARPTDSC. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Agent-SiMT: Agent-Assisted Simultaneous Translation With Large Language Models

Simultaneous Machine Translation (SiMT) generates target translations in real-time while reading the source sentence. It relies on a policy to determine the optimal timing for producing translations, aiming to achieve both low response latency and high translation quality. Existing SiMT methods typically utilize the traditional Transformer architecture, employing complicated dynamic programming algorithms to jointly optimize policy decisions and translation generation. While these methods excel at determining policies, their translation capabilities are suboptimal. In contrast, Large Language Models (LLMs), trained on extensive corpora, exhibit exceptional generation capabilities but struggle to learn translation policies through traditional Transformer-based training methods. To address these limitations, we introduce Agent-SiMT, a novel framework combining the strengths of LLMs and traditional SiMT methods. Agent-SiMT contains a policy-decision agent and a translation agent. The policy-decision agent is managed by a SiMT model, which determines the policy using partial source sentences and translations. The translation agent, powered by an LLM, generates the target translation according to the policy decisions. These two agents work collaboratively to perform SiMT. Experiments demonstrate that our method attains state-of-the-art performance.

Learning Parallax Transformer Network for Stereo Image JPEG Artifacts Removal

Under stereo settings, the performance of image JPEG artifacts removal can be further improved by exploiting the additional information provided by a second view. However, incorporating this information for stereo image JPEG artifacts removal is a huge challenge, since the existing compression artifacts make pixel-level view alignment difficult. In this paper, we propose a novel parallax transformer network (PTNet) to integrate the information from stereo image pairs for stereo image JPEG artifacts removal. Specifically, a well-designed symmetric bi-directional parallax transformer module is proposed to match features with similar textures between different views instead of pixel-level view alignment. Due to the issues of occlusions and boundaries, a confidence-based cross-view fusion module is proposed to achieve better feature fusion for both views, where the cross-view features are weighted with confidence maps. Especially, we adopt a coarse-to-fine design for the cross-view interaction, leading to better performance. Comprehensive experimental results demonstrate that our PTNet can effectively remove compression artifacts and achieves superior performance than other testing state-of-the-art methods. © 2022, CC BY.

Medical image segmentation has made significant progress when a large amount of labeled data are available. However, annotating medical image segmentation datasets is expensive due to the requirement of professional skills. Additionally, classes are often unevenly distributed in medical images, which severely affects the classification performance on minority classes. To address these problems, this paper proposes Co-Distribution Alignment (Co-DA) for semi-supervised medical image segmentation. Specifically, Co-DA aligns marginal predictions on unlabeled data to marginal predictions on labeled data in a class-wise manner with two differently initialized models before using the pseudo-labels generated by one model to supervise the other. Besides, we design an over-expectation cross-entropy loss for filtering the unlabeled pixels to reduce noise in their pseudo-labels. Quantitative and qualitative experiments on three public datasets demonstrate that the proposed approach outperforms existing state-of-the-art semi-supervised medical image segmentation methods on both the 2D CaDIS dataset and the 3D LGE-MRI and ACDC datasets, achieving an mIoU of 0.8515 with only 24% labeled data on CaDIS, and a Dice score of 0.8824 and 0.8773 with only 20% data on LGE-MRI and ACDC, respectively. Multi-Scale Structure-Guided Graph Generation for Multi-View Semi-Supervised Classification

Graph convolutional network has emerged as a focal point in machine learning because of its robust graph processing capability. Most existing graph convolutional network-based approaches are designed for single-view data, yet in many practical scenarios, data is represented through multiple views. Although the ability of graph convolutional network is undeniable, the quality of graph directly affects its performance. Moreover, the process of graph generation with traditional nearest neighbor in traditional multi-view learning actually amplifies the influence of different information on performance across these views. To tackle the aforementioned challenges, this paper proposes a multi-scale graph generation deep learning framework, called multi-scale semi-supervised graph generation based multi-view classification, consisting of two modules: edge sampling and path sampling. The former aims to generate an adjacency graph by selecting edges based on the maximum likelihood among graphs from different views. Meanwhile, the latter seeks to construct adjacency graphs according to the characteristics of paths within the graphs. Extensive experimental results robustly demonstrate the superior performance of our proposed framework, compared to other state-of-the-art multi-view semi-supervised approaches. © 2024, The Authors.
