Due to its high mobility and flexible deployment,unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)is drawing unprecedented interest in both military and civil applications to enable agile and ubiquitous *** operating in an open environment,UAV communications benefit from dominant line-of-sight links;however,this on the other hand renders the communications more vulnerable to malicious ***,physical layer security(PLS)has been introduced to UAV systems as an important complement to the conventional cryptography-based *** this paper,a comprehensive survey on the current achievements of UAV-PLS is *** first introduce the basic concepts including typical static/-mobile UAV deployment scenarios,the unique air-toground channel and aerial nodes distribution models,as well as various roles that a UAV may act when PLS is ***,we start by reviewing the secrecy performance analysis and enhancing techniques for statically deployed UAV systems,and extend the discussion to the more general scenario where the UAVs’mobility is further *** both cases,respectively,we summarize the commonly adopted methodologies,then describe important works in the litera ture in ***,potential research directions and challenges are discussed to provide an outlook for future works in the area of UAV-PLS.

Flexible electrohydrodynamic(EHD)pumps have been developed and applied in many fields due to no transmission structure,no wear,easy manipulation,and no *** simulation is often used to predict the output performance of flexible EHD ***,this method neglects fluid–solid interaction and energy loss caused by flexible materials,which are both difficult to calculate when the flexible pumps ***,this study proposes a flexible pump output performance prediction using machine learning *** used three different types of machine learning:random forest regression,ridge regression,and neural network to predict the critical parameters(pressure,flow rate,and power)of the flexible EHD ***,angle,gap,overlap,and channel height are selected as five input data of the neural *** addition,we optimized essential parameters in the three ***,we adopt the best predictive model and evaluate the significance of five input parameters to the output performance of the flexible EHD *** the three methods,the MLP model has exceptionally high accuracy in predicting pressure and *** work is beneficial for the design process of fluid sources in flexible soft actuators and soft hydraulic sources in microfluidic chips.

In this paper, we propose a broadband metamaterial aperture antenna with focused beam in K-band (17 GHz to 27 GHz), which is a new randomly stochastic radiation source for microwave staring correlated imaging. The antenna consists of a non-resonant circular radiation aperture with a via fence on its boundary. A rectangular metal enclosure is added around the antenna to focus the beam towards the imaging target area, thereby increasing the antenna gain. The antenna generates stochastic radiation fields in the target area through frequency scanning, and its simple structure and low manufacturing tolerances make it easy to manufacture. We demonstrate its ability to generate low correlation stochastic radiation fields and perform simulation imaging experiments to verify the excellent performance of the antenna. © 2023 IEEE.

At CHES 2022, Wang et al. described a new paradigm for masked implementations using private circuits, where most intermediates can be precomputed before the input shares are accessed, significantly accelerating the online execution of masked functions. However, the masking scheme they proposed mainly featured (and was designed for) the cost amortization, leaving its (limited) suitability in the above precomputation-based paradigm just as a bonus. This paper aims to provide an efficient, reliable, easy-to-use, and precomputation-compatible masking scheme. We propose a new masked multiplication over the finite field Fq suitable for the precomputation, and prove its security in the composable notion called Probing-Isolating Non-Inference (PINI). Particularly, the operations (e.g., AND and XOR) in the binary field can be achieved by assigning q = 2, allowing the bitsliced implementation that has been shown to be quite efficient for the software implementations. The new masking scheme is applied to leverage the masking of AES and SKINNY block ciphers on ARM Cortex M architecture. The performance results show that the new scheme contributes to a significant speed-up compared with the state-of-the-art implementations. For SKINNY with block size 64, the speed and RAM requirement can be significantly improved (saving around 45% cycles in the online-computation and 60% RAM space for precomputed values) from AES-128, thanks to its smaller number of AND gates. Besides the security proof by hand, we provide formal verifications for the multiplication and T-test evaluations for the masked implementations of AES and SKINNY. Because of the structure of the new masked multiplication, our formal verification can be performed for security orders up to 16. © 2023, Ruhr-University of Bochum. All rights reserved.

A 1.65 to 1.84 GHz Filtering SPDT Switch With Fully Tunable Insertion Phase Using NRN and Mixed Electromagnetic Coupling Techniques

This brief presents a novel filtering single-pole-double-throw (SPDT) switch with continuously tunable center frequency and insertion phase. It is comprised of six varactor-loaded microstrip resonators and three tunable non-resonating nodes (NRNs) at source and loads. The controllable mixed electromagnetic couplings are introduced on the two main paths of each channel of the switch. At ON-state, the designed filtering switch can generate a 4th-order bandpass filtering performance with high selectivity, and the insertion phase can be continuously tuned with a full 360° tuning range by changing the reactances of NRNs and switching the dominated modes of the mixed couplings. At OFF-state, the mixed electromagnetic couplings are set to zero, and hence high isolation can be realized. To validate the proposed technique, a circuit prototype is designed and fabricated. The measured results suggest that the designed filtering SPDT switch can operate with a tunable center frequency ranging from 1.65 GHz to 1.84 GHz, and its insertion phase at ON-state channel can be continuously tuned from -180° to 180°. During the whole tuning process, the measured in-band isolation for OFF-state channel keeps better than 40 dB. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper investigates the secure transmission for reconfigurable intelligent surface(RIS)-assisted wireless communication *** the studied model,one user connects to the access point via a RIS while an eavesdropper eavesdrops on the signal sent from the user to the access ***,it is necessary to design an appropriate RIS reflection vector to solve the eavesdropping *** problem is formulated as an optimization problem whose goal is to maximize the secure energy efficiency which is defined as the ratio of the secure rate to the total energy consumption of the system via jointly optimizing the RIS reflection reflector as well as the number of RIS elements,which results in a non-convex optimization problem that is intractable to solve by traditional *** tackle this issue,a new algorithm by leveraging the advance of the established deep learning(DL)technique is proposed so as to find the optimal RIS reflection vector and determine the optimal number of RIS reflection *** results show that the proposed method reaches 96%of the optimal secure energy efficiency of the genie-aided algorithm.

Wireless federated learning (FL) is envisioned as a promising paradigm of distributed learning in wireless networks without disclosing users' data privacy. However, radio channel leads to a potential risk of eavesdropping attack when sending the trained model data in wireless networks. To address this eavesdropping attack, in this work, we propose an energy-efficient wireless FL by using artificial jamming. Specifically, the group of wireless devices (WDs) adopt the time division multiple access (TDMA) approach to send their locally trained models to the FL server for model aggregation subject to the eavesdropping attack of a malicious node. When one of the WDs sends its local model, all the other WDs send the artificial jamming signals to interfere with the eavesdropper, which helps increase the secrecy throughput of the targeted WD for uploading its local model. Different from many existing studies using stochastic gradient descent (SGD), we adopt the stochastic average gradient (SAG) method in the local training to improve the convergence of FL and derive the corresponding lower bound of the FL convergence rate via SAG. Furthermore, we formulate an optimization problem that aims at minimizing the energy consumption of the WDs by jointly optimizing different WDs' local training time, their uploading transmission time in TDMA and the transmit-powers for providing artificial jamming, as well as the FL configurations of the local/global iterations. We also propose an efficient algorithm for solving this non-convex optimization problem. Numerical results are illustrated to validate the advantages of our design of wireless FL and the corresponding algorithms. In particular, the results demonstrate that our secrecy oriented energy-efficient FL can significantly outperform the other heuristic FL schemes. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Colorectal intraepithelial neoplasia is a precancerous lesion of colorectal cancer, which is mainly diagnosed using pathological images. According to the characteristics of lesions, precancerous lesions can be classified into four different grades, i.e., background, normal, low and high level. However, due to the continuity of lesion development, tissue in different stages has high similarity. Recently, visual transformers have achieved impressive results in different visual tasks, due to their capacity of capturing long-range dependencies. However, due to computational cost, transformer cannot well extract detailed feature, which is important for lesion grading. To accurately segment pathological tissues with high similarity, in this work, we embed the multi-head MLP mixer module in the transformer network to extract cell and edge information. Furthermore, we propose a hierarchical MLP decoder to facilitate multi-scale feature fusion. The proposed transformer, namely MLPFormer, achieves remarkable results against competitive baselines on the Histo-CRC Biopsy dataset. The experimental results demonstrate that MLPFormer significantly outperforms the competitive baselines, i.e., a 3% dice improvement is achieved over the SegFormer series. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2024.

Big Data Analytics (BDA) technology is an emerging desire within public sector organizations. It can be applied to meet the rising global demand for informed decision-making and cost-effective and reliable public services. As a result, BDA has been put forward on the planning agendas of different public sector organizations and governments at large. However, regardless of BDA technologies being widely spread, there is a high failure rate associated with BDA implementation projects in public sector organizations. The paper determines the requirements for designing business-driven reference architecture for the implementation of BDA by public sector organizations, taking Uganda as a case study for developing countries, considering The Uganda Bureau of Statistics, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Education purposively chosen. To accomplish the study's goals, the mixed research methodology (Questionnaire and Mini-literature review) was used. The study used a questionnaire and conducted a mini literature review executed under design science research methodology. The questionnaire was given to 36 information technology (IT) and Managerial (M) staff. Some of the derived requirements by the study that need public sector organizations' attention include;the component for identifying the business process/Use case first for which data is needed so that these business processes generate added business value to the public sector organization in question, need to support diversified processing and analysis (like predictive, batch-oriented, real-time, and stream, among others), need to support high-level/advanced data security measures such as time multiplexing and Key management, component to support low, medium, and high volumes of data among others. © 2023 IEEE.
