Most of nonuniform filter banks designed by existing methods are not linear phase. In order to solving the problem, a novel method for designing linear-phase nonuniform filter banks is proposed in this paper. By analyzing the filter banks structure with block decimation transformed to rational decimation, we get an interpolated filter banks structure which removes the mirror frequency brought from interpolation. The filter banks are obtained by cosine modulation in this paper, and the prototype filters are interpolated and filtered before modulation. To make sure the significant aliasing distortions are cancelled completely, all prototype filters are designed with consistent transition band performance, using the optimization algorithm. Simulation results demonstrate that the linear-phase nonuniform filter banks designed by the proposed method have small amplitude distortions and aliasing distortions.

A new method for numerical simulation and parameter identification of fractional order models is presented in this paper. A Digital Adjustable Fractional Integrator is proposed to improve the numerical simulation of fractional order systems. The main feature of this tool consists in: the important reduction of simulation run time, operate as a one-step forward predictor and, consequently, it can be used for real-time numerical simulation and identification of different fractional order systems using the same structure. The consistence, convergence and stability of the proposed method are proved. Finally, some numerical results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approximation.

Information sensitivity analysis is proposed for neural signals from spiking motor neurons that operate on the process moving legs of locusts. Our work presents an investigation from mechanical excitation to electrical output signals from spiking motor neurons driven by random Gaussian excitatory movements to a proprioceptor at the knee joint. From informationtheorectic sensitivity analysis is proposed an estimation of the associations among inputs and output signals. The estimation is quantified via a decomposition of their conditional mutual information and the pairwise interaction of information. A complex network is designed for modeling the motor neuronal system. The network is based on statistical dependences of information sensitivity. We applied the sensitivity analysis in neuro motor of locust called FETi (Fast Extensor Tibia) neuron. The results and some conclusions are presented.

This paper deals with the description, mathematical modeling and recursive output feedback control of a pilot anaerobic plant. Based on experimental results obtained during the start-up and operating of a pilot bioreactor, a five-order continuous-time anaerobic digestion model is obtained. The output trajectory tracking and disturbance compensation for the bioprocess model are realized using a new composed recursive controller comprising a recursive model free stabilization term and a recursive time delay compensation term. The performances of the new bioprocess controller are compared by numerical simulation with the performances of an existing nonlinear proportional-integral controller.

In this paper, a multi-rate signalprocessing technique is proposed for obtaining higher-order derivatives of digital signals with an improved signal-to-quantization noise ratio (SQNR). The technique consists of a classical oversampling analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) unit with a dithering process and multi-stage down sampling processing followed by a high performance digital differentiator cascaded using a decimator with a factor of two. In the cascaded multi-stage processing, each stage contains a simple half-band low-pass filter followed with decimation by two. The proposed technique uses an extremely small FIR filter size, hence requires much less memory and computational complexity in comparison with single-stage processing. Computer simulations and experimental data processing demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
