External blast flow field evolution and response mechanism of single-layer reticulated dome structure

Single-layer reticulated dome structure are commonly high-profile building in the public and can be attractive targets for terrorist bombings,so the public can benefit from enhanced safety with a stronger understanding of the behavior of single-layer reticulated dome structure under *** paper investigates the fluid-structure interaction process and the dynamic response performance of the singlelayer reticulated dome under external blast *** experimental and numerical results shown that structural deformation is remarkably delayed compared with the velocity of blast wave,which advises the dynamic response of large-span reticulated dome structure has a negligible effect on the blast wave propagation under *** failure modes are identified by comparing the plastic development of each ring and the residual spatial geometric of the structure,i.e.,minor vibration,local depression,severe damage,and overall *** plastic deformation energy and the displacement potential energy of the structure are the main consumers of the blast *** addition,the stress performance of the vertex member and the deep plastic ratio of the whole structure can serve as qualitative indicators to distinguish different failure modes.

In this paper, a compact structure-shared dual-mode open waveguide antenna (OWA) is designed with a binary dipole array (DA) fed by substrate integrated waveguide (SIW). The dual-mode resonance of OWA comes from its open-ended cavity and coaxial feeding probe which works as a monopole antenna. The OWA occupies 3.80-4.88 GHz, about 28.3% at the center frequency. And the binary DA fed by SIW with constant-amplitude and invert-phase excitation operates at 5.78-6.48 GHz. Furthermore, the binary DA is integrated in one broadside wall of the waveguide. With this topology, the isolation between OWA and DA is greater than 20 dB due to orthogonal polarization. © 2023 IEEE.

Jetting of a near-wall cavitation bubble induced by another tandem bubble

Double bubbles near a rigid wall surface collapse to produce a significant jet impact,with potential applications in surface cleaning and ultrasonic ***,the dynamic behaviors of near-wall bubbles remain *** this study,we investigate the jetting of a near-wall bubble induced by another tandem *** define two dimensionless standoff distances,γ_(1),γ_(2),to represent the distances from the center of the near-wall bubble to the rigid wall and the center of controlling bubble to the center of the near-wall bubble,*** observations reveal three distinct jetting regimes for the near-wall bubble:transferred jetting,double jetting,and directed *** further investigate the jetting mechanism,numerical simulations are conducted using the compressibleInterFoam solver in the open-source framework of OpenFOAM.A detailed analysis shows that the transferred jet flow is caused by the pinch-off resulting from the axial contraction velocity at the lower end of the near-wall bubble being greater than the vertical contraction velocity,leading to a maximum jet velocity of 682.58 m/*** the case of double jetting,intense stretching between the controlling bubble and the wall leads to a pinch-off and a double jetting with a maximum velocity of 1096.29 m/*** directed jet flow is caused by the downward movement of the high-pressure region generated by the premature collapse of the controlling bubble,with the maximum jet velocity reaching 444.62 m/s.

Although numerous metal halide perovskite materials have been investigated in the field of optoelectronic,the development of perovskite heterojunctions with exotic structures is still ***,we report the epitaxial growth of quasi-two-dimensional(Q-2D)perovskites on methylammonium lead iodide(MAPbI_(3))single crystals to form perovskite heterojunctions with interfacial *** MAPbI_(3)adjacent to epitaxial Q-2D perovskite shows blue shifted photoluminescence with shortened lifetime,which becomes significant with the reduced layer number of the Q-2D *** findings suggest the presence of an interfacial strain gradient leading to enhanced photocarrier ***,compared to the MAPbI_(3)single crystal detector,the BA_(2)MAPb_(2)I_(7)/MAPbI_(3)(BA:n-butylamine)heterojunction-based photodetector demonstrates a bandpass detecting property and exhibits 5 times enhanced external quantum efficiency and 83 times enhanced specific detectivity(D*=3.26×10^(11)Jones).Remarkably,the unencapsulated BA_(2)MAPb_(2)I_(7)/MAPbI_(3)heterojunction is stable in ambient condition for>300 *** Q-2D/3D heterojunction shows suppressed ion inter-diffusion due to the presence of Q-2D phase.

The rapid population growth results in a crucial problem in the early detection of diseases inmedical *** all the cancers unveiled,breast cancer is considered the second most severe ***,an exponential rising in death cases incurred by breast cancer is expected due to the rapid population growth and the lack of resources required for performing medical *** recent advances in machine learning could help medical staff in diagnosing diseases as they offer effective,reliable,and rapid responses,which could help in decreasing the death *** this paper,we propose a new algorithm for feature selection based on a hybrid between powerful and recently emerged optimizers,namely,guided whale and dipper throated *** proposed algorithm is evaluated using four publicly available breast cancer *** evaluation results show the effectiveness of the proposed approach from the accuracy and speed *** prove the superiority of the proposed algorithm,a set of competing feature selection algorithms were incorporated into the conducted *** addition,a group of statistical analysis experiments was conducted to emphasize the superiority and stability of the proposed *** best-achieved breast cancer prediction average accuracy based on the proposed algorithm is 99.453%.This result is achieved in an average time of 3.6725 s,the best result among all the competing approaches utilized in the experiments.

In this paper, a high isolation ultra-wideband (UWB) 8-element MIMO antenna array for 5G mobile terminals has come up. The antenna array is composed of four identical antenna pairs, which are respectively arranged on the inside of the four frames. Broadband decoupling is realized by loading the shorting stub connected to the ground plane set in the middle of the antenna pair. High-resolution landslide images are required for detailed geomorphological analysis in complex topographic environment with steep and vertical landslide *** study proposed a vertical route planning method for unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),which could achieve rapid image collection based on strictly calculated route *** effectiveness of this method was verified using a DJI Mavic 2 Pro,obtaining high-resolution landslide images within the Dongchuan debris flow gully,in the Xiaojiang River Basin,Dongchuan District,Yunnan,China.A three-dimensional(3D)model was constructed by the structure-from-motion and multi-view stereo(SfM-MVS).Micro-geomorphic features were analyzed through visual interpretation,geographic information system(GIS),spatial analysis,and mathematical statistics *** results demonstrated that the proposed method could obtain comprehensive vertical information on landslides while improving measurement *** 3D model was constructed using the vertically oriented flight route to achieve centimeter-level accuracy(horizontal accuracy better than 6 cm,elevation accuracy better than 3 cm,and relative accuracy better than 3.5 cm).The UAV technology could further help understand the micro internal spatial and structural characteristics of landslides,facilitating intuitive acquisition of surface *** slope of landslide clusters ranged from 36°to 72°,with the majority of the slope facing east and *** elevation levels were relatively consistent while middle to lower elevation levels gradually decreased from left to right with significant variations in lower elevation *** the rainy season,surface runoff was abundant,and steep topography exacerbated changes in surface *** route method is suitable for unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)landslide surveys in complex mountainous *** geomorphological analysis methods used will provide references for identifying and describing topographic

The rapid expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) de-vices poses substantial challenges to the Quality of Service (QoS) provided by edge servers, which are often constrained by limited resources, particularly when handling numerous time-sensitive tasks. To address these challenges cost-effectively, collaborative edge computing has been introduced. This approach enhances system performance by enabling edge servers to offload tasks to neighboring edge servers or remote cloud servers, thereby alleviating the computational burden. However, existing research often falls short in providing robust long-term solutions for real-time online scenarios where tasks arrive unpredictably, lacking prior information. To this end, this paper explores the problem of online workload management in collaborative edge computing systems, aiming to improve the long-term utility of edge servers. We formulate the problem as a non-linear optimization problem. To solve this problem efficiently within polynomial time, we intro-duce an online two-phase workload management scheme called OTWMS. This scheme breaks down the workload management problem into several distributed and parallelizable local resource allocation problems and a centralized task migration matching problem. Through evaluation experiments, we demonstrate that the proposed scheme surpasses several benchmarks in terms of long-term utility and service performance optimization.

Terahertz generation via the inverse orbital Rashba-Edelstein effect at the Ni/CuOx interface

Orbitronics provides novel mechanisms to generate terahertz (THz) emission using the orbital angular momentum of electrons. Here, we report a systematic investigation of the THz emission from Ni/CuOx heterostructures pumped by a femtosecond laser pulse. Despite the very weak spin-orbit coupling of CuOx, considerable THz radiation from Ni/CuOx has been observed, with a polarity state that is magnetically controllable and the intensity as much as about 20% of that found in Ni/Pt spintronic THz emitter. We find conclusive evidence that THz radiation stems from the inverse orbital Rashba-Edelstein effect at the Ni/CuOx interface, which can be manipulated by tuning oxygen-induced orbital hybridization. Our experimental results of Ni thickness-dependent THz emission, combined with theoretical modeling, reveal long-range diffusion-length characteristics of orbital current within the Ni layer. This work enhances the understanding of the THz emission mechanism based on orbital-to-charge conversion, providing guidance for the development of orbitronic THz emitters.

The dynamic connectivity and functionality of sensors has revolutionized remote monitoring applications thanks to the combination of IoT and wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Wearable wireless medical sensor nodes allow continuous monitoring by amassing physiological data, which is very useful in healthcare applications. These text data are then sent to doctors via IoT devices so they can make an accurate diagnosis as soon as possible. However, the transmission of medical text data is extremely vulnerable to security and privacy assaults due to the open nature of the underlying communication medium. Therefore, a certificate-less aggregation-based signature system has been proposed as a solution to the issue by using elliptic curve public key cryptography (ECC) which allows for a highly effective technique. The cost of computing has been reduced by 93% due to the incorporation of aggregation technology. The communication cost is 400 bits which is a significant reduction when compared with its counterparts. The results of the security analysis show that the scheme is robust against forging, tampering, and man-in-the-middle attacks. The primary innovation is that the time required for signature verification can be reduced by using point addition and aggregation. In addition, it does away with the reliance on a centralized medical server in order to do verification. By taking a distributed approach, it is able to fully preserve user privacy, proving its superiority. © 2023, The Author(s).
