In this paper we consider the filtering of partially observed multi-dimensional diffusion processes that are observed regularly at discrete times. This is a challenging problem which requires the use of advanced numerical schemes based upon time-discretization of the diffusion process and then the application of particle filters. Perhaps the state-of-the-art method for moderate dimensional problems is the multilevel particle filter of [12]. This is a method that combines multilevel Monte Carlo and particle filters. The approach in that article is based intrinsically upon an Euler discretization method. We develop a new particle filter based upon the antithetic truncated Milstein scheme of [10]. We show that for a class of diffusion problems, for ϵ > 0 given, that the cost to produce a mean square error (MSE) in estimation of the filter, of O(ϵ2) is O(ϵ−2 log(ϵ)2). In the case of multidimensional diffusions with non-constant diffusion coefficient, the method of [12] has a cost of O(ϵ−2.5) to achieve the same MSE. The article introduces a two-dimensional polynomial regression model for the predictive analysis of glucose concentration in a fractal microwave sensor NP model, utilizing frequency and transmission coefficient differences to examine their correlation with glucose concentration levels. The sensor employed in this investigation is fabricated on an economical FR-4 substrate to minimize costs. The sensor structure is developed with the fractal structure reduction method established by the NP model to operate at a frequency of roughly 2.97 GHz. The CST Studio software is utilized to analyze the findings from the simulation of the suggested sensor structure. Furthermore, the proposed sensor is integrated into a test apparatus comprising a sensor platform and a liquid tube constructed from PPA material. The liquid under examination is a glucose and water mixture at varying concentrations. It was analyzed using a VNA instrument to evaluate its frequency response and the magnitude of the alteration in the transmission coefficient. The values are utilized to create a two-dimensional polynomial regression model. The experiments demonstrated that the proposed sensor model possesses an Adjusted R² value of 0.99499 and an average error of approximately 3.57% for glucose concentration analysis throughout the range of 5% to 30%, with sensitivities of 0.00879 dB/% for insertion loss and 0.092 MHz/% for frequency variation, facilitating accurate glucose concentration prediction analysis.

This research demonstrates the improvement in antenna gain by utilizing an EBG reflector. The EBG reflector includes a unit cell with grooves shaped like the letters M and W to mitigate surface waves at a frequency of 2.45 GHz. The suggested EBG reflector is constructed on an FR-4 substrate exhibiting a uniform dielectric constant of 4.3, a loss tangent of 0.025, and a thickness of 1.6 mm. Furthermore, the impact of boosting the antenna gain can be analyzed by the reflection phase diagram, which exhibits values ranging from +90° to -90° at the resonant frequency of the reflector. The proposed EBG reflector comprises 5x5 unit cells. The testing results of the reflector's performance, when integrated with a general dipole antenna, indicate that it can effectively respond to the resonant frequency of 2.45 GHz, with a |S 11 | level below -10 dB within the frequency range of 2.2 GHz to 2.6 GHz, thereby adequately covering the IEEE 802.11 b/g/n band. The suggested EBG reflector exhibits a gain of around 6.5 dBi at 2.45 GHz, indicating its efficacy in enhancing gain relative to the standard PEC reflector. Moreover, the radiation pattern is also directional.

In this article we consider the estimation of static parameters for partially observed diffusion process with discrete-time observations over a fixed time interval. In particular, we assume that one must time-discretize the partially observed diffusion process and work with the model with bias and consider maximizing the resulting log-likelihood. Using a novel double randomization scheme, based upon Markovian stochastic approximation we develop a new method to unbiasedly estimate the static parameters, that is, to obtain the maximum likelihood estimator with no time discretization bias. The characteristic mode analysis (CMA) is formulated and implemented for the hydrodynamic volume integral equation (HDVIE) that is used to mathematically model electromagnetic field interactions and conduction current dynamics on nanoantennas and nanoscatterers. The proposed method produces excitation-independent characteristic hydrodynamic currents and the corresponding modal significance curves, providing useful information that can be used to optimize the performance of a nanoantenna. Numerical results demonstrate the reliability and the applicability of the proposed approach.

This research proposes a methodology for identifying the optimal feature combination using Support Vector Machine (SVM) based on edge and texture features. Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt for edge detection and GLCM, Gabor, and LBP for texture analysis are popular feature extraction techniques widely employed in various cases. The approach combines edge and texture features with SVM to classify rice types into five categories: Ipsala, Jasmine, Karacadag, Arborio, and Basmati. Experimental results demonstrate that SVM using Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt combined Gabor texture features outperforms the comparative methods. A comparative analysis based on accuracy scores using confusion matrices is conducted. Combining all feature edge methods, Canny, Sobel, and Prewitt with Gabor on SVM classification is the best model for rice object classification, achieving an accuracy of 96%. © 2023 IEEE.

In the intricate domain of software systems verification, dynamically model checking multifaceted system characteristics remains paramount, yet challenging. This research proposes the advanced observe-based statistical model-checking (OSM) framework, devised to craft executable formal models directly from foundational system code. Leveraging model checking predicates, the framework melds seamlessly with aspect-oriented programming paradigms, yielding a potent method for the analytical verification of varied behavioral attributes. Exploiting the transformative capacity of OSM framework, primary system code undergoes a systematic metamorphosis into multifaceted analysis constructs. This not only simplifies the model verification process but also orchestrates feature interactions using an innovative observing join point abstraction mechanism. Within this framework, components encompassing parsing, formal verification, computational analytics, and rigorous validation are intrinsically interwoven. Marrying the principles of model checking with aspect-oriented (AO) modularization, OSM framework stands as a paragon, proficiently scrutinizing and affirming system specifications. This ensures the unyielding performance of electronic health record systems amidst shifting preconditions. OSM framework offers runtime verification of both object-oriented and AO deployments, positioning itself as an indispensable open-source resource, poised to automate the enhancement of system performance and scalability. Addressing the statistical challenge of computing the multivariate normal (MVN) probability in high dimensions holds significant potential for enhancing various applications. For example, the critical task of detecting confidence regions where a process probability surpasses a specific threshold is essential in diverse applications, such as pinpointing tumor locations in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan images, determining hydraulic parameters in groundwater flow issues, and forecasting regional wind power to optimize wind turbine placement, among numerous others. One common way to compute high-dimensional MVN probabilities is the Separation-of-Variables (SOV) algorithm. This algorithm is known for its high computational complexity of O(n 3 ) and space complexity of O(n 2 ), mainly due to a Cholesky factorization operation for an n×n covariance matrix, where n represents the dimensionality of the MVN problem. This work proposes a high-performance computing framework that allows scaling the SOV algorithm and, subsequently, the confidence region detection algorithm. The framework leverages parallel linear algebra algorithms with a task-based programming model to achieve performance scalability in computing process probabilities, especially on large-scale systems. In addition, we enhance our implementation by incorporating Tile Low-Rank (TLR) approximation techniques to reduce algorithmic complexity without compromising the necessary accuracy. To evaluate the performance and accuracy of our framework, we conduct assessments using simulated data and a wind speed dataset. Our proposed implementation effectively handles high-dimensional multivariate normal (MVN) probability computations on shared and distributed-memory systems using finite precision arithmetics and TLR approximation computation.
