The semantic segmentation of high-resolution remote sensing images is of paramount importance for applications such as land use, land cover, and cartography, and it holds great potential for widespread use. The characteristics of high-resolution remote sensing images are addressed in this study, and an end-to-end semantic segmentation network model is devised. An improved Resnet was employed to extract image features, and an efficient channel attention module was introduced to enhance the weights of important channels, with only a marginal increase in parameters. Due to significant scale variations among objects in high-resolution remote sensing images, a multi-scale algorithm was utilized to extract more comprehensive information. An object-enhancement algorithm was introduced, which, by incorporating object features, enhanced the contextual information of pixels in the high-level feature space. Through an analysis of the ultimate predictive performance, the model proposed in this paper demonstrated a certain advantage over popular semantic segmentation models such as Unet, DAnet, DeeplabV3, in predicting high-resolution remote sensing images. © 2023 IEEE.

Combined effects of massive reclamation and dredging on the variations in hydrodynamic and sediment transport in Lingdingyang Estuary,China

Anthropogenic disturbances associated with the rapid development of coastal cities have drastically influenced the hydrodynamics and sediment transport processes in many large estuaries *** Estuary(LE),located in the central and southern part of the Pearl River Delta,southern China with a long history of high-intensity anthropogenic disturbances,was studied to explore the contribution rate and mechanism underlying the alteration in hydrodynamics and sediment transport under each phase of human activity.A state-of-the-art modeling tool(TELEMAC-2D),was used to study the variations in the hydrodynamics and sediment transport,accounting for reclamation-induced shoreline and dredging-induced topography *** results indicated that:i)under the influence of successive land reclamation,the general distribution of the Confluence Hydrodynamic Zone(CHZ)in LE varied from scattered to concentrated,and these zones moved 3–5 km ***)Large-scale channel dredging weakened the residual flow in LE,decreasing the residual flow in the Inner-Lingding Estuary(ILE)by 62.45%.This was initiated by the enhancement of tidal dynamics through changes in the bottom friction caused by dredging in the *** contrast,massive reclamation decreased the residual flow in the ILE by 17.55%and increased that in the Outer-Lingding Estuary(OLE).iii)Despite disturbances related to land reclamation and dredging,the estuarine jet flow in LE remained a turbulent jet system,and the estuarine jet flow became more *** addition,the position of the estuarine jet source moved 6–13 km ***)Both reclamation and dredging decreased the SSC in the ILE and increased the SSC in the *** weakened the SSC in the ILE by 62.19%,whereas dredging enhanced the SSC in the OLE by 49%.Spatially,reclamation resulted in an increase in the SSC near the outlets and a decrease in the SSC in the northern portion of the Western *** mainly increased the SSC in the north

Adsorption and desorption behavior under coal–water–gas coupling conditions of high- and low-rank coal samples

High-and low-rank coalbed methane(CBM)are both important fields of CBM development in China,but their formation and production mechanisms differ *** adsorption/desorption behavior of high-and low-rank coals under the coupling of coal–water–gas was investigated using two series of *** samples from Zhangjiamao(ZJM)coal mine,Ordos basin,and Sihe(SH)coal mine,Qinshui basin,were tested by isothermal adsorption–desorption experiment,natural imbibition experiment,nuclear magnetic resonance,mercury injection porosimetry,contact angle test,and permeability *** adsorption and desorption experiments under dry,equilibrium water,and saturated water,were performed to explore the differences between the adsorption and desorption *** results show that the wettability and permeability of the ZJM low-rank coal sample was considerably higher than that of the SH high-rank coal *** imbibition process of the ZJM sample exhibited a high imbibition rate and high total-imbibition volume,whereas the SH sample exhibited a slow imbibition rate and low total-imbibition *** ZJM sample had a complex pore structure and diverse pore-size distribution with a lower mercury withdrawal efficiency at 59.60%,whereas the SH sample had a relatively uniform pore-size distribution with a higher mercury withdrawal efficiency at 97.62%.The response of adsorption and desorption of the ZJM sample to water was more significant than that of the SH *** desorption hysteresis of the ZJM sample was stronger than that of the SH sample and was more prominently affected by water,which was consistent with its strong wettability and complex pore-throat configuration.A comprehensive adsorption and desorption mode was constructed for high-and low-rank coal samples under coal–water–gas coupling *** research results are important to enrich the geological theory of high-and low-rank CBM and to guide efficient CBM recovery.

A set of feature combinations with high recognition rate is proposed for the identification of vehicle targets and corner reflectors in this article. In the process of target recognition based on high-resolution range profiles (HRRP) from radar;extracting target features and selecting the appropriate features are crucial. The stability and effectiveness of the selected features directly impact the quality of recognition. This paper proposes 15 identification features and determines the optimal feature combination for specific problems. These feature combinations are validated using a neural network classifier, resulting in a satisfactory verification outcome. © 2023 IEEE.

Linking basin-scale hydrology with climatic parameters in western Himalaya:Application of satellite data,temperature index modelling and in-situ observations

Due to limited spatial and temporal in-situ runoff data availability,Himalaya-Karakoram(HK)glaciohydrology has a significant knowledge gap between large-scale and small-scale runoff modelling *** study reconstructs longest basin-wide runoff series in Chandra-Bhaga Basin by applying a high-resolution glaciohydrological model SPHY(Spatial Processes in Hydrology)over 1950–***-tier model calibration is done using in-situ basin-wide runoff(1973–2006)and MODIS snow cover(2003–2018).Model validation is done against in-situ Chhota Shigri Glacier catchment-wide runoff(2010–2015).The modelled mean annual basin-wide runoff is 60.21±6.17 m^(3)/s over 1950–2022,with maximum runoff in summer-monsoon months,peaking in July(182.69 m^(3)/s).Glacier runoff(ice melt+snowmelt over glacier)contributes maximum(39%)followed by equal contributions from snowmelt runoff from non-glacierized basin area and baseflow(25%),while rainfall-runoff contributes minimum(11%)to total *** is a significant volumetric increase by∼7%from pre-(59.17 m^(3)/s)to post-2000(63.47 m^(3)/s)mainly because of early onset of snowmelt post-2000 that resulted in a hydrograph shift by∼25 days earlier in *** glacier runoff is overestimated by 3%from RGI 7.0 inventory compared to different manually delineated inventories over 1950–2022,because of higher glacierized area from RGI *** precipitation shows a negative trend,but total runoff shows a positive trend due to positive trend of temperature that resulted in more glacier runoff and rainfall-runoff for basin over last 72 ***-wide runoff is mainly governed by summer temperature which directly controls the amount of glacier and snowmelt runoffs and is supported by summer *** study highlights importance of basin-scale model calibration with in-situ data in large scale studies and stresses the need for in-situ observations in high-altitude Himalayan ***-scale calibrated model parameters are transferable to glacie

Based on the analysis of existing assembly simulation positioning error evaluation methods, a visualization evaluation system of surface matching error was developed in this paper. The software can read the point cloud data measured by the CMM. And then, the software can fit the data to the surface and then visualize the surface. Nowadays,with the rapid development of quantitative remote sensing represented by high-resolution UAV hyperspectral remote sensing observation technology,people have put forward higher requirements for the rapid preprocessing and geometric correction accuracy of hyperspectral *** optimal geometric correction model and parameter combination of UAV hyperspectral images need to be determined to reduce unnecessary waste of time in the preprocessing and provide high-precision data support for the application of UAV hyperspectral *** this study,the geometric correction accuracy under various geometric correction models(including affine transformation model,local triangulation model,polynomial model,direct linear transformation model,and rational function model)and resampling methods(including nearest neighbor resampling method,bilinear interpolation resampling method,and cubic convolution resampling method)were ***,the distribution,number,and accuracy of control points were analyzed based on the control variable method,and precise ground control points(GCPs)were *** results showed that the average geometric positioning error of UAV hyperspectral images(at 80 m altitude AGL)without geometric correction was as high as 3.4041 m(about 65 pixels).The optimal geometric correction model and parameter combination of the UAV hyperspectral image(at 80 m altitude AGL)used a local triangulation model,adopted a bilinear interpolation resampling method,and selected 12 edgemiddle distributed *** correction accuracy could reach 0.0493 m(less than one pixel).This study provides a reference for the geometric correction of UAV hyperspectral images.

Urban pluvial flooding causes threats to human lives, economy, infrastructure, and ecosystems around the world, particularly in developing countries. Pakistan is among those developing countries that have become vulnerable to urban flooding due to global warming, climate change risks, rapid urbanization, and the occurrence of extreme and unusual rainfall events in the monsoon season. To effectively mitigate the adverse effects of pluvial flooding, there is a pressing need for an advanced and accurate predictive model that is capable of predicting urban pluvial flooding. The aim of this research is to utilize the potential of machine learning (ML) techniques and algorithms to accurately predict the occurrence of urban pluvial flooding, for this study we have worked on the monsoon rainfall data of multiple cities of Sindh province in Pakistan. We made an attempt to use multiple ML models especially logistic regression (LR), random forest (RF), k nearest neighbor (KNN), and support vector machine (SVM) to propose the best and accurate predictive model. The developed models were evaluated and assessed using various performance evaluation metrics which includes accuracy, recall, precision and F1 score. The best among proposed models was created using LR which achieved an accuracy of 97%, while the accuracy of other models which were created using SVM, KNN and RF were 96%, 93%, and 92% respectively. © 2024 IEEE.

Assembly simulation technology occupies an important position in today's manufacturing industry, and its core is surface matching. In this paper, based on the traditional iterative nearest point algorithm, the algorithm was improved and optimized by combining the normal distribution transformation algorithm and adding constraints. And the algorithm can be divided into two steps: coarse alignment and static alignment. Finally, the algorithm was verified by experiments. It was shown that the algorithm was accurate and effective, while it had good computational accuracy. And an idea for the application of surface matching to practical engineering can be provided. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Surface fitting techniques are becoming more and more widely used in today's industry. To make up for the lack of accurate representation of circular holes in circular surfaces in current surface fitting algorithms, this paper improved the original algorithm based on the nonuniform rational B-sample surface fitting by referring to the form of polar coordinates in the step of parameter direction determination to make it more accurate in fitting circular surfaces. Finally, by comparing the traditional method with the improved algorithm in this paper through experimental fitting, the accuracy and practicality of the algorithm can be shown from the results. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
