Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is an efficient nature-inspired optimization algorithm, which has been widely applied in many engineering fields. The performance of particle swarm optimization (PSO) has been significantly influenced by velocity update strategy. Traditionally, each particle updates its velocity based on its historical best experience and the global best experience, which may make the swarm lose its diversity and lead to premature convergence. To strengthen the performance of PSO, this paper proposes an improved PSO with the velocity-driven strategy (VD-PSO). In VD-PSO algorithm, the particles whose velocities are driven by better velocities focus on exploitation. The historical velocities, such as better velocities, may effectively characterize the landscape information of the optimization problems. In addition, the particles focus on exploration through information exchange amongst velocities. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, experiments are conducted with CEC2014 test problems. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm for solving the global optimization problems. © 2019 Association for Computing Machinery.

A Novel 3D Video Fingerprinting Algorithm Based on Local Feature Points

Digital rights management of the 3 D contents is a crucial open issue in the 3 D video industry. A novel robust fingerprinting algorithm is proposed for protecting the copyright of the 3 D video. Unlike the existing algorithms extracting visual features separately from the 2 D videos and the depth maps, in our algorithm a novel local stereo space is constructed according to the depth information of the pixels around the extracted local feature points in the 2 D videos, and the 3 D videos are processed in a holistic manner. In the proposed space,the 3 D-transform-feature is extracted and aggregated into a feature matrix, and then the compact 3 D video fingerprints are obtained from the eigenspace of the matrix. Our comprehensive experiments are conducted on a 3 D video database, and the results have demonstrated the robustness and discrimination of the proposed algorithm. Moreover, our fingerprints cost less storage spaces than the existing approaches.

With the development of Software-Defined Networking (SDN), privacy and security issues have become an urgent problem to be solved. Although there are many ways to solve these problems, the existing technology represented by encryption cannot effectively deal with traffic analysis attacks, and there are also key management problems. For this reason, we propose a privacy protection method for SDN data transmission based on multipath, including path searching procedure for searching for all paths between the sender and the receiver, and path filtering procedure for filtering out paths to reduce path correlation, and path selection procedure for randomly selecting one path to disturbed the traffic similarity between multiple transmission. The experiment results show that our method is more effective, less similarity of traffic compared with Multipath-Floyd method and single-path method, respectively. New energy storage vehicles which use supercapacitors (SCs) as the unique source of traction power are developing rapidly recently. To satisfy the operating voltage requirement of energy storage vehicle, hundreds of SCs are needed to be connected in series. In this case, there is a voltage imbalance between the energy storage cells during rapid charging, resulting in reduced energy efficiency and service life of the energy storage device. A layered equalisation scheme is proposed to solve the problem of voltage imbalance. A single-input multiple-output synchronous rectification equalising circuit is proposed to ensure voltage consistency of series supercapacitor monomer in bottom module. The proposed circuit resolves the existing slow balancing speed and low-voltage balancing precision problems in the current supercapacitor equalising circuits. Meanwhile, an equalisation strategy based on module SOC is adopted to solve voltage imbalance problem of the upper supercapacitor module. The results of MATLAB/Saber co-simulation and experiment demonstrate that the layered equalisation system achieves the target of fast equilibrium and high precision balance. © 2019 Institution of Engineering and *** right reserved.

Gas sensor often fails due to the influence of temperature, humidity, lighting, dust and toxic gases, and causes unreliable phenomena. Therefore, the fault diagnosis of gas sensors is considered as a weak link. Feature extraction and classification play an important role in gas sensor fault diagnosis. However, there are many problems in traditional feature extraction methods. For example, 1) requirements for expert experience, 2) sensitivity of changes in mechanical systems, 3) limitations of new feature extraction. Therefore, it is meaningful and attractive to develop a method that can discover and learn fault-sensitive features of gas sensors from the original data and classify them effectively according to the sensitive features. Convolutional neural network(CNN) has been widely applied in image analysis and voice recording, and has achieved great success. However, gas sensor fault diagnosis is rarely applied. This paper focuses on using CNN to learn fault features from data, extract features automatically, and then classify them effectively. Experiments show that the CNN method provides a effective solution for gas sensor fault diagnosis.

National greenhouse gas（GHG） budget,including CO2,CH4and N2O has increasingly become a topic of concern in international climate *** is paying increasing attention to reducing GHG emissions and increasing land sinks to effectively mitigate climate *** estimates of GHG fluxes are crucial for monitoring progress toward mitigating GHG emissions in *** study used comprehensive methods,including emission factor methods,process-based models,atmospheric inversions,and data-driven models,to estimate the long-term trends of GHG sources and sinks from all anthropogenic and natural sectors in China's mainland during 2000-2023,and produced an up-to-date China GHG Budget dataset（CNGHG）.The total gross emissions of the three GHGs show a 3-fold increase from 5.0（95% CI:4.9-5.1） Gt CO2-eq yr-1（in 2000） to 14.3（95% CI:13.8-14.8） Gt CO2-eqyr-1（in2023）.CO2emissions represented 81.8% of the GHG emissions in 2023,while 12.7% and 5.5% were for CH4and N2O,*** the largest CO2source,the energy sector contributed 87.4% *** contrast,the agriculture,forestry and other land use sector was the largest sector of CH4and N2O,representing 50.1% and 6 6.3% emissions,***,China's terrestrial ecosystems serve as a net CO2sink(1.0 Gt CO2yr-1,9596 CI:0.2-1.9 Gt CO2yr-1) during 2012 to 2021,equivalent to an average of 14.3% of fossil *** GHG emission estimates showed a general consistency with national GHG inventories,with gridded and sector-specific estimates of GHG fluxes over China,providing the basis for curtailing GHG emissions for each region and sector.

This study proposes an analytical method for calibrating and orienting online photogrammetric systems using a scale bar. The primary idea is building control lengths in the measurement volume by moving and rotating the scale bar and then conducting a self-calibration bundle adjustment using images of the control lengths. In this study, the five-point relative orientation method is used to provide estimations of the exterior camera parameters. Additionally, this study elaborates the model of the lengths constrained self-calibration bundle adjustment, the block computation algorithm and the accuracy assessment. This method obtains both the interior and the exterior orientation parameters of the two cameras, and provides spatial bar length reconstruction precision as the performance evaluation. Simulations are conducted to analyze the calibration accuracy and the results show that the method achieves comparable accuracy and precision against the state-of-the-art method. However, the method does not need steady and well distributed 3D points and is easy to operate. Real data experimental results show that the maximum length measurement error of this method in a volume of 5 m × 4 m × 2 m is © 2019 Institution of Engineering and technology. All rights reserved.

Performance analysis of intelligent reflecting surface assisted NOMA networks

Intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) is a promising technology to enhance the coverage and performance of wireless networks. We consider the application of IRS to non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA), where a base station transmits superposed signals to multiple users by the virtue of an IRS. The performance of an IRS-assisted NOMA networks with imperfect successive interference cancellation (ipSIC) and perfect successive interference cancellation (pSIC) is investigated by invoking 1-bit coding scheme. In particular, we derive new exact and asymptotic expressions for both outage probability and ergodic rate of the mth user with ipSIC/pSIC. Based on analytical results, the diversity order of the m-th user with pSIC is in connection with the number of reflecting elements and channel ordering. The high signal-to-noise radio (SNR) slope of ergodic rate for the m-th user is obtained. The throughput and energy efficiency of nonorthogonal users for IRS-NOMA are discussed both in delaylimited and delay-tolerant transmission modes. Additionally, we derive new exact expressions of outage probability and ergodic rate for IRS-assisted orthogonal multiple access (IRS-OMA). Numerical results are presented to substantiate our analyses and demonstrate that: i) The outage behaviors of IRS-NOMA are superior to that of IRS-OMA and relaying schemes;ii) With increasing the number of reflecting elements, IRS-NOMA is capable of achieving enhanced outage performance;and iii) The M-th user has a larger ergodic rate compared to IRS-OMA and benchmarks. To improve the inefficiency of file access for massive small files in the distributed file system, prefetching the small files into the cache is the most conventional method to be adopted. As the number of cached files is proportional to time, there will be many redundant small files which occupy the cache space and haven’t been read for a long time, the hit ratio will be decreased in this situation. To solve this defect, we proposed an improved LRU-W algorithm based on the file read times and the time interval of file read and designed a L2 cache optimization mechanism which can search file in the linked list with higher priority firstly and remove the files with lighter weight factor from the linked list with lower priority dynamically. The experiments and its result show that when prefetching massive small files, the proposed method in this paper can increase the hit ratio of cached files and improve the overall performance of Ceph file system. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.
