Due to its flexible networking capability and strong resilience, the multi-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system can provide robust communication support. However, the selection of relay UAVs by users and the location of UAVs are intricately linked to the performance of the system. Therefore, this paper establishes a multi-UAV relaying system model based on a hierarchical game framework and proposes a joint optimization scheme for relay selection and location deployment (RSLD) based on Stackelberg game. The optimization objective is to maximize the global network rate of the system under limited channel resources. Due to the discrete nature of relay selection, this paper models the competition among users for relays using a congestion game model. Based on a many-to-one matching game, the relay selection of each user is adjusted. Subsequently, the relay UAVs optimize their location deployment using a mixed strategy and an iterative algorithm. The two processes iterate with each other until the Stackelberg equilibrium is reached. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed RSLD scheme achieves higher transmission and fairness satisfaction compared with the random relay assignment scheme. Furthermore, it has good robustness when facing changes in network states. © 2023 IEEE.

Clustering is a typical unsupervised learning method for classifying unsupervised data. One of the clustering meth-ods, even-sized clustering based on optimization (ECBO), is a clustering algorithm that imposes a constraint to equalize the size of each cluster. ECBO has been suggested to be effective in delivery and other problems. However, it is limited to Euclidean space. On the other hand, spectral clustering with a wide range of applicability for partitioning graph data has been proposed. In this paper, we propose even-sized spectral clustering, which imposes a size-equal constraint on spectral clustering, and show that it is an extension of the graph partitioning problem. We also verify the validity of the results through numerical examples. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a bee colony optimization RWA algorithm based on window classification strategy. The algorithm can use the window classification strategy for node selection, and adaptively adjust the fitness function for different services to evaluate the existing feasible solutions. Simulation results show that this algorithm has superior performance in terms of blocking rate and delay. © 2023 IEEE.

We relax the laser linewidth requirement for carrier phase-detection based vibration sensing via the delayed self-heterodyne interferometry scheme. In addition, we transmit net 4.8 Tb/s/λ signals over 55.9 km of weakly coupled seven-core fiber with joint vibration sensing utilizing 100 kHz linewidth external cavity lasers. © 2024 IEEE.

Expression of hate content through social media is prevalent and a global issue. The objective of this paper is to conduct analysis on hate content research and suggest policies to combat online hate content. The Scopus database containing published articles is queried with a set of keywords and filtering techniques to obtain relevant documents on hate content research. Different bibliometric analysis approaches such as bibliometric coupling, co-occurrence of keywords and citation analysis of documents are applied on selected dataset. Bibliometric analysis resulted with major sources of hate content research, most associated keywords with hate content and top cited articles. From the year 2015 onwards, there is a rapid increase in hate content research. Currently, different social media and its content are the most associated keywords with hate content. © 2024 IEEE.

Efficient detection of single optical centres in solids is essential for quantum information processing, sensing and single-photon generation *** this work,we use radio-frequency（RF） reflectometry to electrically detect the photoionisation induced by a single Er3+ion in *** high bandwidth and sensitivity of the RF reflectometry provide sub-100-ns time resolution for the photoionisation *** this technique,the optically excited state lifetime of a single Er3+ion in a Si nano-transistor is measured for the first time to be 0.49±0.04μ*** results demonstrate an efficient approach for detecting a charge state change induced by Er excitation and *** approach could be used for fast readout of other single optical centres in solids and is attractive for large-scale integrated optical quantum systems thanks to the multi-channel RF reflectometry demonstrated with frequency multiplexing techniques.

The digitization and preservation of Tamil inscriptions are crucial for safeguarding the rich cultural heritage they represent. This study presents an in-depth evaluation of deep learning-based segmentation methods specifically designed for the complex and ancient Tamil script. Evaluate several cutting-edge deep learning models, including Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Fully Convolutional Networks (FCNs), U-Net, and attention-based mechanisms, using a dataset of Tamil inscriptions. The evaluation criteria encompass segmentation accuracy, computational efficiency, and the ability to handle the noise and degradation common in historical artifacts. Our findings indicate that traditional methods often falter when faced with the complexities of Tamil script, whereas advanced deep learning techniques markedly enhance segmentation quality. This improvement facilitates more precise transcription and analysis. The comparison emphasizes the benefits and challenges of each method, delivering important insights into their effectiveness for cultural heritage preservation and paving the way for future research in the digitization of ancient scripts. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to forecast the run time of the jobs that were submitted, this research provides two linear regression prediction models that include continuous and categorical factors. A continuous predictor is built using the number of CPUs, average CPU speed, and memory size, whereas a categorical predictor is built using the user ID, group ID, and executable ID. According to the findings, the prediction rates for categorical and continuous predictors are 61% and 1%, respectively. sixty times better than the earlier models, which used continuous variables as a foundational model to determine task complexity and weight. The effectiveness of the categorical predictor in enhancing a job scheduling problem is then evaluated by combining it with three suggested job scheduling strategies. The suggested algorithms incorporated metrics - predicted run time, waiting time, and resource requirement - to select the smallest jobs. According to the results, Algorithm 3 performs better than earlier models in both performance metrics. The variation in total execution time and average waiting time is 1.14 to 1.76 and 4.5, respectively compared to previous models, Additionally, Algorithms 1 and 2 demonstrating superior performance in every scenario. © 2024 IEEE.

Dynamic point clouds can be compressed by eliminating spatial and temporal redundancy, but few research studies have considered both simultaneously. Existing research can only distinguish the specific foreground and background of the scene, achieving the former with a limited compression ratio, while the latter relies on 3D motion estimation with high computing complexity. Therefore, it is difficult to meet the real-time requirement of building remote human-robot interaction system. Aiming at the shortcomings of the above methods, a dynamic point cloud fast compression framework based on eliminating spatial and temporal redundancy is proposed. On the one hand, for eliminating the spatial redundancy, the information of the recognized objects in point cloud data will be replaced with their categories and poses. On the other hand, we eliminate the temporal redundancy by using the motion vector of the point cloud macroblock. Specifically, in order to reduce cost time of the 3D motion estimation, we firstly introduce the 2D image ORB feature to calculate the motion vector from current frame to key frame, and then look for the similar macroblock in key frame. Thus, the information of the macroblocks similar to the key frame in the current frame is replaced by the index of the corresponding macroblocks of the key frame and the motion vector. Experimental results show that the proposed method has higher computational efficiency and compression quality than the existing compression algorithm. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.
