A comprehensive study of affordable “water-in-salt” electrolytes and their properties

The search for alternative electrolytes has been extremely topical in recent years with the “water-in-salt” electrolyte, especially, lithium bis（trifluoromethanesulfonyl） imide（LiTFSI） coming to the fore in the context of highvoltage electrolytes. However, “water-in-LiTFSI” exhibits ultra-high cost and low ionic transport when compared with the aqueous lithium-halide,-nitrate as well as-sulphate salts（quoted as LiX）. This work rediscovered the properties of a “water-in-salt”（LiX electrolytes） made from a variety of concentration from 1 m to saturated conditions. The changes of physical properties e.g., viscosity, pH, conductivity, density, and temperature during mixing were then reported. The electrochemical properties of electrolyte were tested using carbon-based materials（YEC-8A） as a model system（three electrode configuration）, and the finding was then expanded to a coin cell supercapacitor for benchmarking the performance per cost unit. It has been found that the use of highly concentrated LiX electrolytes does not always enhance the potential window. LiBr and LiI shown the redox properties while increasing the concentration can speed up the redox process（voltage remains unchanged）. Using superconcentrated LiCl can slightly expand the potential window; however, corrosion is the main task to be addressed. Besides, voltage expansion of LiNO3is found to be approximately 2.2 V, which is comparable to *** breakdown cost of the electrolyte also shows that LiTFSI exhibits the lowest energy density per cost unit（dollars）, while LiNO3provides the most feasible cost in term of power density. We then marked that the electrolytes such as LiBr and LiI can be used as redox additive electrolytes. This work also shows the fundamental insight into the physical and electrochemical properties of LiX for possible alternative use as a cheap “water-insalt” electrolyte in energy storage apart from LiTFSI.

Goat casein hydrolysates alleviated insomnia in mice via modulating the level of neurotransmitters and the composition of gut microbiota

Attribute reduction through the combined approach of Rough Sets(RS)and algebraic topology is an open research topic with significant potential for *** research works have introduced a strong relationship between RS and topology spaces for the attribute reduction ***,the mentioned recent methods followed a strategy to construct a new measure for attribute ***,the strategy for searching for the reduct is still to select each attribute and gradually add it to the ***,those methods tended to be inefficient for high-dimensional *** overcome these challenges,we use the separability property of Hausdorff topology to quickly identify distinguishable attributes,this approach significantly reduces the time for the attribute filtering stage of the *** addition,we propose the concept of Hausdorff topological homomorphism to construct candidate reducts,this method significantly reduces the number of candidate reducts for the wrapper stage of the *** are the two main stages that have the most effect on reducing computing time for the attribute reduction of the proposed algorithm,which we call the Cluster Filter Wrapper algorithm based on Hausdorff *** validation on the UCI Machine Learning Repository Data shows that the proposed method achieves efficiency in both the execution time and the size of the reduct.

Multimorbidity and mortality among older patients with coronary heart disease in Shenzhen,China

BACKGROUND The current understanding of the magnitude and consequences of multimorbidity in Chinese older adults with coronary heart disease(CHD)is *** aimed to assess the association and population-attributable fractions(PAFs)between multimorbidity and mortality among hospitalized older patients who were diagnosed with CHD in Shenzhen,*** We conducted a retrospective cohort study of older Chinese patients(aged≥65 years)who were diagnosed with *** proportional hazards models were used to estimate the associations between multimorbidity and all-cause and cardiovascular disease(CVD)*** also calculated the *** The study comprised 76,455 older hospitalized patients who were diagnosed with CHD between January 1,2016,and August 31,*** them,70,217(91.9%)had multimorbidity,defined as the presence of at least one of the predefined 14 chronic *** with cancer,hemorrhagic stroke and chronic liver disease had the worst overall death risk,with adjusted HRs(95%CIs)of 4.05(3.77,4.38),2.22(1.94,2.53),and 1.85(1.63,2.11),*** CVD mortality,the highest risk was observed for hemorrhagic stroke,ischemic stroke,and chronic kidney disease;the corresponding adjusted HRs(95%CIs)were 3.24(2.77,3.79),1.91(1.79,2.04),and 1.81(1.64,1.99),***-cause mortality was mostly attributable to cancer,heart failure and ischemic stroke,with PAFs of 11.8,10.2,and 9.1,*** for CVD mortality,the leading PAFs were heart failure,ischemic stroke and diabetes;the corresponding PAFs were 18.0,15.7,and 6.1,*** Multimorbidity was common and had a significant impact on mortality among older patients with CHD in Shenzhen,***,heart failure,ischemic stroke and diabetes are the primary contributors to ***,prioritizing improved treatment and management of these comorbidities is essential for the survival prognosis of CHD patients from a holistic public health perspective.

The application of omics technologies for understanding tropical plants-based bioactive compounds in ruminants:a review

Finding out how diet impacts health and metabolism while concentrating on the functional qualities and bioactive components of food is the crucial scientific objective of nutritional research. The complex relationship between metabolism and nutrition could be investigated with cutting-edge "omics" and bioinformatics techniques. This review paper provides an overview of the use of omics technologies in nutritional research, with a particular emphasis on the new applications of transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genomes in functional and biological activity research on ruminant livestock and products in the tropical regions. A wealth of knowledge has been uncovered regarding the regulation and use of numerous physiological and pathological processes by gene, m RNA, protein, and metabolite expressions under various physiological situations and guidelines. In particular, the components of meat and milk were assessed using omics research utilizing the various methods of transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and genomes. The goal of this review is to use omics technologies—which have been steadily gaining popularity as technological tools—to develop new nutritional, genetic, and leadership strategies to improve animal products and their quality control. We also present an overview of the new applications of omics technologies in cattle production and employ nutriomics and foodomics technologies to investigate the microbes in the rumen ecology. Thus, the application of state-of-the-art omics technology may aid in our understanding of how species and/or breeds adapt, and the sustainability of tropical animal production, in the long run, is becoming increasingly important as a means of mitigating the consequences of climate change.

Using the sustainable strategy of green practices to achieve eco-friendly behaviour

Businesses use green practices to gain a sustainable competitive advantage and foster sustainable economic growth. Green practices play a critical role in establishing a positive brand image and facilitating the development of an environment-friendly society. This study examines the relationships between green practices, green brand image, perceived value, environmental awareness, and eco-friendly behaviour. We took three green scenic spots (the Confucian Temple, the *** and ShangLake Tourist Area, and the Taihu Turtle-Head Peninsula Scenic Area) in Jiangsu Province in China as the study locations. Tourists visiting these locations were the study subjects. This study distributed an online questionnaire using ***. The final valid samples included 603 responses. After analysing the data using SPSS 25 and AMOS 23, the findings indicate the following: 1) green practice has a significant positive influence on green brand image, environmental awareness, and eco-friendly behaviour;2) perceived value and environmental awareness have a significant positive influence on eco-friendly behaviour;3) environmental awareness and green brand image have a significant positive influence on perceived value. During a manufacturing process, hard disk drive (HDD) might be contaminated by some materials such as Quartz and Silica Gel. These contaminations induce a major failure in the HDD. Identifying them is a necessary approach to track back to the sources and prevent this issue to happen again in the future. In this work, we are interested in identifying Quartz and Silica Gel by analyzing their spectra obtained from using an Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (EDX) instrument. A challenge is that these two materials are from the same functional group (Silicon Dioxide) and have quite similar EDX spectra which cause a classifying problem to experts. In this work, we proposed a parallel ensemble learning approach based on EDX spectra to improve the classification between Quartz and Silica Gel. Four ensemble methods were studied and compared: Hard Voting, Soft Voting, Weighted Hard Voting, and Weighted Soft Voting. We applied and chose the base models of the ensemble methods from 12 well-known machine learning (ML) models. Experimental results show that the Soft Voting and Weighted Soft Voting techniques achieved a maximum accuracy of 82.5% and significantly outperformed individual ML models in classifying Quartz and Silica Gel. © 2025 IEEE.

Enhancing Strength-Ductility Synergy of CoCrNi-Based Medium-Entropy Alloy Through Coherent L1_(2)Nanoprecipitates and Grain Boundary Precipitates

The L1_(2)-strengthened Co_(34)Cr_(32)Ni_(27)Al_(4)Ti_(3)medium-entropy alloy(MEA)with precipitations of grain boundaries has been developed through selective laser melting(SLM)followed by cold rolling and annealing,exhibiting excellent strength-ductility *** as-printed alloy exhibits low yield strength(YS)of~384 MPa,ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of~453 MPa,and uniform elongation(UE)of 1.5%due to the existence of the SLM-induced *** cold rolling and annealing,the YS,UTS,and UE are significantly increased to~739 MPa,~1230 MPa,and~47%,*** enhancement primarily originates from the refined grain structure induced by cold rolling and *** presence of coherent sphericalγ'precipitates(L1_(2)phases)and Al/Ti-rich precipitates at the grain boundaries,coupled with increased lattice defects such as dislocations,stacking faults,and ultrafine deformation twins,further contribute to the property’s *** study highlights the potential of SLM in producing high-strength and ductile MEA with coherent L1_(2)nanoprecipitates,which can be further optimized through subsequent rolling and annealing *** findings offer valuable insights for the development of high-performance alloys for future engineering applications.

Data-driven diagnosis of high temperature PEM fuel cells based on the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy: Robustness improvement and evaluation

Utilizing machine learning techniques for data-driven diagnosis of high temperature PEM fuel cells is beneficial and meaningful to the system durability. Nevertheless, ensuring the robustness of diagnosis remains a critical and challenging task in real application. To enhance the robustness of diagnosis and achieve a more thorough evaluation of diagnostic performance, a robust diagnostic procedure based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and a new method for evaluation of the diagnosis robustness was proposed and investigated in this work. To improve the diagnosis robustness: (1) the degradation mechanism of different faults in the high temperature PEM fuel cell was first analyzed via the distribution of relaxation time of EIS to determine the equivalent circuit model (ECM) with better interpretability, simplicity and accuracy;(2) the feature extraction was implemented on the identified parameters of the ECM and extra attention was paid to distinguishing between the long-term normal degradation and other faults;(3) a Siamese Network was adopted to get features with higher robustness in a new embedding. The diagnosis was conducted using 6 classic classification algorithms—support vector machine (SVM), K-nearest neighbor (KNN), logistic regression (LR), decision tree (DT), random forest (RF), and Naive Bayes employing a dataset comprising a total of 1935 collected EIS. To evaluate the robustness of trained models: (1) different levels of errors were added to the features for performance evaluation;(2) a robustness coefficient (Roubust_C) was defined for a quantified and explicit evaluation of the diagnosis robustness. The diagnostic models employing the proposed feature extraction method can not only achieve the higher performance of around 100% but also higher robustness for diagnosis models.
