Spatio-temporal decision-making and trajectory planning framework with flexible constraints in closed-loop dynamic traffic

Driving in interactive dynamic traffic is a huge challenge for autonomous vehicles, especially for motion planning. The autonomous vehicle not only needs to predict the future states of the social vehicles to avoid a collision but also realizes the comfort and continuous plan. To deal with the problem, a spatio-temporal decision-making and motion planning framework with flexible constraints based on previous work is proposed. Improvements can be highlighted in three aspects. First, a neural network for trajectory prediction is trained and it is integrated into the framework, which can learn the social vehicles' reactions in the negotiation better and give more accurate predictions. Second, instead of setting the fixed local targets, the flexible-constraint mechanism is introduced to increase the success rate of continuous planning, specifically, the local planning target is determined conditioned on the situation with an elastic factor. Third, two popular simulators with randomly disposed traffic participants are exploited, where vehicles are mutually influenced, more similar to real-world traffic. The closed-loop tests with zero crashes and the comparative experiments with traditional models demonstrate the superior performance and practical significance of the proposed framework. © 2022 The Authors. Faithful geometric measures for genuine tripartite entanglement

We present a faithful geometric picture for genuine tripartite entanglement of discrete, continuous, and hybrid quantum systems. We first find that the triangle relation Ei|jkα≤Ej|ikα+Ek|ijα holds for all subadditive bipartite entanglement measure E, all permutations under parties i,j,k, all α∈[0,1], and all pure tripartite states. Then, we rigorously prove that the nonobtuse triangle area, enclosed by side Eα with 0<α≤1/2, is a measure for genuine tripartite entanglement. Finally, it is significantly strengthened for qubits that given a set of subadditive and nonsubadditive measures, some state is always found to violate the triangle relation for any α>1, and the triangle area is not a measure for any α>1/2. Our results pave the way to study discrete and continuous multipartite entanglement within a unified framework.

Compared to traditional electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT), the narrow-magnet EMAT extends its meander conductors to the edges and outside of the magnet, hence a wider area of the magnetic field can be used to excite stronger ultrasound waves. Because of the magnetic field inhomogeneity, the classical half-wavelength spacing rule is not suitable for the coil used in the narrow-magnet EMAT. Otherwise, obvious waveform distortions will appear. In this work, the coil conductor spacing correction methodology proposed in previous works is testified for Lamb wave excitations, and a simpler wavelength-based adjustment approach is proposed, where waveforms of low distortions can be obtained. Both approaches are evaluated in simulation and practical experiments, where the Lamb wave amplitude enhancement brought by the coil conductor spacing correction method is more than 157.41%, and the improvement achieved by the proposed wavelength adjustment concept is above 179.34%. © 2024 IEEE.

Abstract. The propagation attenuation law of elastic waves generated by rock mass fractures in strata is of great significance in explaining engineering problems, such as rock bursts. In this study, a wave velocity model was established based on the actual stratum conditions of the Jining No.2 coal mine in China. The propagation process of different types of elastic waves is simulated using the elastic wave equation and finite difference method. The attenuation coefficients of various elastic wave parameters propagating at different positions were calculated. Based on the calculated results, an attenuation equation for the elastic wave energy is proposed. The results show that the propagation of S-waves and P-waves in strata is similar to each other, and wave pattern transformation occurs at the interface of the strata. The magmatic rocks played a role in channeling and reflecting elastic wave propagation, leading to the occurrence of low-energy aftershocks in the coal seams. The peak displacement, peak stress, and energy density of the elastic wave that propagated to the coal seam after the siltstone layer fracture of the roof of the 3down coal seam decreased to 28%, 25%, and 9% of the source, respectively. The attenuation of elastic wave energy is highly correlated with the propagation distance, and the attenuation equation can be represented as an exponential function. These results are of great significance for revealing the propagation attenuation process of elastic waves in the stratum. © 2025 Techno-Press, Ltd.

The recommendation system based on knowledge graph assistance has more advantages than the traditional recommendation system, mainly reflected in: accurate, efficient and explainable. Most of the recommendation methods of existing studies use knowledge graph representation learning for information mining of entity features, but some of them ignore the neighborhood information of knowledge graph entities, resulting in the loss of high-order feature information. Considering the above problem, this study proposes a recommendation method based on graph neural network for the problem that the existing recommendation methods ignore the overall information in the process of knowledge graph entity information mining. The graph attention network is introduced to carry out neighborhood information aggregation to make up for the neighborhood information of missing entities in the process of extracting the features of the knowledge graph in existing research. In this study, the prediction experiments of click rate and top-k recommendation scenarios were carried out on the data under the four backgrounds of movies, books, online courses and music, and the influence of some key parameters and structures in the model on the model was analyzed, compared and discussed. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This paper presents a new method to achieve passive pulse compression using a lossless dielectric loaded waveguide (DLW). The method demonstrates an obvious performance in controlling the dispersion characteristics of the DLWs. Efficient pulse compression in a specific frequency range is achieved by varying the radius and thickness. In the simulation, the compression factor of 85.6 is obtained by compressing a linear frequency-modulated pulse with a duration of 20 ns and a frequency range of 34.8-39.8 GHz into a Gaussian-envelope pulse. © 2023 IEEE.

As a vital energy source, coal mines are essential to the energy industry. However, the process of fully mechanized coal mining is notoriously harsh, which poses significant challenges to efficient and safe operations. In this context, hydraulic support operators play a crucial role in ensuring the stability and safety of the working face, where potential safety issues from operator errors or external interferences necessitate the adoption of smart mining practices. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a framework for a distributed hydraulic support control system based on a multi-agent system (MAS). First, by constructing this distributed multi-agent system within fully mechanized mining, the interactive relationship among hydraulic supports has been systematically delineated. Second, game theory is employed to inform decision-making regarding hydraulic support behaviors, enhancing both the autonomy and cooperation of the supports. Finally, the proposed model is analyzed and validated by maximizing the utility function, aiming to improve the efficiency and intelligence of fully mechanized mining operations. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure safer and more efficient coal mining practices through advanced technology integration and strategic decision-making. © 2024 IEEE.

Modern surface mount circuit board assemblies require more advanced defect detection methods. While deep learning algorithms have great potential for PCBA inspection, their detection accuracy in complex background situations is still limited. To overcome this problem, we propose a deep learning-based PCBA detection model (PCB-Net) to achieve accurate classification and localization of components on PCB. Firstly, for similar objects under complex background interference, this paper proposes a backbone network consisting of a generalized efficient aggregation network and a context converter to effectively extract local and global information. This integration aims to enhance the expressiveness of the network. Secondly, a multi-scale attention mechanism is designed to improve the feature extraction ability of the network on the target and suppress the interference of complex backgrounds. Finally, a C2fHB lightweight module was designed to improve the model's extraction of component features using the HorNet structure. Experimental results show that our proposed model is an effective PCBA detection method, as it can accurately detect tiny components in complex backgrounds, efficiently obtain component class and location information, and remain detection efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.

The systolic array (SA) architecture is widely used in accelerator/AI chip design due to its excellent matrix multiplication acceleration effect. However, the mismatch between the traditional sparse matrix compression format and the SA architecture results in poor SA performance in computing sparse matrices. To solve the problem, we propose a method for co-designing the sparse compression format and SA architecture. This work proposes the Vector Group Compressed Coordinate (VGCC) data stream compression format and designs a sparse SA architecture based on hardware encoding and decoding. VGCC can handle data streams of any size without increasing the index bit width. The VGCC compression size is significantly smaller than general sparse compression formats such as COO/CSR. In a sparse matrix with a sparsity of 90%, it saves 67.13% of storage space compared to the state-of-the-art ECOO data stream compression format and achieves an average acceleration of 1.54 times. We also propose a VGCC-friendly SA architecture. Our SA architecture engine reduces logic consumption by 51.6% compared to Sparse TPU while achieving a 3.23x speedup. To mitigate the issue of high no-load rates in systolic arrays, we introduce a Data Transmission Priority (DTP) data matching algorithm. With sparsity levels ranging from 50% to 90%, the algorithm’s calculation speed is enhanced by 1.124x to 1.991x. We implemented a sparse DNN accelerator on an FPGA Zynq UltraScale+MPSoC ZCU102, utilizing the VGCC compression format proposed in this study for compressing input data. When compared to the S2 Engine, the accelerator achieved a 3.37x speed improvement in matrix multiplication with 75% sparsity, significantly enhancing the speed of sparse matrix multiplication. To meet the growing demands in the electronics manufacturing industry for smaller, more reliable, and flexible component packages, this research introduces a novel algorithm designed to automatically measure the geometric parameters of lead components. The algorithm can address the challenges associated with measuring these parameters in surface mount technology (SMT), overcoming the inefficiencies and inaccuracies of traditional manual measurement methods. This innovative approach combines an adaptive threshold segmentation algorithm with a multilevel grayscale range, enabling robust binary segmentation that adapts to variations in illumination. Additionally, by employing conditional filtering and state tracking, the algorithm facilitates the extraction of lead groups and individual leads, allowing for precise evaluation of component parameters through sub-pixel interpolated fitting. Extensive testing under various illumination conditions across multiple types of packaged and standard components has confirmed the algorithm's high accuracy and robustness. These results highlight its efficacy as a measurement solution suitable for industrial-grade applications. © 2024 IEEE.
