Uplink control information (UCI) and discontinuous reception (DRX) play important roles for massive machine type communication (mMTC). Despite their standalone significance, a conspicuous gap exists in comprehensively exploring the synergy between UCI and DRX concerning both energy conservation and latency reduction for mMTC. In this letter, we propose a UCI-based clustered access and DRX management (UCADM) scheme that strikes a balance between these two critical performance metrics, reducing energy usage while preserving low latency in uplink-downlink interaction for mMTC. Specifically, we present a strictly feasible solution for the proposed UCADM scheme by using the spectral radius and the constraint projection, which can effectively solve DRX switching operations as indicated by scheduling information from UCI. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness of our scheme. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Shadowsocks (R) is a proxy software based on Socks5, which is the collective name of Shadowsocks and Shadowsocks (R). In order to improves the shortcomings of other softwares breaking internet censorship, Shadowsocks (R) is a private protocol without handshake negotiation mechanism, and pays more attention to high camouflage and high concealment of traffic, which makes it difficult to use common methods(fingerprint identification, port filtering)to identify Shadowsocks (R) traffic[1], This paper proposes a method of Shadowsocks (R) traffic identification from the perspective of the protocol, which extracts features from four dimensions, and inputs features into the machine learning model for training. This method performs secondary identification and statistical filtering on the output of the machine learning model, and finally identifys Shadowsocks (R) traffic. This method has been very well validated in the laboratory environment.

Carrier-aided code tracking loop is widely used in satellite navigation receivers. This kind of loop structure can reduce code tracking noise by narrowing the bandwidth of code tracking loop. The performance of carrier-aided code tracking loop in receivers is affected by frequency deviation of reference clock source. This paper analyzes the influence of carrier frequency offset and sampling frequency offset on carrier-aided code tracking loop due to reference clock offset. The results show that large frequency offset can cause code tracking loop lose lock, code tracking loop is more sensitive to sampling frequency deviation and increasing the loop bandwidth can reduce the effects of frequency offset. This analysis provides reference for receiver tracking loop design.

Solar energy forecasting methods including artificial neural network (ANN) are mostly for planning large or medium scale grid connected photovoltaic (PV) systems. The small prediction step will cause expensive computational cost with ANN. Using the concept of edge computing (EC), the paper proposes an effective short time step PV energy predicting model I based on ANN and wavelet transformation to reduce the computation costs. Sparse coefficients, which are tried by both different wavelet types and similar day classification, and a few forecast meteorological data are used as inputs to reduces the scale of ANN sharply. The simulation results demonstrate that, when the proposed method processes the whole year data, the proposed ANN model I has low computation complexity and superior precision.

Joint Localization and Environment Sensing by Harnessing NLOS Components in RIS-aided mmWave communication Systems

This study explores the use of non-line-of-sight (NLOS) components in millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication systems for joint localization and environment sensing. The radar cross section (RCS) of a reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS) is calculated to develop a general path gain model for RISs and traditional scatterers. The results show that RISs have a greater potential to assist in localization due to their ability to maintain high RCSs and create strong NLOS links. A one-stage linear weighted least squares estimator is proposed to simultaneously determine user equipment (UE) locations, velocities, and scatterer (or RIS) locations using line-of-sight (LOS) and NLOS paths. The estimator supports environment sensing and UE localization even using only NLOS paths. A second-stage estimator is also introduced to improve environment sensing accuracy by considering the nonlinear relationship between UE and scatterer locations. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed estimators in rich scattering environments and the benefits of using NLOS paths for improving UE location accuracy and assisting in environment sensing. The effects of RIS number, size, and deployment on localization performance are also analyzed. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Traditional multicast routing methods have some problems in constructing a multicast tree, such as limited access to network state information, poor adaptability to dynamic and complex changes in the network, and inflexible data forwarding. To address these defects, the optimal multicast routing problem in software-defined networking (SDN) is tailored as a multi-objective optimization problem, and an intelligent multicast routing algorithm DRL-M4MR based on the deep Q network (DQN) deep reinforcement learning (DRL) method is designed to construct a multicast tree in SDN. First, the multicast tree state matrix, link bandwidth matrix, link delay matrix, and link packet loss rate matrix are designed as the state space of the DRL agent by combining the global view and control of the SDN. Second, the action space of the agent is all the links in the network, and the action selection strategy is designed to add the links to the current multicast tree under four cases. Third, single-step and final reward function forms are designed to guide the intelligence to make decisions to construct the optimal multicast tree. The experimental results show that, compared with existing algorithms, the multicast tree construct by DRL-M4MR can obtain better bandwidth, delay, and packet loss rate performance after training, and it can make more intelligent multicast routing decisions in a dynamic network environment. With increase of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, the burden of cloud computing servers is gradually increasing. Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), as an emerging solution, can relieve the pressure of computing and improve the quality of user experience. One of the critical challenges in MEC is to make effective use of communication and computing resources and select the task processing mode reasonably. In this paper, based on the scenario of a single mobile device (MD) to one mobile edge server (MES), we propose a Joint optimization method base on Discrete Binary Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (JOBPSO) for system load. The JOBPSO can optimize MD's task offloading, reduce delay and energy consumption. Finally, the simulation results indicate that the performance of JOBPSO in reducing system load is better than the other two traditional offloading methods.

Motion deblurring is an indispensable task in perceptual systems because motion blur can seriously influence the visual effect and the quality of subsequent perception tasks. In practical application, efficiency and effect of motion deblurring are both important. However, among the existing methods, there is no design that can meet the real-time and visual quality requirements at the same time. Thus, an efficient motion deblurring network is proposed by leveraging multi-stage pixel-wise degradation prediction. Specifically, some lightweight modules are designed to accelerate processing while attention and multi-scale mechanism are introduced to maintain quality. In addition, a pixel-wise degradation prediction module and a spatial-channel compensation module are further employed to improve the deblurring quality, such as the distortion of moving objects in the restoration images. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed network can achieve the same PSNR level as the SOTA lightweight deblurring methods and is far faster (5.3 times for DMPHN, 6.7 times for IFI-RNN). Therefore, the proposed design achieves a balance between quality and speed compared with the existing methods. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Detection of tannins can be utilized as an approach for regulating food quality. Herein, a single-atom Fe nanozyme (Fe@CN-20)-based sensitive colorimetric sensor for tannins was initially developed. Fe@CN-20 had both laccase-like and oxidase-like activities, and has a high affinity for TMB with a Km value of 6.191×10-7 M. Therefore, the Fe@CN-20/TMB system can be sensitive to tannic acid due to the fact that tannins are easily oxidized. The linear range was 5 - 100 mg/L, and the detection limit was 0.13 mg/L (S/N=3). The entire testing process takes approximately 30 minutes. The sensing platform was further successfully utilized for quantifying tannins in five different brands of brandy. The sensing platform is characterized by great environmental stability, recyclability, remarkable sensitivity, and stability, all of which demonstrate its immense potential for rapid on-site detection of tannins. © 2023, The Authors.
