The atmospheric attenuation of THz wave is closely related to the meteorological parameters, such as temperature, barometric pressure, relative humidity, etc. In this paper, the data from China Meteorological Data Sharing Service system is employing to calculate the atmospheric attenuation of THz wave based on MPM (Millimeter Propagation Model), according to ITU-R Rec. P. 676-8. An optimal fitting function (Logarithmic Curve, Index Curve) is put forward to fit these discrete data from Sharing Service system to augment the range of calculating atmospheric attenuation. And the discrete data and fitting curve have a great agreement. In addition, two cities of China (Chengdu, Fuzhou) are selected to research the atmospheric attenuation of THz wave at different heights.

Design patterns are a set of solutions in software development process, and have been successfully applied to the modern software development process, greatly improved the performance of the software systems, such as reusability, reliability, flexibility and scalability. The paper analysis the radar signal processing system and combines it with the design patterns, and divide the system into processing component, interaction component and communication component, and choose three kinds of patterns builder pattern, state pattern and single pattern to design and implement the radar signal processing system. By combination with the design patterns, it could improve the scalability, universality and reusability of the system and the designed signal processing system can be used in variety of radars.

In this study, the radar returns from a target with deterministic polarization in clutter environments illuminated by fully polarized waves are taken into account. Statistical properties of the polarization ratio for radar returns are obtained on the assumption of complex Gaussian distributions with non-zero means. Probability density functions (PDFs) of the amplitude ratio and the phase difference are expressed in closed forms. Comparisons of statistical properties from simulated data to the theoretical PDFs derived on the basis of non-zero means, as well as the traditional ones. The better fitted results are presented to verify the advantage of the newly proposed polarization ratio models.

Modern product development becomes increasingly collaborative and parallel, which raises the need for sharing simulation resources in a multi-tenant simulation environment. However, the service requests and scheduling policies of tenants differ since system resources are shared by tenants. In order to deal with this issue, the framework of monitoring, detecting and scheduling system performance is proposed. As SLA is produced as the contract for negotiations between tenants and the service provider, the WS-Agreement specification is applied and improved to represent the service contents and qualities. Based on the SLA template, a dynamic resource distributing mechanism is realized. The Satisfaction Index is introduced into the scheduling of distributed resources, in which the weighted formula is determined by priorities. A case study has been undertaken and preliminary results show that the proposed solution can effectively support the cloud simulation and efficiently meet tenants' personal requirements.

Training simulation is broadly used in military training but not limited. The simulation environment contains so many elements and so many factors affect the result, so an effective and efficient mechanism to help to manage these factors is required. This article firstly listes the elements in the environment, and then builds the object models of all kinds of objects. Based on these object models, the experiment frame is designed. Finally, a simple case study is given. According to the actual application, these models and frame facilitate the experiment management and help the analysts to analyze the simulation result.

Pi Calculus, a kind of process algebra has been widely used to describe distributed computation system currently, such as Web service and cloud platform. A variant of Pi Calculus, Pi-beam, is proposed with some imported operators, such as logic- parallels and beam channel. Based on these calculi, in this paper, we introduce a distributed higher-order Pi Calculus with the combination of higher-order and distribution extensions. To describe the mobility of distributed system, we import the distributed ex- tensions, such as domain and migration application;moreover, this calculus is designed into high-order to fit function abstraction and application. These extensions show usability and soundness by the semantic rules and example illustration. © ICIC International 2015.

One of the most promising techniques to improve the quality and productivity of TT&C software is product line engineering, the core of which is the product line architecture for TT&C software support framework (PLATSSF) which is of great help to improve the reusability of architectural design. Since component models are cornerstones of support framework design, the characteristics of them including variety, common requirement and variant requirement were firstly analyzed. Then, mainly by analyzing the three stages of TT&C software, which include development deployment and runtime, the structure of PLATSSF is designed. Thirdly, the function of PLATSSF is instantiated by adding a new satellite to the framework. In this instance the software requirements are analyzed and the contents of software development are provided. In conclusion, PLATSSF implements the production of the TT&C software series, reduces the workload of software development and improves the software quality. © Tsinghua University Press, Beijing and Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2015.

UHF band radar can be influenced by the electromagnetic (EM) waves radiated from the communication base stations. Polarimetric measurements and analysis of the EM waves will be helpful to grasp the multi-dimension character of the EM environment which the UHF band radar confronts. In this study, polarization statistical characterization models of the base-station signals received by UHF band radar are established. Probability density functions (PDFs) of the polarization ratio (PR) and the degree of polarization (DoP) are derived in closed forms. Radar polarimetric measurement experiments have been developed for the signals radiated from the single-base station (SBS) and from the multi-base stations (MBS), respectively. Comparisons of these theoretically derived PDFs are made to measurements from real collected data. The different polarization statistical properties of the EM waves from SBS and MBS are revealed.

Weapon system of systems gaps assessment (WSoSCGA) is a key problem in the field of weapon demonstration research. Traditional methods have a lot of work to do and lack science. This paper tries to solve this problem in a novel way based on capability ratio. All the criteria should be normalized differently according to their own attributes. By combining the subjective weighting method and objective weighting method, synthesized weights are formed and inputted into a framework to determine their relative capability values. Then we can evaluate weapon system of systems gaps by comparative analysis. In contrast with traditional methods, there is no need to calculate specific capability value of each SoS for gaps assessment. At last, a case is conducted to illustrate its utilization and demonstrate its effectiveness and feasibility for WSoSCGA. © (2014) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The all-mental double corrugated waveguide slow wave structure has potential to produce high power THz radiation. This paper presents a terahertz backward wave tube with double corrugated waveguide SWS in consideration of the surface loss and the cathode's emittance. To reduce the size and weight, a wedge attenuator is assembled at the end of the backward wave tube. The dispersion characteristics and the interaction impedance of the slow wave structure are studied in detail and optimized. The beam-wave interaction is simulated with CST Particle Studio. The results show that this backward wave tube can produce over 0.16-W output power at the frequency of 0.36THz. The THz sheet beam backward wave tube will be fabricated and tested in the near future.
