In order to deal with the formation control problem for multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), a prescribed performance control (PPC) scheme based on backstepping method is developed. Firstly, the nonlinear mathematical model with bounded external disturbance is established. Meanwhile, the tracking error model of UAV formation is formulated on the basis of graph theory. For the purpose of limiting the tracking error within a small range, a performance function is recommended. Furthermore, considering that the direct processing of the initial system has great difficulties, an error transformation function is adopted. Based on PPC theory, the structure of the control law is deduced by utilizing the backstepping method. In addition, the derivation process of stability analysis is shown in detail. The simulation results show the superiority of trajectory tracking performance, which demonstrates the validity of the designed control scheme. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A simple matrix description method is proposed, which define the formation relationship between the UAV swarm leaders and wingmen, and establishes formation database matrix sets of different formations. On the basis of this formation database, a space formation change method is proposed. It adopts the method of staggering the height layers, even if all the UAVs in the swarm are distributed at different height layers during the formation change, and then the formation change in the horizontal is carried out. There is no risk of collision when the formation is changed, and the precise change of the formation is completed, which improved the safety of the formation change. The collaborative flight of unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarm has always been a hot issue in control science. This paper designs a scalable componentized software architecture for the actual scenario of fixed-wing UAV swarm collaborative flight. Base on the hierarchical structure of the UAV swarm system, we analyze the software requirements of functions and performance, and propose an onboard software architecture, which consist of real-time operating system (RTOS), board support package (BSP) and application layer software. In addition, the flight control and swarm communication of UAV swarms are described in this paper. Finally, the proposed software architecture is verified by field test and data analysis. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper aims to analyze and design a novel variable impedance permanent magnet (PM) machine with separated fault tolerant ring for high reliability applications. The proposed topology automatically changes from low impedance to ultra-high impedance under turn-to-turn short-circuit without complex fault diagnosis and control strategies. First, the topology of the variable impedance PM machine is introduced. Then, the magnetic field distribution of the separate fault tolerant ring under health and fault is analyzed to qualitatively reveal the fault tolerance principle. Finally, a turn-to-turn short-circuit model considering the core saturation effect is developed for investigating the mechanism of fault tolerance performance improvement. It is found that the short-circuit current and torque ripple after the fault of the variable impedance machines are significantly lower than those of the conventional ones. © 2023 IEEE.

The multi-phase redundant permanent magnet machine is essentially a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) with multiple sets of windings arranged on the stator. This configuration facilitates fault-tolerant operation of the PMSM in the event of one or multiple phase windings failing. In response to the practical requirements of electromechanical actuation systems in the aviation industry, this paper proposed a solution for a high-power, high-speed multi-phase redundant permanent magnet machine. The stator and rotor configuration of the multi-phase machine, along with short-circuit current suppression, are analysed, leading to the design of a prototype with specifications of 7.3 kW and 14,000 rpm. The finite element method is employed to simulate the machine's performance under no-load and full-load conditions, as well as its redundancy and thermal characteristics. The simulation results verify the correctness of the design approach well. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

Surface-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric machines play an important role in industrial production. Output torque and efficiency are important indicators of electric machines. The key parameters of electric machines have a great influence on output torque and efficiency. First, this paper gives the conceptual design diagram of the electric machine and derives the governing equations of output torque and efficiency. The electric machine structure parameters are optimized by numerical simulation, and the relationships between the core material, permanent magnet grade and output torque and efficiency are studied. Subsequently, the influence of stator and rotor parameters on output torque and efficiency is researched. The research results show that high-performance cores, high-grade permanent magnets, large tooth width, small slot open width, large magnet thickness and electrical angle, and small magnet reduction can help improve the output torque and efficiency of the motor. © The Institution of Engineering & technology 2024.

To explore the influence of the fusion of different features on recognition,this paper took the electromyography(EMG)signals of rectus femoris under different motions(walk,step,ramp,squat,and sitting)as samples,linear features(time-domain features(variance(VAR)and root mean square(RMS)),frequency-domain features(mean frequency(MF)and mean power frequency(MPF)),and nonlinear features(empirical mode decomposition(EMD))of the samples were *** feature fusion algorithms,the series splicing method and complex vector method,were designed,which were verified by a double hidden layer(BP)error back propagation neural *** show that with the increase of the types and complexity of feature fusions,the recognition rate of the EMG signal to actions is gradually *** the EMG signal is used in the series splicing method,the recognition rate of time-domain+frequency-domain+empirical mode decomposition(TD+FD+EMD)splicing is the highest,and the average recognition rate is 92.32%.And this rate is raised to 96.1%by using the complex vector method,and the variance of the BP system is also reduced.
