Perceptual video super-resolution aims at converting low-resolution videos to visually appealing high-resolution ones. It may lead to temporal inconsistency due to the drastically changing outputs. In this paper, we propose cascaded sliding-window-based relativistic GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) fusion for perceptual and consistent video super-resolution (PC-VSR). Firstly, cascaded sliding-window-based relativistic GAN is designed to extract more useful information. It enlarges the temporal receptive field of sliding-window-based model in each step. It is able to enhance perceptual quality and compensate temporal consistency progressively and sufficiently. The trained separate refinement generator networks are fused into a final refinement generator. The final refinement generator can be calculated recursively at the testing stage. With our generator fusion, the parameter number is reduced and good quality is maintained. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that our approach outperforms state-of-the-art super-resolution methods in terms of perceptual quality. Our method also achieves good temporal consistency and per-pixel accuracy, compared with other perceptual approaches. © IFIP International Federation for information Processing 2025.

systematic encoding is crucial in some decoding algorithms of algebraic-geometric (AG) codes. In the context of soft decoding that requires systematic encoding, the information set changes dynamically for each decoding event, presenting a challenge for systematic encoding of AG codes. This paper addresses this challenge for elliptic codes by proposing a fast construction algorithm for both the systematic encoding polynomial (SEP) and the systematic generator matrix (SGM) based on Gröbner bases of modules and backward interpolation. The proposed algorithm has a complexity of O(k2) and O(kn) for constructing the SEP and SGM, respectively, where k and n denote the dimension and length of the elliptic code. Additionally, its computation can be highly parallelized, enhancing its implementation efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

First wetland mapping at 10-m spatial resolution in South America using multi-source and multi-feature remote sensing data

Wetland degradation has been accelerating in recent years globally. Accurate information on the geographic distribution and categories of wetlands is essential for their conservation and management. Despite being the world′s fourth largest continent, South America has limited research on wetland mapping, and there is currently no available map that provides comprehensive information on wetland distribution and categories in the region. To address this issue, we used Sentinel-1, Sentinel-2 and SRTM data, developed a sample collection method and a wetland mapping method with a collection of multi-source features such as optical features, polarization features and shape features for South American wetlands. We produced a 10-m resolution wetland map based on the Google Earth Engine(GEE) platform. Our Level-1 wetland cover map accurately captured six wetland sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 96.24% and a kappa coefficient of 0.8649, while our Level-2 water cover map included five sub-categories with an overall accuracy of 97.23% and a kappa coefficient of0.9368. The results show that the total area of existing wetlands in South America is approximately 1,737,000 km~2, which is6.8% of the total land area. Among the ten wetland categories, shallow sea had the largest area(960,527.4 km~2), while aquaculture ponds had the smallest area 1513.6 km~2. Swamp had the second largest area(306,240.1 km~2). Brazil, Argentina,Venezuela, Bolivia, and Colombia were found to have the largest wetland areas, with Brazil and Colombia having the most diverse wetland categories. This product can serve as baseline data for subsequent monitoring, management, and conservation of South American wetlands.

As the deadliest form of pollution, air pollution had a prolonged severe damage to the human health and life safety of nearly 99% of the world's population. Facing to the problem that billions of tons of pollutants discharged into the air per year by industrial activities, this paper proposed a novel image-based air pollution monitor (IAPM) by incorporating local and global information in the self-adaptive multiscale transform domain, so as to achieve the timely and effective leakage detection of typical air pollutants from a single image. To be specific, this paper first developed a screen-shaped module according to two significant findings in visual neuroscience, which include the high sensitivity of human eyes to horizontal and vertical stimuli and the center-surround inhibition, by designing and fusing the square module, horizontal strip module and vertical strip module parallelly for simulating the behaviour of human eyes to extract local features. Second, the learnable weights and proportional mapping were applied to incorporate the screen-shaped module and lightweight vision transformer as backbone, towards more richly exploiting and fusing local and global information just as the way a brain perceives external stimuli. Third, a new self-adaptive multiscale transform domain method was devised based on two motivations from the visual characteristics of multiscale perception and the brain characteristics of self-adaptive domain transform to modify the backbone by using the operations of pooling and pointwise convolution. Extensive experiments implemented on the datasets of carbon particulate matters and ethylene leakage confirmed the superior monitoring performance of the proposed IAPM model beyond the state-of-the-art (SOTA) peers by an accuracy gain of about 4%. Furthermore, the proposed IAPM model only required 0.089 GFLOPs and 0.15 million model parameters, remarkably outperforming SOTA competitors in computational efficiency and storage resources. © 1999-2

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) images that characterize the complete scattering characteristics of enemy aircraft are difficult to be obtained due to the attitude sensitivity of aircraft targets. An interpolation method based on the principal component analysis (PCA) is proposed to achieve the interpolation of ISAR images in this paper. First, an ISAR image pre-processing method is proposed to reduce the effect of ISAR image rotation characteristics. Then, the principle of PCA is analyzed and a 'pairwise' principle is proposed based on the analysis of the image features corresponding to the eigenvalues of ISAR images to inverse ISAR images. Finally, a spherical manifold that characterizes ISAR images with different attitudes is established, while interpolation of ISAR images is achieved by interpolation of geodesic lines on the spherical manifold. Furthermore, compared with the image pixel point interpolation, the deep learning method, and the proposed method in this paper, simulation results indicate that the proposed method is promising. © 2023 IEEE.

In this note, we present the synthesis of secure-by-construction controllers that address safety and security properties simultaneously in cyber-physical systems. Our focus is on studying a specific security property called opacity, which characterizes the system's ability to maintain plausible deniability of its secret behavior in the presence of an intruder. These controllers are synthesized based on a concept of so-called (augmented) control barrier functions. We propose conditions that facilitate the construction of the desired (augmented) control barrier functions and their corresponding secure-by-construction controllers. To compute these functions, we propose an iterative scheme that leverages iterative sum-of-square programming techniques. This approach enables efficient computation of these functions, particularly for polynomial systems. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of our results through a case study of a vehicle. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Infrasound detection is important in natural disasters monitoring,military defense,underwater acoustic detection,and other ***-optic Fabry–Perot(FP)acoustic sensors have the advantages of small structure size,long-distance detection,immunity to electromagnetic interference,and so *** size of an FP sensor depends on the transducer diaphragm size and the back cavity ***,a small transducer diaphragm size means a low ***,a small back cavity volume will increase the low cut-off frequency of the ***,it is difficult for fiber-optic FP infrasound sensors to simultaneously achieve miniaturization,high sensitivity,and extremely low detectable *** this work,we proposed and demonstrated a miniaturized and highly sensitive fiber-optic FP sensor for m Hz infrasound detection by exploiting a Cr-Ag-Au composite acoustic-optic transducer diaphragm and a MEMS technique-based spiral micro-flow *** use of the spiral micro-flow hole as the connecting hole greatly reduced the volume of the sensor and decreased the low-frequency limit,while the back cavity volume was not *** with the Cr-Ag-Au composite diaphragm,a detection sensitivity of-123.19 dB re 1 rad∕μPa at 5 Hz and a minimum detectable pressure(MDP)of1.2 mPa∕Hz^(1∕2)at 5 Hz were *** low detectable frequency can reach 0.01 Hz and the flat response range was 0.01–2500 Hz with a sensitivity fluctuation of±1.5 d ***,the size of the designed sensor was only 12 mm×Φ12.7 *** excellent characteristics make the sensor have great practical application prospects.

In terms of security and privacy,mobile ad-hoc network(MANET)continues to be in demand for additional debate and *** more MANET applications become data-oriented,implementing a secure and reliable data transfer protocol becomes a major concern in the ***,MANET’s lack of infrastructure,unpredictable topology,and restricted resources,as well as the lack of a previously permitted trust relationship among connected nodes,contribute to the attack detection burden.A novel detection approach is presented in this paper to classify passive and active black-hole *** proposed approach is based on the dipper throated optimization(DTO)algorithm,which presents a plausible path out of multiple paths for statistics transmission to boost MANETs’quality of service.A group of selected packet features will then be weighed by the DTO-based multi-layer perceptron(DTO-MLP),and these features are collected from nodes using the Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchical(LEACH)clustering *** is a powerful classifier and the DTO weight optimization method has a significant impact on improving the classification process by strengthening the weights of key features while suppressing the weights ofminor *** hybridmethod is primarily designed to combat active black-hole *** the LEACH clustering phase,however,can also detect passive black-hole *** effect of mobility variation on detection error and routing overhead is explored and evaluated using the suggested *** diverse mobility situations,the results demonstrate up to 97%detection accuracy and faster execution ***,the suggested approach uses an adjustable threshold value to make a correct conclusion regarding whether a node is malicious or benign.
