Automatic prediction of photo aesthetic quality is useful for many practical purposes. Current computational approaches typically solved this problem by assigning a categorical label (good or bad) to a photo. However, due to the subjectivity and complexity of humans aesthetic judgments, only a categorical label is insufficient to represent humans perceived aesthetic quality of a photo. This paper focuses on an interesting problem: is it possible to predict the crowed opinions about the aesthetic quality of a photo? The crowed opinion here is expressed by the distribution of scores given by a number of subjects. For each given photo, a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN) is utilized to calculate its feature representation. Afterwards, the crowed opinion prediction problem is formulated as one of label distribution learning (LDL). Experiments show that the proposed method is highly effective and outperforms state-of-the-art algorithms.

Prognostics and Health Management (PHM) has been researched on for recent years, and extensive studies have been done on hot topics into this field, such as diagnostics, prognostics, and decision making. However, how to evaluate PHM system architecture is still lacking. This is particularly important when designing avionics system equipped with PHM functions. We propose a general, time-variant architecture model that can simulate PHM system. Performance metrics are calculated to quantitatively evaluate the system architecture. This is useful to find differences of architectures in the earlier design stage in engineering. A case study is presented of the use of architecture modelling to show the effectiveness. And future works are discussed.

A Survey of Knowledge Enhanced Pre-trained Models

Pre-trained language models learn informative word representations on a large-scale text corpus through self-supervised learning, which has achieved promising performance in fields of natural language processing (NLP) after fine-tuning. These models, however, suffer from poor robustness and lack of interpretability. We refer to pre-trained language models with knowledge injection as knowledge-enhanced pre-trained language models (KEPLMs). These models demonstrate deep understanding and logical reasoning and introduce interpretability. In this survey, we provide a comprehensive overview of KEPLMs in NLP. We first discuss the advancements in pre-trained language models and knowledge representation learning. Then we systematically categorize existing KEPLMs from three different perspectives. Finally, we outline some potential directions of KEPLMs for future research. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The rapid increasing challenges of modeling and simulation for systems-of-systems Engineering (SoSE) is to deal with their large-scale and complexity of heterogeneous and inter-dependent constituent systems. Typically, the method of structural modeling provides a thorough understanding of the composition and operation of different elements, but loses sight of the dynamic characteristics of the systems or components. To make a comprehensive analysis of the System-of-systems (SoS), the solution of behavior modeling will be more important to adapt to the evolving of the SoS, which focus on understanding the constituent systems and their relationships, and evaluating changes of the constituent system, and continuously responding to the new requirements and options of SoS. This paper discusses how to support the application of modeling and simulation (M&S) based on the framework of SysML to describe the architecture and capability of SoS, and combined with the process and activities of model-based system engineering (MBSE).

The accurate segmentation of stroke lesion regions holds immense significance in shaping treatment strategies and rehabilitation protocols. Due to the large difference in the volume of stroke lesion areas and the great similarity between lesion areas and normal tissues, most of the existing methods for lesion segmentation cannot deal with these problems well. This paper proposes a novel network named MD-TransUNet for the segmentation of stroke lesions, whose framework is based on the UNet architecture. To fully obtain deep image features, it uses ResNet50 for downsampling. MD (multi-dilated) module is employed as the skip connection to gain more receptive fields. Different receptive fields can adapt to varying volumes of lesion areas. Then, a feature extraction module with multi-level attention mechanism is designed using ConvLSTM, non-local spatial attention, and channel attention modules to suppress useless information expression in skip connections and upsampling processes while focusing more on effective spatial and channel information in features. The experiments show that our proposed network gets superior performance than benchmark methods and indicates the generalization and effectiveness of the proposed model. © ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

While the difficulty and complexity of simulation system increasing, the development efficiency and execution performance of the large-scale distributed simulation system (LSDSS) must be improved effectively. Furthermore, while the multi-core has become popular hardware, yet the traditional federate mechanism couldn't utilize and schedule the CPU resource, which would limit the simulation performance. Then PFHF, Parallel Framework for HLA Federate, was designed and realized to solve the problem above. PFHF could combine and construct federate from simulation model components, perform simulation engine management, data distribution management, object management, component management and load balancing function, etc., then support the integrated execution environment based on multi-core and parallel technique. Several experiments proved that PFHF could utilize multi-core CPU adequately, and reduce the LSDSS execution time efficiently.

A rapid reentry trajectory planning method for a common aero vehicle (CAV) subject to all path constraints is developed. The reentry trajectory is divided into initial descent phase and quasi-equilibrium glide phase which possesses a majority of the reentry period. An improved quasi-equilibrium glide condition is utilized to convert reentry corridor constraints to the control variable constraints and get a simple relation between the range-to-go and velocity. Accordingly the longitudinal reference trajectory is computed through the one-parameter search of bank angle model and the corresponding tracking law is designed using linear quadratic regulator theory. To enhance the maneuvering capability, a geometrical control approach considering no-fly zone constraints is applied to the lateral guidance. Finally, the performance of this method is verified by computer simulation.

The load balancing problem is becoming the main technical obstacle in HLA distributed simulation development with the increasing scale of distributed simulation system. The solution of task-federate mapping and federate-processor mapping used to be determined based on experiences and the entity is taken as a task granularity in simulations in order to simplify the model in previous studies. Neither the experience methods nor the previous studies could solve the huge communication overhead or load imbalance problem effectively in large scale distributed simulation. The static load balancing optimization of HLA distributed simulation is divided into task-federate mapping and federate-processor mapping, and a two-stage mapping allocation optimization method is proposed in this paper. Decreasing communication overhead of the system is the main mission in the task-federate mapping stage and the load balancing is studied in the federate allocation stage. The effectiveness of the proposed method, which developed a new direction for static load balancing distribution optimization in distributed simulations, is verified with experiments.

Bicycle sharing system has emerged as a new mode of transportation in many big cities over the past *** the large number of bicycle stations distribute widely in the city,it is difficult to identify their unique attributes and characteristics *** to the real bicycle hire dataset in Hangzhou,China,the clustering analysis for the bicycle stations based on the temporal flow data was carried out ***,based on the spatial distribution and temporal attributes of calculated clusters,visual diagram and map were used to vividly analyze the bicycle hire behavior related to station category and study the travel rules of *** experimental results demonstrate the relation between human mobility,the time of day,day of week and the station location.

Public bicycle sharing services are becoming popular over the past decade. The behavior of using public bicycle system(PBS) produces numerous hire records involving citizens' movement. This paper presents a visual analytics system-Touching PBSData, to help both traffic administrators and ordinary citizens visually explore and understand PBS data on multi-touch devices. Tasks and design principles are put forward firstly. Four views are designed to show different aspects of the dataset, including the geographical distribution, the spatio-temporal pattern and personal relevant information. In order to enhance the flexibility and usability of system, the organization mode of views and rich user interaction suitable for multi-touch device are further studied. By adopting real PBS dataset, the results of case studies certify that our method is able to help analyzers to find stations' main function and citizens' travel habits. Moreover, the feedback from the participants with various backgrounds is very affirmative through the user study.
