Electrocatalysts with optimal efficiency and durability for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)are becoming increasingly important as the demand for alkaline water/seawater electrolysis technology ***,a novel rose-shaped NiFe-layered double hydroxide(LDH)/NiCo_(2)O_(4)composed of amorphous wrinkled NiFe-LDH and highly crystalline NiCo_(2)O_(4)was synthesized with rich *** unsaturated metal sites are generated due to significant charge reconstruction at the heterointerface between the crystalline and amorphous *** metal sites could trigger and provide more active *** density functional theory(DFT)reveals that a new charge transfer channel(Co-Fe)was formed at the heterointerface between NiFe-LDH as electron acceptor and NiCo_(2)O_(4)as electron *** new charge transfer channel boosts interfacial charge transfer and enhances catalytic *** NiFe-LDH/NiCo_(2)O_(4)/nickel foam(NF)drives current densities of 10 and 100 mA·cm−2 with overpotentials of 193 and 236 mV,*** composite electrode demonstrates a fast turnover frequency(0.0143 s−1)at 1.45 V ***(RHE=reversible hydrogen electrode),which is 5.5 times greater than pure NiCo_(2)O_(4),suggesting its superior intrinsic ***,NiFe-LDH/NiCo_(2)O_(4)/NF electrode exhibited negligible degradation after 150 h of uninterrupted running in alkaline seawater *** study introduces a method for preparing high-efficiency electrocatalysts utilized in alkaline water/seawater electrolysis.

A key component of financial management portfolio optimization, which gives investors the ability to allocate capital strategically and make well-informed decisions. Traditional portfolio optimization techniques might not adequately reflect the complexities of real-world markets, despite frequently relying on mathematical models and historical data. In this paper, a novel framework for portfolio optimization with an intelligent chatbot is proposed. The research work requests information from the user, including his name, salary, investment amount, and desired investment period. Based on these parameters, it optimizes the portfolio distribution based on the user's risk appetite (low, medium, or high) and calculates the predicted rate of return. The chatbot serves as an interactive interface for investors, gathering information about their investment goals, risk tolerance, and preferences. After the fiber membrane material is determined, the aircraft is more concerned about the flow rate of nitrogen-rich gas under a certain nitrogen-rich gas (NEA) concentration, thereby determining the inerting time of the fuel tank. This paper mainly introduces the separation principle and related parameters of fiber membranes, as well as the types and separation performance of different fiber membranes. The asymmetric polyimide membrane, which is more commonly used in airborne nitrogen inerting, is used to verify the effects of different temperatures, pressures, and altitudes on the separation efficiency of the fiber membranes through experiments. The results of the research can provide a basis for the design of subsequent high-efficiency hollow fiber membranes. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Movie trailers are a crucial marketing tool for the film industry and are often used to generate audience interest and anticipation. Automatic genre classification of movie trailers can assist filmmakers in targeting their intended audience and help viewers in deciding which films to watch. This research paper aims to investigate the effectiveness of various machine learning algorithms for the classification of movie genres based on audio and visual features extracted from movie trailers. We compare the performance of several classifiers, including Support Vector Machines (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Naive Bayes (NB), and K- Nearest Neighbors (KNN) on a dataset of movie trailers belonging to five different genres—action, comedy, drama, horror, and thriller. We extract both audio and visual features from the trailers, including spectrogram features, pitch, loudness, brightness, contrast, and color histograms. We then use these features to train and evaluate the different classifiers. Moreover, we observed that combining both audio and visual features improves the overall accuracy of genre classification. Our study contributes to the field of movie genre classification by providing a comparative analysis of different machine learning algorithms for the classification of movie trailers based on both audio and visual features. The findings of this research can be applied in various domains, such as movie recommendation systems, marketing strategies, and content analysis. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper proposes a control method of Active Mass Damper (AMD) for Building Mass Damper (BMD). The parameters of the soft story of BMD must be higher than the optimal values to prevent excessive displacement of the soft story. The AMD makes the behavior of the non-optimal BMD close to that of the optimal BMD and improves damping performance by the proposed control method, which is based on Model Predictive Control (MPC). Through the results of numerical analysis and shaking table test, it is demonstrated that the proposed method can mitigate the responses of the non-optimal BMD. © 2022 Architectural Institute of Japan. The development of new products and services allows railway transport to constantly increase the fleet of specialised wagons, which, in comparison with the universal rolling stock, have the best technical and economic indicators. A significant part of cars is delivered by railways, and it is economically reasonable to transport them on a specialised rolling stock. In this regard, the development of a methodology for refined theoretical studies of the strength of bodies of a double-deck rolling stock for passenger cars transportation, the choice of appropriate design schemes and parameters of the bodies, the analysis of the frequencies and forms of their natural oscillations, taking into account the finite stiffness of the elements, are urgent research tasks. The research uses the methods of structural mechanics of rod systems, the applied theory of elasticity, and discrete masses. A wide range of frequencies and forms of the natural free oscillations was obtained using the discrete mass method for a structural scheme with load transfer from the upper to the lower level of the wagon with the help of four racks. The applied methodology of theoretical determination of frequencies and forms of the natural free oscillations of the car transporter wagon by the method of discrete masses is effective. It allows for the estimation of the dynamic characteristics of the wagon. © The Author(s) 2024.

Sleep quality prediction in Internet of Things (IoT) involves leveraging a system of interrelated devices to gather as well as analyse related data. Smart devices like wearable devices or smart mattresses endlessly monitor many parameters such as body movement, heart rate, and environmental situations in bedroom. Real-time recommendations and feedback transported to consumers, allowing them to create informed lifestyle changes for superior sleep hygiene. As IoT ecosystem continues to develop, a combination of various data streams as well as classy analytics holds assurance for further refining sleep quality forecasts and improving overall well-being. The article designs a Bald Eagle Search Algorithm with Hierarchical Deep Learning for Internet of Things Assisted Sleep Quality Recognition (BESHDL-SQP) technique. The purpose of the BESHDL-SQP technique is to recognize and classify the quality of the sleep level in the IoT environment. In the presented BESHDL-SQP technique, the preliminary stage of data pre-processing using min–max normalization involved to normalize the input data. For predicting sleep quality, hierarchical long short-term memory (LSTM) technique exploited. Lastly, BES model utilized for optimal hyperparameter selection of LSTM method which helps in attaining enhanced results. To validate better performance of BESHDL-SQP technique, a huge range of simulation analysis is carried out. This study addresses the requirements for tank inerting and proposes application-oriented architectures for inert gas distribution system. Utilizing AMEsim, a multi-tank simulation model is constructed. The accuracy of the model was validated through experimental data,demonstrating its applicability for engineering calculations. Furthermore,the model was utilized to analyze both series and parallel schemes of the distribution system. Results suggest that the series scheme effectively reduces tank oxygen concentration, enhances system reliability and oxygen concentration uniformity, and achieves higher inert gas utilization rates with simplified pipeline arrangements. Consequently, we recommend adopting the series scheme for inert gas distribution system. These findings provide a basis for designing and optimizing inerting system. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Fine classification of rice paddy using multitemporal compact polarimetric SAR C band data based on machine learning methods

Rice is an important food crop for human *** distinguishing different varieties and sowing methods of rice on a large scale can provide more accurate information for rice growth monitoring,yield estimation,and phenological monitoring,which has significance for the development of modern *** polarimetric(CP)synthetic aperture radar(SAR)provides multichannel information and shows great potential for rice monitoring and ***,the use of machine learning methods to build classification models is a controversial *** this paper,the advantages of CP SAR data,the powerful learning ability of machine learning,and the important factors of the rice growth cycle were taken into account to achieve high-precision and fine classification of rice ***,CP SAR data were simulated by using the seven temporal RADARSAT-2 C-band data ***,20-two CP SAR parameters were extracted from each of the seven temporal CP SAR data *** addition,we fully considered the change degree of CP SAR parameters on a time scale(ΔCP_(DoY)).Six machine learning methods were employed to carry out the fine classification of rice *** results show that the classification methods of machine learning based on multitemporal CP SAR data can obtain better results in the fine classification of rice paddies by considering the parameters ofΔCP_(DoY).The overall accuracy is greater than 95.05%,and the Kappa coefficient is greater than *** them,the random forest(RF)and support vector machine(SVM)achieve the best results,with an overall accuracy reaching 97.32%and 97.37%,respectively,and Kappa coefficient values reaching 0.965 and 0.966,*** the two types of rice paddies,the average accuracy of the transplant hybrid(T-H)rice paddy is greater than 90.64%,and the highest accuracy is 95.95%.The average accuracy of direct-sown japonica(D-J)rice paddy is greater than 92.57%,and the highest accuracy is 96.13%.
