The existing vascular microrobots are mainly individual robots because of the limitations of size. Aiming at the existing problems of vascular swarm robot, this paper focuses on the aggregation of magnetic particles. Through theoretical analysis, the formula of magnetic interaction force between particles is derived. Then the mechanism is verified and a ribbon-like swarm is generated by the numerical simulation. The simulation results show that the main factors affect the aggregation are the amplitude ratio γ, the frequency f and the constant component B0. γ and f are positively and negatively correlated with the aspect ratio of swarm respectively. The constant component affects the direction of swarm. In conclusion, the magnetic interaction force is the fundamental reason for the aggregation of magnetic particles and the particles can aggregate into swarm in a triangular oscillating field. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

As the eye of aircraft brake system, the wheel speed transducer plays an important role in precise measurement of wheel speed and safe and efficient above-ground operation. However, engineering applications show that it is an assembly unit that is prone to suffer electrical/mechanical damages and provides inaccurate and even wrong signals. These signals may cause even more serious consequences, such as failures in the brake system, and poses grave threats to the safety of passengers and crews. An accurate mathematical model is a prerequisite to detect the faults of wheel speed transducers caused by those damages. In this paper, we establish mathematical models of the variable-reluctance type wheel speed transducer, both healthy ones and faulty ones (the fault of teeth loss and airgap eccentricity). These models are verified by comparing with the results obtained from finite element analysis, and then analysed the effect of these faults on the output signal of the transducer. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

In this paper, a novel trapezoidal Halbach permanent magnet array is introduced to lessen the output torque ripple of a surface-mounted Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). Finite Element Method (FEM), core loss, output torque, and torque ripple are examined. The harmonic components of the trapezoidal Halbach magnet arrays are analyzed by the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Additionally, a traditional trapezoidal Halbach magnet array-based 2D finite element model of the PMSM is also developed. The findings demonstrate the improved trapezoidal Halbach magnet array's capability to reduce the PMSM's torque ripple by lowering the intensity of the third harmonic of the air-gap flux density. In contrast to the PMSM employing traditional trapezoidal Halbach magnet arrays, the PMSM with the introduced trapezoidal Halbach arrays has a lower torque ripple by 11.84 % and a higher torque by 18.03%, while maintaining similar core loss. © 2022 IEEE.

Directed energy weapon (DEW) is the weapon equipment directly attacking targets through high-energy beams, wherein the fiber laser consumes energy and generates a lot of waste heat in the process of generating laser. The heat must be rejected in time, otherwise the efficiency of the fiber laser will be greatly compromised. Therefore, this paper analyzes the thermal characteristics of the fiber laser. A model of the fiber laser is established based on the laser composition principle. Simulations are carried out under different working conditions and show that fiber laser efficiency is mainly related to junction temperature. A thermal management system is designed. The volume, weight and temperature of cold tank are evaluated and provided as references for the thermal management system design of directed energy weapons. © 2022 IET Conference Proceedings. A fault-tolerant control for launch vehicle actuator with actuator faults is proposed assuming the fault has been diagnosed in this paper. Firstly, the model for the launch vehicle with actuator failures is established considering faults. The tracking differentiator is used to process the angle signal of the program for the subsequent controller design. Using the attitude angle and angular velocity information measured by the control components, a basic controller is designed by LQR method to make the launch vehicle stable, thus a reference model with good stability is obtained. Moreover, the adaptive control law is designed in the form of integral by means of model reference adaptive control (MRAC) method to ensure attitude stability in flight. Noise annoyance caused by wind turbines is a critical issue for the societal acceptance of wind energy. Wind turbine noise exposure is typically assessed using conventional time-averaged metrics, however, the literature suggests that these metrics do not fully capture the sound properties responsible for the perceived noise annoyance. Therefore, it is questionable to assess wind turbine noise and its abatement strategies using only such metrics. This paper presents a novel psychoacoustic model for predicting wind turbine noise annoyance that combines perception-based sound quality metrics. To establish the psychoacoustic model, the synthetic sound signals of two different wind turbines equipped with four state-of-the-art noise reduction add-ons (two types of trailing-edge serrations and two types of trailing-edge permeable materials inserts) were studied. Using a parametric wind turbine noise generator, the simulated sound signals were auralized at different observer positions and their noise annoyance was evaluated in two laboratory listening experiments with 16 and 10 subjects, respectively. The psychoacoustic annoyance model proposed here provides a very close agreement with the results of the listening experiment and improved accuracy compared to conventional sound metrics. © ICA *** rights reserved

Aiming at the problem of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) rendezvous path planning in the process of autonomous aerial refueling (AAR), a multi-UAV rendezvous path planning framework is proposed in this paper. First, an integrated guidance vector field (IGVF) is proposed, which can guide the UAV to fly from anywhere to the expected track. Then, a formation controller based on leader-follower structure is designed, under the force of the formation controller, multi-UAV can rendezvous to the expected track in the form of formation. Flux weakening (FW) control is applied to offer the optimal torque/current trajectory once the rotation speed of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) exceeds its rated speed. The voltage feedback method is one of the most commonly used FW control strategy because it is independent of the motor parameters and exhibits strong robustness. It is noted that the voltage feedback method requires sufficient bandwidth to track the target current. However, the increased bandwidth causes enhanced noise. To achieve a balance between bandwidth and noise, a novel FW control strategy combining model-based method and voltage feedback compensation has been proposed in this paper, which can guarantee both dynamic and static performance of the motor operating in FW region with sufficient robustness. Finally, the experimental verification has confirmed the validity of the proposed FW control strategy. © 2024 IEEE.
