UWB Channel Modeling and Simulation with Continuous Frequency Response

Ultra-wideband(UWB)technology is a prospective technology for high-rate transmission and accurate localization in the future communication ***-of-art channel modeling approaches usually divide the UWB channel into several sub-band channels and model them *** considering frequency-dependent channel parameters,a novel analytical UWB channel model with continuous frequency response is *** composite effect of all frequency components within the UWB channel on the channel impulse response(CIR)of delay domain is derived based on the continuous channel transfer function(CTF)of frequency *** this basis,a closed-form simulation model for UWB channels and geometry-based parameter calculation method are developed,which can guarantee the continuity of channel characteristics on the frequency domain and greatly reduce the simulation ***,the proposed method is applied to generate UWB channel with 2 GHz bandwidth at sub-6GHz and millimeter wave(mmWave)bands,*** channel measurements are also carried out to validate the proposed *** simulated CIR and power gain are shown to be in good agreement with the measurement ***,the comparison results of power gain and Doppler power spectral density(DPSD)show that the proposed UWB channel model Received:Apr.23,2022 Revised:Jun.09,2022 Editor:Wei Fan achieves a good balance between the simulation accuracy and efficiency.

The simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) of mobile robot is one of the important technologies of mobile robot application., which has been paid much attention. Laser SLAM., as the most traditional SLAM algorithm., has been widely used in mobile robots. In this paper., the problem of synchronous positioning and mapping of mobile robot is studied. Ceres back-end optimization library was introduced into the back-end to improve Karto algorithm to eliminate the phenomenon of overlapping in the process of mobile robot mapping and achieve more accurate mapping effect. Finally., simulation experiments based on ROS experimental platform are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

Multi-stage biomedical feature selection extraction algorithm for cancer detection

Cancer is a significant cause of death worldwide. Early cancer detection is greatly aided by machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to gene microarray data sets (microarray data). Despite this, there is a significant discrepancy between the number of gene features in the microarray data set and the number of samples. Because of this, it is crucial to identify markers for gene array data. Existing feature selection algorithms, however, generally use long-standing, are limited to single-condition feature selection and rarely take feature extraction into account. This work proposes a Multi-stage algorithm for Biomedical Deep Feature Selection (MBDFS) to address this issue. In the first, three feature selection techniques are combined for thorough feature selection, and feature subsets are obtained;in the second, an unsupervised neural network is used to create the best representation of the feature subset to enhance final classification accuracy. Using a variety of metrics, including a comparison of classification results before and after feature selection and the performance of alternative feature selection methods, we evaluate MBDFS's efficacy. The experiments demonstrate that although MBDFS uses fewer features, classification accuracy is either unchanged or enhanced. © 2023, The Author(s).

This study aimed to develop a pioneering augmented reality (AR) environment focused on nurturing early computational thinking skills in kindergarten through second-grade students. Rooted in embodied cognition and social robotics, the project seamlessly integrated AR technology with a physically embodied robot named Linibot. Children engaged in a chessboard-like grid navigation, guided by Linibot through a tablet displaying AR obstacles. The educational objectives encompassed building STEM problem-solving skills, understanding symbols and sequences, and fostering confidence in technology utilization. Pre- and post-tests were employed to assess the impact of the AR environment on computational thinking skills within an intervention group. Developed and refined iteratively over two and a half years, the environment underwent testing with thirty-five children in diverse settings, including a showcase event involving twenty children. The ongoing analysis of interaction logs aims to evaluate children's performance, refine AR obstacles and robot cues, and present findings in this poster session for discussions on implications for developmentally appropriate learning and ecologically valid assessment. Preliminary results from five students in the intervention group revealed improvements in task performance related to path-finding tasks compared to the pre-test. The average duration of task completion decreased by 42%, the average number of instances of avoiding difficult problems substantially decreased by 80%, and the number of missions achieved increased by 80%. This impact was more pronounced for students who faced greater challenges during the pre-tests. The preliminary findings suggest that the proposed AR educational tool not only enhanced students' computational thinking but also influenced their learning behavior, encouraging them to tackle difficult problems rather than avoid them. Human speech and animal vocalizations are important for social communication and animal *** in the auditory pathway are responsive to a range of sounds, from elementary sound features to complex acoustic sounds. For social communication, responses to distinct patterns of vocalization are usually highly specific to an individual conspecific call, in some species. This includes the specificity of sound patterns and embedded biological information. We conducted single-unit recordings in the amygdala of awake marmosets and presented calls used in marmoset communication, calls of other species and calls from specific marmoset individuals. We found that some neurons(47/262) in the amygdala distinguished 'Phee' calls from vocalizations of other animals and other types of marmoset vocalizations. Interestingly, a subset of Phee-responsive neurons(22/47) also exhibited selectivity to one out of the three Phees from two different 'caller' marmosets. Our findings suggest that, while it has traditionally been considered the key structure in the limbic system, the amygdala also represents a critical stage of socially relevant auditory perceptual processing.

Intracellular pH plays a critical role in biological functions,and abnormal pH values are related to various ***,we report on an intracellular pH sensor AgInS_(2)(AIS)/ZnS quantum dots(QDs)that show long fluorescence lifetimes of hundreds of nanoseconds and low *** lifetime imaging microscopy(FLIM)combined with AIS/ZnS QDs is used for the imaging of live cells in different pH buffers and different cell *** FLIM images of AIS/ZnS QDs in live cells demonstrate different intracellular pH values in different regions,such as in lysosomes or *** method can also distinguish cancer cells from normal cells,and the fluorescence lifetime difference of the AIS/ZnS QDs between the two types of cells is 100±7 *** importantly,the exfoliated cervical cells from 20 patients are investigated using FLIM combined with AIS/ZnS *** lifetime difference value between the normal and cervical cancer(CC)groups is 115±9 ns,and the difference between the normal and the precancerous lesion group is 64±9 *** the first time,the noninvasive method has been used for cervical cancer screening,and it has shown great improvement in sensitivity compared with a clinical conventional cytology examination.
