Passive source location attracts a growing interest due to its usefulness in various applications such as wireless communications, microphone arrays, sensor networks and so on. This paper combines the time differences of arrival (TDOA) and gain ratios of arrival (GROA) techniques to present a novel dual-station source location method of a known altitude object in 3D space. The closed form solution and performance evaluation are also given in the following section. The final simulation shows that the proposed method is feasible when the constraint height error is small and can reach the CRLB. GDOP analysis shows that the error is large on the midperpendicular line of the two stations.

Frequency hopping signals have been widely used in military and civilian applications during the last few decades. It's of great value to locate emitters of frequency hopping signals, especially in military operations. Localization by time difference of arrival (TDOA) is a passive location method of good accuracy which utilizes the differences between the arrival times of signals received by multiple receivers at different sites. Many researchers have been published on TDOA estimation algorithms for signals in passive location systems, but there have been few results in the literature about the TDOA estimation accuracy of frequency hopping signals. In this paper, a novel Cramer-Rao lower bound (CRLB) of TDOA estimation for frequency hopping signals is proposed and derived based on the given frequency hopping signal model. Theoretical analysis has revealed how frequency hopping signals' parameters, such as signal band, channel interval, hop duration and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), affect the estimation performance. Simulation results have justified the theoretical derivation.

Specific emitter identification use external signal feature called radio frequency fingerprint to identify the different radio transmitter, which does not rely on information content. A radio frequency fingerprint feature extraction approach based on I/Q imbalance of quadrature modulation signal is proposed. A I/Q modulator model is utilized to investigate the sources of radio frequency fingerprint and the effect on signal. A fingerprint features extraction based on signal space is proposed, but the SNR (signal to Noise Ratio) need to be estimated before. Simulation results demonstrate that the method have superior performance than previous bispectrum-based, Hibert-Huang transform-based approaches.

In the moving sensor network, the direct positioning method(DPD) can greatly improve the positioning performance of the system, but it also brings the problem of high computational complexity and poor stability of the algorithm. In this paper, a distributed fast DPD algorithm based on timefrequency difference is proposed. The complex large-scale matrix operation and the maximal eigenvalue solution in the original DPD algorithm are replaced by the cross ambiguity function(CAF) and the matrix norm respectively. An effective distributed computing method is designed to make full use of the sensor network Of the computation resources. The simulation results show that the proposed method can greatly simplify the computational complexity, improve the stability of the algorithm, while the location performance is equivalent to the original DPD algorithm.

Least Square (LS) estimation is a simple but not good enough for localization method which is widely used for target position estimation. The time difference of arrival (TDOA) location based on LS method needs to select a reference sensor to obtain a series of equations. Thus, the measured error of the selected first sensor will certainly influence the location accuracy. In our article, an algorithm based on select the primary sensor is proposed, which selects the primary station according the residual. New algorithm improves performs better than conventional method in harsh environment. This paper proposes a method to identify the hybrid modulation signals. Firstly, the method utilizes instantaneous frequency (IF) of signals combined with histogram to classify conventional signals and hybrid modulation signals. Then an improved signal segmentation method is used to resolve the hybrid modulation signals to conventional signals. Experimental results show that the proposed method can identify seven kinds of typical radar signals, and achieve 94% recognition accuracy when SNR is 3dB.

In this paper, we consider separation and decoding for two QPSK signals, which have the same symbol rates. However, the complexity of the present method is too high. To solve this question, an algorithm based on lattice reduction and joint iteration is proposed to enhance the separation performance. To realize unbiased bearing estimates of multiple acoustic sources in a range-independent shallow water, Normal-Mode based MUSIC(NM-MUSIC) method using acoustic vector sensor(AVS) array is proposed in this paper. Comparing to NM-MUSIC method based on scalar array, the method based on AVS array solves the problem of port and starboard ambiguity, and also breaks through the limitation of half wavelength. Meanwhile, the method realizes unbiased bearing estimates, while most of the conventional Direction of Arrival(DOA) methods result in biased bearing estimates in shallow water. Simulation results show that the performance of the new method proposed is better than that of the original method.
