In this paper, we present a solution to the MuSe-Personalisation sub-challenge in the Multimodal Sentiment Analysis Challenge 2023. The task of MuSe-Personalisation aims to predict a time-continuous emotional value (i.e., arousal and valence) by using multimodal data. The MuSe-Personalisation sub-challenge faces the individual variations problem, resulting in poor generalization on unknown test sets. To solve the above problem, we first extract several informative visual features, and then propose a framework containing feature selection, feature learning and fusion strategy to discover the best combination of features for sentiment analysis. Finally, our method achieved the Top 1 performance in the MuSe-Personalisation sub-challenge, and the result in the combined CCC of physiological arousal and valence was 0.8681, outperforming the baseline system by a large margin (i.e., 10.42%) on the test set. © 2023 ACM.

Traditional dental plaque detection relies on medical staining reagents and professional intervention. Deep learning-based automatic staining-free dental plaque segmentation provides an alternative for patients to perform plaque detection at home without staining reagents. However, existing methods still struggle with low-contrast visual features between unstained plaque and healthy teeth. To address this, we propose a Frequency-Guided Network (FGN) for low-contrast staining-free dental plaque segmentation. We observe that dental plaque tends to concentrate specifically near the junction between the teeth and the gingiva. This junction demonstrates abrupt changes in pixel values, indicating high-frequency regions in the image. In other words, dental plaque tends to appear near the high-frequency regions of oral endoscope images. Exploiting this characteristic, we employ a frequency-guided decoupling module to separate the image into high-frequency and low-frequency regions automatically and expand the high-frequency region to encompass nearby potential dental plaque. Then we supervise two regions individually to specifically focus on the expended high-frequency region for localizing nearby dental plaque. Additionally, we propose a high-to-low frequency multiple tasks framework. In the first phase, the network segments the teeth region, and then we input the teeth mask into the second phase. In the second stage, the teeth mask allows us to have a higher frequency at the junction between the teeth and gums, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of frequency-guided decoupling. Furthermore, FGN integrates a frequency-driven refinement module to enhance the guidance quality of the teeth mask for the second phase. Extensive evaluations of the oral endoscope dataset demonstrate that our method outperforms existing high-performance segmentation methods. In haptic shared control (HSC) for teleoperation, the human operator and autonomous system share control via torque on the input device. When a discrepancy exists between the human's maneuvering intent and the autonomous maneuver presentation, the human can apply additional force to the device to achieve the desired maneuvering. The required force level is generally predetermined during design and closely relates to the human workload. This study investigated scenarios where discrepancies between human and machine control occur frequently owing to unreliable sensor information. We propose a method to allow the operator to adjust the machine's assist level, facilitating smoother control transitions and proving useful when machine suggestions are unreliable. Conventional HSC systems generally lack sufficient information for operators to make informed decisions regarding adjusting assist levels, leading to delayed decisions and increased workloads. To address this, our research objective is to communicate sensor reliability to humans, thereby facilitating deciding the machine's assist level. We focused on the HSC of a remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) where the sensor system is prone to unreliable. Maneuvering experiments with an ROV simulation involving sixteen participants demonstrated the proposed method effectively communicates sensor reliability to operators and reduces mental demand compared to conventional methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Printed circuit board dielectric substrates are composite materials produced by embedding fiber glass fabrics into epoxy resin. Because of this the medium in the PCB transmission lines is inhomogeneous which often leads to degradation of the signal integrity performance of the lines, particularly due to the differential skew. The detrimental effect of the fiber weave can be modeled relatively accurately using full-wave analysis, but at a high computational cost. Alternative modelling techniques are less demanding, but often lack accuracy. This article investigates a possibility of using the 2D cross-sectional analysis for the fiber weave effect modeling, which considerably decreases the computational cost of modeling while retaining the accuracy inherent to the field solvers. © 2024 IEEE.

By coherently superimposing two chirped vortex pulses with frequency differences and conjugate topological charges, a tunable ultrafast rotating optical field is generated. The interfering device is an asymmetric Michelson interferometer. There are three parameters to regulate the ultrafast rotating optical field: the topological charge difference ∆l;the chirp constant C;the optical path difference of the two interference pulses Δt. The experiment obtained the dynamic image of the rotating optical field by the nonlinear sampling ultrafast imaging, the rotational angular velocity measured in the experiment is 2.368 Trad/s, which are in good agreement with the theoretical calculations. Two nonlinear imaging mechanisms, sum-frequency generation (SFG) and optical parametric amplification (OPA), are applied for ultrafast nonlinear sampling. The results show that at the same rotational angular velocity of the rotating optical field, the image quality of OPA imaging is better than that of SFG imaging. These rotation optical fields at Trad/s level have important potential applications in particle acceleration, vortex THz wave generation, laser fine machine, etc. © 2023 SPIE.

Nowadays, the widespread internet technology brings out rapid advancement in the use of videos for sharing huge amounts of secret data. Conversely, the privacy of transmitted digital content is jeopardized by digital image processing techniques that are capable of producing flawless image or video duplication. Moreover, providing security to digital records in the form of videos is a highly challenging task, which requires a fusion-based watermarking technique to protect the data from illegitimate access and fraudulent usage. In this investigation, a tiny Swin and Arnold Transform-enabled Multi-aggregation model was introduced to protect video based on digital watermarking characteristics at a very low computational cost. Here, the Swin-T features are extracted from the input video, over which the Arnold transform and multi-aggregation model is developed in two phases. The best embedding location is identified by using multi aggregation model initially at the embedding phase and the inverse Arnold transform for secret image (VIT Logo) embedding in a binary embedding location to obtain the embedded video. The secret image is extracted from the attacked embedded video using the Arnold transform-multi-aggregation model in the extraction phase. The developed data-hiding technique is also evaluated to compute the robustness using the evaluation parameters. The simulation results reveal that the developed scheme achieved Peak-Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR) and Similarity Index Measure (SSIM) values of $64.57 \mathrm{~dB}$ and 0.9993 respectively.

In the rapidly evolving landscape of IT services, traditional IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks often struggle to keep pace with the dynamic needs of businesses. This paper explores the integration of agile principles into ITSM practices to enhance flexibility, responsiveness, and overall service delivery. Utilizing a real-world case study from a leading technology firm, this study examines the process of embedding agile methodologies-such as Scrum and Kanban-into existing ITSM frameworks. The objective is to demonstrate how agile practices can be harmonized with ITSM to address the challenges of maintaining service quality in the face of continuous change. Data were collected through a combination of interviews, direct observations, and analysis of service performance metrics before and after the integration. Key findings reveal significant improvements in service response times, team collaboration, and customer satisfaction. However, the integration also posed challenges, particularly in aligning Agile's iterative nature with ITSM's structured processes. The implications of these findings suggest that while Agile principles can greatly enhance ITSM, careful consideration of organizational culture and process adaptation is essential for successful implementation. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper,an effective target locating approach based on the fingerprint fusion posi-tioning(FFP)method is proposed which integrates the time-difference of arrival(TDOA)and the received signal strength according to the statistical variance of target position in the stationary 3D *** FFP method fuses the pedestrian dead reckoning(PDR)estimation to solve the moving target localization *** also introduce auxiliary parameters to estimate the target motion ***,we can locate the static pedestrians and track the the moving *** the case study,eight access stationary points are placed on a bookshelf and hypermarket;one target node is moving inside hypermarkets in 2D and 3D scenarios or stationary on the *** compare the performance of our proposed method with existing localization algorithms such as k-nearest neighbor,weighted k-nearest neighbor,pure TDOA and fingerprinting combining Bayesian frameworks including the extended Kalman filter,unscented Kalman filter and particle fil-ter(PF).The proposed approach outperforms obviously the counterpart methodologies in terms of the root mean square error and the cumulative distribution function of localization errors,espe-cially in the 3D *** results corroborate the effectiveness of our proposed approach.

Recent technological advancements have paved the way for the optimization of medical processes, particularly automated disease detection. Moreover, the adoption of machine learning (ML) has greatly helped in automating disease detection. Such approaches can detect various diseases early, enabling timely treatment to save countless lives. Early and accurate diagnosis is very important for diseases like monkeypox, to curb its spread. Monkeypox is a viral disease caused by double-stranded DNA and can be transmitted through close contact with infected humans or animals. It’s early identification and accurate lesion diagnosis are critical to contain the disease. This study proposes an automated approach to optimize the diagnosis of monkeypox disease using a novel vision transformer, which is utilized due to its effectiveness for feature extraction. The Proposed approach’s efficiency and accuracy are tested on a public benchmark dataset comprising a variety of skin lesions of different ages and genders. In addition, data augmentation involves rotation, scaling, and flipping thereby enhancing the density of the training data set for better generalization of ML models. Experiments involve binary, as well as, multi-class classification. For the binary class, the proposed model achieves an accuracy of 97.63%, outperforming traditional ML and deep learning (DL) techniques. In the case of multi-class classification with monkeypox, measles, normal, HFMD, cowpox, and chickenpox classes, the proposed model archives an accuracy of 90.61% while precision, recall, and F1 scores are 91.39%, 89.17%, and 90.28%, respectively. Furthermore, the proposed approach shows average accuracy, precision, recall, and F1 scores of 97.54%, 96.19%, 95.16%, and 95.67%, respectively for five-fold cross-validation. The Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has brought a new era of innovation in transportation and mobility (T&M) in smart cities, made possible by the confluence of IoT and Machine Learning (ML) technology. The capabilities and applications of the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) have been greatly expanded by the increasing adoption of IoT, 5G connectivity, and autonomous vehicles. Modern machine learning (ML) approaches used in IoV service delivery are examined in this review paper, emphasizing how they might improve multimedia communication quality of experience (QoE) in vital industries like healthcare. ML-based service provisioning enhances the functionality and customer experience of the automotive sector by delivering tailored, efficient, and predictive services by analyzing data from connected automobiles.
