In crowdsourcing systems, where substantial amounts of data from various contributors are aggregated to discern reliable information, privacy concerns are often managed through differential privacy techniques. However, these systems are vulnerable to Sybil attacks, where attackers create multiple fake contributors to gain undeserved rewards. The presence of differential privacy noise complicates the detection of these fraudulent contributors, thereby reducing the accuracy of truth discovery. To address this challenge, we introduce an enhanced data mining algorithm, Truth Discovery against Sybil Attacks (TDSA). This algorithm is specifically designed to improve truth discovery by effectively mitigating Sybil attacks and reducing transmission errors in data mining contexts, utilizing machine learning clustering algorithms and lattice-based linear coding techniques. TDSA optimizes the mining process to better handle malicious data contributions and reduces errors associated with data aggregation. Experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that TDSA improves accuracy by approximately 20% compared to conventional methods lacking Sybil attack defenses, highlighting its efficacy in advanced data mining applications. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Versatile Tasks on Integrated Aerial Platforms Using Only Onboard Sensors: Control, Estimation, and Validation

Connecting multiple aerial vehicles to a rigid central platform through passive spherical joints holds the potential to construct a fully-actuated aerial platform. The integration of multiple vehicles enhances efficiency in tasks like mapping and object reconnaissance. This paper proposes a control and state estimation framework for the Integrated Aerial Platform (IAP), enabling it to perform versatile tasks like object reconnaissance and physical interactive tasks with only onboard sensors. In the framework, the 6D motion control serves as the low-level controller, while the high-level controller comprises a 6D admittance filter and a perception-aware attitude correction module. The 6D admittance filter, serving as the interaction controller, is adaptable for aerial interaction tasks. The perception-aware attitude correction algorithm is carefully designed by adopting a geometric Model Predictive Controller (MPC). This algorithm, incorporating both offline and online calculations, proves to be well-suited for the intricate dynamics of an IAP. A 6D direct wrench controller is also developed for the IAP. Notably, both the interaction controller and the direct wrench controller operate without reliance on force/torque sensors. Instead, a wrench observer algorithm is devised, considering external disturbances. Additionally, based on the kinematics constraints of the multiple aerials in the platform, a fusion algorithm for multiple Visual-Inertial Odometry (VIO) and kinematics constraints is developed, providing more accurate localization. A prototype of the IAP is constructed, and its capabilities are demonstrated through experiments including perception-aware object reconnaissance, aerial mapping, aerial peg-in-hole task, and 6D contact wrench generation. All experiments are conducted exclusively with onboard sensors. These tasks exemplify the merits of the proposed IAP and validate the effectiveness of the proposed control framework and fusion algorithm. © 2004-2012

This paper is going to investigate a time-delay Belousov-Zhabotinsky model with reaction terms, the purpose of which is used to describe the generation process of bromic acid. In light of the nonlinear functional analysis method, we obtain that there exists an entire solutions whose behaviour conducts as two wave fronts being from positive semi-axis and negative semi-axis of the x-axis, where a canonical solution, expression for all space variable x and time variable t, is called an entire solution. © 2023 IEEE.

An emergency rescue team assignment model is proposed to solve the problem of earthquake disaster emergency rescue team assignment. This paper presents a hybrid rectifier mode control for broad-range output power regulation in wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. The proposed control method employs a secondary-side active rectifier for output tuning, thereby eliminating the necessity for communication links. Furthermore, leveraging the pulse-skipping technique, two hybrid modes are introduced in the proposed approach. These hybrid modes reduce circulating reactive power within the resonant circuits, thereby optimizing the transmission efficiency of the WPT systems. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, experiments were conducted using a WPT prototype. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves higher efficiency than the conventional phase-shift control strategy, with a maximum efficiency improvement of up to 3.7%. © 2024 IEEE.

In an indoor fire, the robot inspection process is impossible. The development of the robot and the Internet of Things (IoT) technology provides a new solution for indoor fire identification by a robot. Using IoT technology and inspection robots, we designed a point identification system for an indoor fire to improve the safety and application of the robot inspection. In the system, temperature, smoke, and other sensors were used to detect the temperature, smoke, and other indoor. A microcontroller (MCU) and other components were used for the processing and analysis of data, the control of application programs, and the real-time warning. Through testing and verification, the indoor fire point identification system improved the identification and fire warning in simulated fires. The system ensures personal and property safety by preventing diasters. © 2023 IEEE.

Northern Thailand faces a recurring ecological threat: forest fires. These fires, prevalent during the dry season, spread rapidly and consume vital forest fuels. Human activities exacerbate the problem, with agricultural burning of forests, grasses, and crop residues contributing to the fire regime. These fires not only alter forest structure, but also produce harmful PM10 and PM2.5 particles that threaten public health. The purpose of this work is to perform a comparative analysis of two deep learning approaches, including single and hybrid, for fire hotspots prediction. The dataset was acquired from NASA's MODIS and VIIRS S-NPP satellite, covering the period from January 2012 to February 2024. The dataset values were pre-processed by coding and normalization. The pairwise correlation coefficient between each feature and the number of hotspots was calculated and then sorted in descending order. Based on these correlation values, a dimensionality reduction step was performed to reduce the number of features from 4 to 2 for each experiment. The prepared dataset was then divided into 80% and 20%. Four deep learning models were trained and three error metrics were used to objectively evaluate the model performance. The investigation showed that the single approach using LSTM algorithm had promising results in identifying fire hotspots in Thailand, especially when using data from the VIIRS S-NPP dataset with two or three attributes: confidence, bright-ti5, and frp or confident and bright-ti5. © 2024 IEEE.

Accurate forecasting of wind speed is crucial for optimal extraction of energy, enabling integration of power grid, planning and management of renewable energy resources. To overcome the unpredictability of long-term trends and seasonal variation of wind, this study proposes a deterministic framework utilizing a hybrid model based on empirical wavelet transform (EWT), bidirectional gated recurrent neural network (BiGRU), and Bayesian optimization algorithm (BOA) for an hour-ahead wind speed prediction. Firstly, the EWT is used for preprocessing the wind speed data with enabling wavelet charaterticstics. Then, the BiGRU model is employed for regression using optimal values determined by the BOA method. The robustness of the proposed integrative framework is regressively evaluated over seven years (2015-2021) of hourly wind speed data across four locations in India. The evidence of numerical results of the proposed model demonstrates its effectiveness with a maximum improvement of 70% - 80% in terms of RMSE values across all the studied regions. Furthermore, the model evaluation and pictorial results indicate that the proposed model is a potent tool for generating wind energy and its integration into the smart grid. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a variable-capacitance-based control strategy to improve efficiency for asymmetric LCC-LCC compensated wireless power transfer (WPT) systems. While the existing triple-phase-shift (TPS) method can achieve power regulation and wide-range zero-voltage-switching (ZVS), it results in significantly increased reactive power under asymmetric LCC-LCC compensation topology. To this end, this paper incorporates a switch-controlled-capacitor (SCC) on the primary side. The impact of variable capacitance on the system characteristics is first investigated. Furthermore, the optimal capacitor tuning factor is derived to achieve the inverter ZVS with minimal reactive power. Through the implementation of variable capacitance, the primary inductor current is notably reduced within a wide range of power. Moreover, the turn-off currents of power switches are minimized. These factors contribute to a reduction in inductor and inverter losses, thus improving the overall efficiency. Experimental results confirm that the proposed method improves the efficiency of an asymmetric LCC-LCC compensated WPT prototype, with a maximum efficiency improvement of up to 1.8%. © 2024 IEEE.

Programming is one of the most popular and demanding courses in universities around the world for students to build a strong foundation for their future in the field of computer science. Unlike other subjects, computer science is more of a practical field than a theoretical one, which requires practical experience to learn rather than theoretical knowledge, which can be forgotten if the teachings are not put into practice by students. When new students enroll in a programming course for the first time, about half of the students pass the course on the first try, while most of the students that pass obtain the minimum grade for passing the course. This is because students find it hard to cope with programming with limited guidance in a short period of time, whereas not all students can get lecturers to help when they get stuck on an error while learning to code. The purpose of this study is to see if there is a need for a strategy to help students new to programming learn about and identify common errors in C-sharp programming and improve their coding abilities using a game-based learning application. The study will also discuss which type of game application will be the most effective in gaining the interest of students, allowing them to actively use the application to improve their experience in coding while outlining a rough idea of what a game-based learning application should contain for others to use as a guide to help in their research. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
