The particular solutions(PS) and fundamental solutions(FS) in polar coordinates can be found in many textbooks, but with much less coverage in elliptic coordinates [1]. Since the elliptic domains with elliptic holes may be found in some engineering problems, the PS and the FS expansions in elliptic coordinates are essential for numerical computations. For Dirichlet problems of Laplace's equation in elliptic domains, the null field method(NFM), the interior field method(IFM) and the collocation Trefftz method(CTM) are reported in [2]. There seems to exist very few reports for mixed problems, where the Dirichlet and Neumann conditions are assigned on the exterior and the interior boundaries, simultaneously. This paper is devoted to such mixed problems by the NFM and the IFM, and the explicit algebraic equations are derived for elliptic domains. Besides, other effective particular solutions(PS) are sought, and the collocation Trefftz method(CTM) [3] is employed. The CTM may be used for Robin problems in elliptic domains. The effective algorithms for the mixed problems of Laplace's equation on elliptic domains are the main goal of this paper.

The synthesis reaction used in esterification needs high energy consumption and a precise processing time to get the best yield of target. In this study, a model was formulated to optimize glycerol esterification process by minimizing the time needed for the process and maximizing the yield of Mono-glycerides. This optimization has gained importance for boosting the esterification industry and improving the production efficiency. Optimization through adaptive monitoring and control has provided significant advances in the process efficiency, a lower energy consumption and a better product quality. This paper presents the optimization with a computational algorithm in real time and adaptive control (RTAC), as compared to the conventional (traditional) methods to monitor and control of glycerol esterification processes. The identification of esterification status based on temperature and time are evaluated to strengthen the optimization. An adaptive method as feature selection to select wavelength IR sensors at specified intervals was carried out with Relief algorithm and Adaptive Pillar K-means clustering method to set the parameter control was proposed in this paper. Many combinations were evaluated from real time condition process, to achieve the best optimization results. The experimental results demonstrate that real time adaptive control can be achieved by using three clusters, which are heating up, stabilizing and finishing. In RTAC, each cluster has its own parameter to set the control point by the servo motor that was attached to magnetic stirrer-heater. By using optimization parameter for each cluster, esterification process time can be shortened by 15-20 minutes with a higher yield (7% or more), lower range stirrer rotation (300rpm-450 rpm) and a lower final temperature of 200℃ - 210℃.

Quick Response (QR) codes, used in marketing, warehouse management, product tracking, and other applications, are usually only comprised of visible black and white modules. The goal of this research is the creation of covert, color QR codes for increased data capacity, and security. This goal was met by layering QR codes, each of a unique color, printing the covert versions of the color QR codes, upconverting the covert codes into visible codes and unlayering them to take advantage of the various color channels present. It was shown that color layering of the QR codes effectively increased the data capacity by three times that of a traditional QR code, while the covert nature of the code provides added security. Finally, it was also demonstrated that a layered QR code with six base colors (using color intensity variations) could further increase QR code data capacity. © 2015 Taylor and Francis.

In this research, we investigated the growth mechanism of cobalt-doped titanium dioxide (Co:TiO2) films. Thi Co:TiO2 thin films were grown on the n-type silicon substrate. The films were grown by metal organic chemical vapor deposition method. The growth temperature was varied of 325°C – 450°C. The films were characterized by SEM. Using Arheniu's equation, it is known that the activation energy value of film growth is positive in the range of temperature of 325°C – 400°C and negative in the range of temperature of 400°C – 450°C. These results show that the decomposition rate in the range of temperature of 325°C – 400°C is due to diffusion phase of precursor gas. On the other hand, the decomposition rate decreased in the range of temperature of 400°C – 450°C because the precursor gas decreased, and the surface chemical reaction was high.

COnstraint-Based Reconstruction and Analysis (COBRA) provides a molecular mechanistic framework for integrative analysis of experimental data and quantitative prediction of physicochemically and biochemically feasible phenotypic states. The COBRA Toolbox is a comprehensive software suite of interoperable COBRA methods. It has found widespread applications in biology, biomedicine, and biotechnology because its functions can be flexibly combined to implement tailored COBRA protocols for any biochemical network. Version 3.0 includes new methods for quality controlled reconstruction, modelling, topological analysis, strain and experimental design, network visualisation as well as network integration of chemoinformatic, metabolomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and thermochemical data. New multi-lingual code integration also enables an expansion in COBRA application scope via high-precision, high-performance, and nonlinear numerical optimisation solvers for multi-scale, multi-cellular and reaction kinetic modelling, respectively. This protocol can be adapted for the generation and analysis of a constraint-based model in a wide variety of molecular systems biology scenarios. This protocol is an update to the COBRA Toolbox 1.0 and 2.0. The COBRA Toolbox 3.0 provides an unparalleled depth of constraint-based reconstruction and analysis methods. Extended target tracking arises in situations where the resolution of the sensor is high enough to allow multiple returns from the target of interest corresponding to its different parts. Various formulations and solutions may be found in the literature. We concentrate on the data association aspect involved in the tracking problem and propose utilization of a general framework that allows reformulation of many seemingly unrelated problems in a similar way. Consequently, the extended object tracking problem is stated as a single generalized dynamical system with random coefficients and solved using a standard IMM algorithm.

The improvement on the development of porous ceramic materials has leaded to new technologies in thermal insulation, for example, composite materials for better performance of pressure vessels in rocket engines. Within this context, the present work aims to evaluate the ability of a refractory ceramic base alumina/zirconia through the processes of co-precipitation and replica method in an organic fiber template. The green body was burnt-out and sintered at 1200-1600°C to obtain the continuous porous ceramic fibers. In the FEG-SEM analysis, an interconnected porous structure with small grains was observed. The crystalline phases were determined by X-ray diffraction and compared to micro-Raman results regarding the crystalline structure confirms that there present in the material zirconia is composed of more than one phase. Porosity was calculated through a mercury porosimeter as 77.9%, and the Laser Flash method gave a thermal conductivity value of 1.61 K W.m−1 .K−1 for the Al2 O3-ZrO2 fibers. © 2015 Trans Tech Publications Ltd, Switzerland.

This paper obtains soliton solutions in optical metamaterials. There are a couple of integration techniques that are applied to the nonlinear Schrödinger's equation, with full nonlinearity, that serves as the governing model. These are trial solution approach and application of Bäcklund transform to Riccati equation. There are four types of nonlinear media that are studied in this paper. They are Kerr law that is also referred to as cubic law, power law, parabolic law occasionally referred to as cubic-quintic law and finally dual-power law nonlinearity. Bright, dark and singular soliton solutions are obtained in optical metamaterials with the aid of the two algorithms. As a byproduct of these two approaches, singular periodic solutions and plane wave solutions are also listed although these are not utilized in optical metamaterials. There are several constraint conditions that naturally fall out from the solution structure. These conditions guarantee the existence of these variety of solutions. This paper obtains soliton solutions to nonlinear Schrödinger's equation with quadratic nonlinearity. There are five integration schemes that are applied to retrieve these soliton solutions. These are Q-function method, G' /G-expansion scheme, Riccati equation approach and finally the mapping method along with the modified mapping method. The constraint conditions, that naturally fall out of the solution structure, guarantee the existence of these solitons. As a byproduct, snoidal waves, cnoidal waves as well as singular periodic solutions emerge, which are however not important in the field of nonlinear optics. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.

This paper obtains optical soliton solution in dual-core fibers with log law nonlinearity. The Gaussian ansatz approach is employed to integrate the governing model. The Gaussons come with constraint relation that fall out from the solution structure. Finally, a couple of conserved quantities are computed. © 2015 American Scientific Publishers.
