Coalitional game based resource allocation in D2D-enabled V2V communication

The joint resource block(RB)allocation and power optimization problem is studied to maximize the sum-rate of the vehicle-to-vehicle(V2V)links in the device-to-device(D2D)-enabled V2V communication system,where one feasible cellular user(FCU)can share its RB with multiple V2V *** problem is first formulated as a nonconvex mixed-integer nonlinear programming(MINLP)problem with constraint of the maximum interference power in the FCU *** the game theory,two coalition formation algorithms are proposed to accomplish V2V link partitioning and FCU selection,where the transferable utility functions are introduced to minimize the interference among the V2V links and the FCU links for the optimal RB *** successive convex approximation(SCA)is used to transform the original problem into a convex one and the Lagrangian dual method is further applied to obtain the optimal transmit power of the V2V ***,numerical results demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed resource allocation algorithm in terms of the system sum-rate.

Among the plethora of IoT(Internet of Things)applications,the smart home is one of the ***,the rapid development of the smart home has also made smart home systems a target for ***,researchers have made many efforts to investigate and enhance the security of smart home *** a more secure smart home ecosystem,we present a detailed literature review on the security of smart home ***,we categorize smart home systems’security issues into the platform,device,and communication *** exploring the research and specific issues in each of these security areas,we summarize the root causes of the security flaws in today's smart home systems,which include the heterogeneity of internal components of the systems,vendors'customization,the lack of clear responsibility boundaries and the absence of standard security ***,to better understand the security of smart home systems and potentially provide better protection for smart home systems,we propose research directions,including automated vulnerability mining,vigorous security checking,and data-driven security analysis.

Clock Bias Gross Error Detection Method Based on WS-MAD

Abstract: This paper proposes a clock bias gross error detection method, which combines weighted support vector data description (SVDD) with modified median absolute deviation (MAD) to address the limitations of the traditional MAD method. The method uses the local reachable density as the weighting factor of SVDD, which fully considers the local characteristics of each data. By constructing the minimum hypersphere in the high-dimensional feature space, the one-dimensional data are transformed into the distance from the vector point to the center of the hypersphere in the high-dimensional space. This transformation increases the discrepancy between normal data and gross errors. The modified MAD method probes the distance from the current epoch vector point to the center of the hypersphere for gross errors, and thus determines whether the current clock bias is a gross error. The precision clock bias data of BDS-3 with different sampling intervals provided by GFZ were used for simulation experiments. By comparing the results of the MAD method and the WS-MAD method, it is found that the WS-MAD method can detect the small gross errors in the smooth clock bias frequency data and more gross errors in the clock bias data with trend term floating. The fitting and prediction analyses on satellites with different orbits and clock types show that the WS-MAD method improves the fitting and prediction accuracy of MEO and IGSO satellites better than that of GEO satellites. For the same MEO satellites, the enhancement effect of hydrogen clocks is better than that of rubidium clocks. © Pleiades Publishing, Ltd. 2024.

A systematic Literature Review on the Security Attacks and Countermeasures Used in Graphical Passwords

This systematic literature review delves into the dynamic realm of graphical passwords, focusing on the myriad security attacks they face and the diverse countermeasures devised to mitigate these threats. The core objective of this paper is to identify existing security threats to graphical password schemes and the corresponding countermeasures developed to mitigate these attacks. The study process begins by identifying the usable databases and search engines to identify all the relevant resources. The inclusion and exclusion criteria were carefully selected to prioritize the study, focusing mostly on attacks and countermeasures related to graphical password schemes between 2009 and 2023. After thorough identification and selection progress, 59 studies met all the criteria. Among these studies, 47 mentioned shoulder surfing as a threat to graphical password schemes, while 20 discussed brute force attacks. Additionally, there were 21 papers on dictionary attacks, 13 on smudge attacks, spyware attacks, and social engineering, and 19 that discussed guessing attacks as threats to graphical password schemes. Furthermore, the papers identified several other attacks, including frequency of occurrence analysis attacks, video recording, eavesdropping, computer vision, sonar, and image gallery attacks, with the corresponding numbers of papers being 9, 17, 5, 2, 2, and 1, respectively. The results also highlight the countermeasures proposed in the study papers to mitigate the aforementioned attacks. Among the various countermeasures identified, most revolve around randomization, obfuscation, and password space complexity as the most commonly used techniques for enhancing the security of graphical password schemes. © 2013 IEEE.

Advancing Bankruptcy Forecasting With Hybrid Machine Learning Techniques: Insights From an Unbalanced Polish Dataset

The challenge of bankruptcy prediction, critical for averting financial sector losses, is amplified by the prevalence of imbalanced datasets, which often skew prediction models. Addressing this, our study introduces the innovative hybrid model XGBoost+ANN, designed to leverage the strengths of both ensemble learning and artificial neural networks. This model integrates a comprehensive set of features with parameters optimized through genetic algorithms, eschewing traditional feature selection approaches. Our research focuses on an unbalanced dataset of Polish companies and reveals that the XGBoost+ANN model, in particular, exhibits outstanding performance. Optimized using genetic algorithms and without feature selection, this model achieved the highest AUC (0.958), sensitivity (0.752), and accuracy (0.983) scores, surpassing other models in our study. This remarkable outperformance, along with the robust results, marks a substantial advancement in the field of bankruptcy prediction. It underscores the efficacy of our approach in addressing the persistent challenge of data imbalance, offering a more reliable and accurate solution for financial risk assessment. © 2013 IEEE.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV)-powered 5G/6G networks integrated with rechargeable wireless sensor networks (RWSNs) offer promising solutions for extending system lifetime, collecting data, and providing computing services and power to sensor nodes (SNs). UAVs offer significant advantages, including exceptional mobility, cost-effective deployment, and the ability to be easily reprogrammed for a wide range of missions. However, the limited onboard power capacity of UAVs, coupled with the lack of dynamic and intelligent charging station (CS) management and inefficient path planning, can lead to SN failure in dynamic mobile environments. To address these challenges, we propose an energy-efficient laser-charged UAV (LCU)-enabled RWSN environment, wherein UAVs, powered by laser beams from ground-based stations, provide services, collect data, and transfer energy to SNs. We formulate a joint optimization problem involving power allocation, dynamic charging strategy (DCS), and path planning to minimize task completion time and sensor node death time. Given the NP-hard nature of the problem, we employ a stochastic game model based on a Markov decision process (MDP) for its solution. To solve this problem, we propose a deep reinforcement learning (DRL) based algorithm that enables real-time charging scheduling decisions while optimizing network performance. We introduce a multi-agent double deep Q-network (MA-DDQN) model to determine the optimal trajectories for all UAVs in large and complex environments. Simulation results demonstrate that the MA-DDQN approach outperforms state-of-the-art techniques, showing significant improvements in terms of average delay, energy consumption, and task completion time. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The key-value separation is renowned for its significant mitigation of the write amplification inherent in traditional LSM trees. However, KV separation potentially increases performance overhead in the management of Value region, especially for garbage collection (GC) operation that is used to reduce the redundant space occupation. In response, many efforts have been made to optimize the GC mechanism for KV separation. However, our analysis indicates that such solution based on trade-offs between CPU and I/O overheads cannot simultaneously satisfy the three requirements of KV separated systems in terms of throughput, tail latency, and space usage. This limitation hinders their real-world application. In this paper, we introduce AegonKV, a "three-birds-one-stone" solution that comprehensively enhances the throughput, tail latency, and space usage of KV separated systems. AegonKV first proposes a SmartSSD-based GC offloading mechanism to enable asynchronous GC operations without competing with LSM read/write for bandwidth or CPU. AegonKV leverages offload-friendly data structures and hardware/software execution logic to address the challenges of GC offloading. Experiments demonstrate that AegonKV achieves the largest throughput improvement of 1.28-3.3 times, a significant reduction of 37%-66% in tail latency, and 15%-85% in space overhead compared to existing KV separated systems. © 2025 FAST. To reduce phase errors caused by nonlinear responses in the measurement system, we propose a non-calibration correction method for nonlinear errors in phase-shifting patterns. First, the captured grating fringes are transformed using a Fourier transform to convert the images from the gray scale to the frequency domain. The first harmonic frequency is then determined using an appropriate method. Second, the appropriate filter cutoff frequency is calculated by combining the phase-shift algorithm's sensitivity to different harmonics with frequency response curves. Low-pass filtering is then performed on the phase-shift patterns to suppress high frequencies caused by nonlinear responses, thus reducing phase errors in the actual measurement process. Finally, the standard plane and other irregularly shaped objects were reconstructed using the proposed method and other techniques. Measurement errors under different conditions were then compared. Experimental results show that the proposed method significantly suppresses gamma nonlinear responses and achieves high measurement accuracy and efficiency. © 2024 IEEE.
