This paper presents a new combination scheme for reducing the number of focal elements to manipulate in order to reduce the complexity of the combination process in the multiclass framework. The basic idea consists in using of p sources of information involved in the global scheme providing p kinds of complementary information to feed each set of p one class support vector machine classifiers independently of each other, which are designed for detecting the outliers of the same target class, then, the outputs issued from this set of classifiers are combined through the plausible and paradoxical reasoning theory for each target class. The main objective of this approach is to render calibrated outputs even when less complementary responses are encountered. An inspired version of Appriou's model for estimating the generalized basic belief assignments is presented in this paper. The proposed methodology allows decomposing a n-class problem into a series of n-combination, while providing n-calibrated outputs into the multi-class framework. The effectiveness of the proposed combination scheme with proportional conflict redistribution algorithm is validated on digit recognition application and is compared with existing statistical, learning, and evidence theory based combination algorithms.

We present an entanglement purification protocol (EPP) to reconstruct some maximally hybrid entangled states (HESs) from nonmaximally mixed HESs. We use simple linear optical elements such as a polarization beam splitter (PBS) and beam splitter (BS) to achieve this task. Meanwhile, it is shown that the parity-check gates acted by PBS and BS are enough to complete the task, and the controlled-not (cnot) gates or similar logic operations are not needed. Unlike the current EPPs, this protocol can purify not only the conventional bit-flip error and phase-flip error but also the dissipation error coming from the photon loss of the coherent state. It can also be extended to achieve the purification for multiphoton and multicoherent state HES. This protocol may be useful in current hybrid quantum repeaters.

We present a new way called Persona Analysis with Text Topic Modelling (PATTM), which tries to learn the role of personae according to the literal descriptions. It is similar to Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Author Topic (AT) model, with the attribute of allowing all text to join in the topic modelling process, even when there is no persona in the text. We experiment on the Libya Event data set which contains more than 4,000 texts collected from the Internet. The PATTM gives lower perplexity than LDA and AT model on the data set.

We propose a new semi-supervised learning technique, which is called Words labelled Semi-Supervised Latent Dirichlet Allocation (wssLDA) by labelling words for large text collections analysis. The model incorporates supervision with Latent Dirichlet Allocation by adjusting weights of topic words chosen by users. Most of nonuniform filter banks designed by existing methods are not linear phase. In order to solving the problem, a novel method for designing linear-phase nonuniform filter banks is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the filter banks structure with block decimation transformed to rational decimation, we get an interpolated filter banks structure which removes the mirror frequency brought from interpolation. The filter banks are obtained by cosine modulation in this paper, and the prototype filters are interpolated and filtered before modulation. To make sure the significant aliasing distortions are cancelled completely, all prototype filters are designed with consistent transition band performance, using the optimization algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the linear-phase nonuniform filter banks designed by the proposed method have small amplitude distortions and aliasing distortions.

A new method for numerical simulation and parameter identification of fractional order models is presented in this paper. A Digital Adjustable Fractional Integrator is proposed to improve the numerical simulation of fractional order systems. The main feature of this tool consists in: the important reduction of simulation run time, operate as a one-step forward predictor and, consequently, it can be used for real-time numerical simulation and identification of different fractional order systems using the same structure. The consistence, convergence and stability of the proposed method are proved. Finally, some numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approximation.

Information sensitivity analysis is proposed for neural signals from spiking motor neurons that operate on the process moving legs of locusts. Our work presents an investigation from mechanical excitation to electrical output signals from spiking motor neurons driven by random Gaussian excitatory movements to a proprioceptor at the knee joint. From informationtheorectic sensitivity analysis is proposed an estimation of the associations among inputs and output signals. The estimation is quantified via a decomposition of their conditional mutual information and the pairwise interaction of information. A complex network is designed for modeling the motor neuronal system. The network is based on statistical dependences of information sensitivity. We applied the sensitivity analysis in neuro motor of locust called FETi (Fast Extensor Tibia) neuron. The results and some conclusions are presented.
