Optimizing non-coalesced memory access for irregular applications with GPU computing

For massive multiple-input multiple-output systems in the frequency division duplex (FDD) mode, accurate downlink channel state information (CSI) is required at the base station (BS). However, the increasing number of transmit antennas aggravates the feedback overhead of CSI. Recently, deep learning (DL) has shown considerable potential to reduce CSI feedback overhead. In this paper, we propose a Swin Transformer-based autoencoder network called SwinCFNet for the CSI feedback task. In particular, the proposed method can effectively capture the long-range dependence information of CSI. Moreover, we explore the impact of the number of Swin Transformer blocks and the dimension of feature channels on the performance of SwinCFNet. Experimental results show that SwinCFNet significantly outperforms other DL-based methods with comparable model sizes, especially for the outdoor scenario. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Many companies have opted for the implementation of information and communication technologies (ICT) in their business processes, in order to achieve their corporate goals and obtain excellent results, but this has not always been achieved. The objective of this study was to present the prototype of a model that can align corporate strategies with ICT, in an Ecuadorian company. The quantitative approach was applied and the deductive method and exploration were used to analyze the information of articles and scientific. The result was a model that aligns ICT with corporate strategies in which a table was included with indicators of alignment between ICT and business strategy classified according to the strategic leadership style of the company for decision making, it was applied under the framework of Miles and Snow, in addition to the evaluation of the strategies, was effective using the Saaty scale and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method applied for making objective decisions. It was concluded that the strategic alignment was achieved when the Scope of the Planning with the ICT Scope, under the Miles and Snow framework, the Analytical Hierarchy Process method was also applied, where a value of 0.08 for CR was obtained, which indicates that it is within the acceptable and consistent, transmission of cost reduction, standardization of processes, improvement in work flow and communications. © 2020 IEEE.

The investigation of asymmetric central core linked perylene diimide (PDI) dimeric acceptors was still insufficient. For this end, the conjugation extended core 6-(thieno[3,2-b]- thiophene-2-yl)benzo[b]thiophene (TT-BTh) was synthesized, and two asymmetric PDI dimers, namely, T-BTh-(PDI-HD)2 and TT-BTh-(PDI-HD)2, with 6-(thien-2-yl)benzo[b]thiophene (T-BTh) and TT-BTh as central linkages and two imide-position 2-hexyldecyl substituted PDI-HD units as double flanks, were developed to search into the role of different conjugation length. When the central asymmetric linker was extended from T-BTh to TT-BTh, the decreased thermo-stability, the weaken absorption, the enhanced film state molecular stacking, the better solution state photo-stability, a slightly deepened ELUMO and significantly decreased dihedral angle from 87.70° to 27.05° between two PDI-HD sub-planes were observed. Consequently, extending the conjugation length from T-BTh to TT-BTh suffered from a 0.03 V reduced VOC from 0.81 V to 0.78 V, a 26.59% reduced JSC from 7.56 mA cm‒2 to 5.55 mA cm‒2 but a 10.65% increased FF from 47.33% to 52.37%, resulting in the 21.53% decreased PCE from 2.88% to 2.26%. The decrease was mainly due to the slightly deepened ELUMO, the weakened absorption, the decreased electron mobility originating from the deteriorated miscibility and coarser surface morphology. Interestingly enough, the asymmetric T-BTh-(PDI-HD)2 afforded the 0.02⁓0.03 V increased VOC, 2.07%⁓10.58% elevated FF and thus 11.63%⁓58.24% elevated PCE in comparison with symmetric core analogues T-(PDI-HD)2 and 2T-(PDI-HD)2. This finding indicated that constructing asymmetric T-BTh linking core was an efficient method for adjusting the molecular geometry, optoelectronic property and thus improving the photovoltaic efficiency, however it should be cautious to further prolong the conjugation length of the central linker during these asymmetric PDI dimeric acceptors. © 2025, The Authors. In this paper, we will propose a super wide bandwidth low frequency antenna with a compact size for HF, VHF and UHF applications. The developed low frequency antenna consists of coplanar guide feeding structure, sleeve-like structure with lumped elements, reactance loading in the feeding. The antenna is investigated and evaluated in the HFSS, and the simulation results shows that the proposed antenna has a very wide fractional bandwidth of 191.9% from 10 MHz to 481 MHz for supporting the HF, VHF, UHF and P-band detection system applications in various platform like aircraft, ship and vehicles. © 2020 IEEE.

Deployment of polar codes for mission-critical machine-type communication over wireless networks

Mission critical Machine-type Communication (mcMTC), also referred to as Ultra-reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC), has become a research hotspot. It is primarily characterized by communication that provides ultra-high reliability and very low latency to concurrently transmit short commands to a massive number of connected devices. While the reduction in physical (PHY) layer overhead and improvement in channel coding techniques are pivotal in reducing latency and improving reliability, the current wireless standards dedicated to support mcMTC rely heavily on adopting the bottom layers of general-purpose wireless standards and customizing only the upper layers. The mcMTC has a significant technical impact on the design of all layers of the communication protocol stack. In this paper, an innovative bottom-up approach has been proposed for mcMTC applications through PHY layer targeted at improving the transmission reliability by implementing ultra-reliable channel coding scheme in the PHY layer of IEEE 802.11a standard bearing in mind short packet transmission system. To achieve this aim, we analyzed and compared the channel coding performance of convolutional codes (CCs), low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, and polar codes in wireless network on the condition of short data packet transmission. The Viterbi decoding algorithm (VA), logarithmic belief propagation (Log-BP) algorithm, and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) successive cancellation list (SCL) (CRC-SCL) decoding algorithm were adopted to CC, LDPC codes, and polar codes, respectively. Consequently, a new PHY layer for mcMTC has been proposed. The reliability of the proposed approach has been validated by simulation in terms of Bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) ***-to-noise ratio (SNR). The computer vision techniques have been widely used in the robotic manipulation for perception and positioning. However, duo to the inaccuracy of camera calibration and measurement, there is a greatly need for more accurate method to estimate the object pose especially for robotic precise manipulation. In this paper, we propose a novel pose estimation method of object in robotic manipulation using a vision-based tactile sensor. The structure of the tactile sensor and the proposed model are introduced in detail, and verification experiments have been performed. This paper presented a p-norm constraint Lorentzian adaptive algorithm to estimate the sparse multi-path channel ina-stable noise environment. We derived the proposed algorithm based on the Lagrange multiplier method and we also evaluated the performance of the developed adaptive algorithm via estimating a sparse multi-path channel. The gotten results on the basis of computer simulations proved that the developed Lorentzian adaptive algorithm is superior to the popular method in the comparisons. © 2020 IEEE.

The integration of Tiny Machine Learning (TinyML) with Human Behavior Analysis (HBA) represents a significant advancement in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), enabling real-time, efficient, and privacy-preserving analysis on resource-constrained devices. This paper provides the first comprehensive survey exploring this integration, presenting a detailed overview of TinyML, including its definitions, key concepts and advantages. The survey proposes a systematic taxonomy of TinyML applications in HBA, categorizing state-of-the-art implementations based on their use cases and specific methodologies. Furthermore, the challenges and limitations of integrating TinyML in HBA are thoroughly discussed, including technical constraints, data quality issues, and ethical considerations. Finally, future research directions and open issues are outlined, emphasizing the potential advancements and emerging trends in this field. This survey serves as a foundational resource, guiding researchers and practitioners in harnessing the capabilities of TinyML to advance HBA. © 2014 IEEE.

Coordinate Attention Guided Dual-Teacher Adaptive Knowledge Distillation for Image Classification

Knowledge distillation (KD) refers to transferring the knowledge learned from a teacher network with complex architecture and strong learning ability to another student network with light-weight and weak learning ability through a specific distillation strategy. However, most existing KD approaches to image classification often employ a single teacher network to guide the training of the student network. When the teacher network makes an erroneous prediction, the transferred knowledge will deteriorate the performance of the student network. To address or mitigate the above issue, we develop a novel KD approach called Coordinate Attention Guided Dual-Teacher Adaptive Knowledge Distillation (CAG-DAKD), to deliver more discriminative and comprehensive knowledge obtained from two teacher networks to a compact student network. Specifically, we integrate the positive prediction distribution of two teacher networks according to whether the two teacher networks predict correctly and the magnitude of the cross-entropy to deliver better output distribution to guide the student network. Furthermore, to distill the most valuable knowledge from the first teacher network that has a similar architecture to the student network, a coordinate attention mechanism is introduced into different layers of the first teacher network so that the student network can effectively learn more discriminative feature representations. We conduct extensive experiments on three standard image classification datasets: CIFAR10, CIFAR100, and ImageNet to verify the superiority of the proposed method over other state-of-the-art competitors. © 2023, The Authors.
