To cope with the increasing complexity and constantly changing capability requirements of system-of-systems, an architectural approach for capability mapping and gap analysis is ***, a more specific architecture framework is presented. Secondly, on the basis of the analysis of the semantic relationships between constituent architecture data elements, a capability mapping approach is proposed to manage the relations between capabilities and systems based on the mapping matrixes representing associations of core entities. Then, a four-step capability mapping process for the mapping from capabilities to systems is suggested. Moreover, the capability gap analysis on how to identify and fill the capability gaps is also studied. Finally, an example of specific Net-Centric Warfare mission of Precision Engagement is used to illustrate the feasibility of the approach.

The equilibrium profile of suspended sediment concentration(SSC) in steady,uniform turbulent flow has been extensively studied since the proposition of Rouse equation(Rouse,1937).Many researchers keep studying and attempting to improve the Rouse equation by modifying the mixing length *** and Dey(2009) improved Rouse equation based on the modified sediment diffusivity,however,their proposed sediment diffusivity has two parameters,the depth modification factor α and the reciprocal of the sediment Schmidt number β=1/S;,and the corresponding expressions were not given properly in their *** paper aims to parameterize the relevant coefficients,the results shows:(1)α is parameterized from a reasonable approximation by the analysis of surface boundary condition of SSC;(2) considering some effect factors on the settling velocity,β can be expressed by an extended and modified Montcs-Ippen formula,and its related parameters are calibrated by substantial data about the relationship between the primary Rouse parameter Z.= ω;/*** its counterpart Z.’=ω;/β*** verification with some experimental and field datasets,and comparison with related formula,the results show that the sediment diffusivity and SSC profiles have a good agreement with measured data used the present parameterized expressions of a and β,so the present improved Rouse equation is reasonable,and can be applied in practical ***,an approximation and simplified expression of the improved Rouse equation is deduced by using the approach of perturbation,which can be applied easily for the estimation of suspended sediment transport rate.

Current SoS (system of systems) evaluation usually adopts the simulation techniques methods, which always need a mass of manpower, cost a long time, could hardly illustrated the structure information and domain knowledge inside SoS. So it couldn’t satisfy the requirements of SoS comprehensive evaluation very well. To solve the problem above, a new method was prompted. Starting from the SoS concept and closely surrounding the SoS forming mechanism, this paper epurates a serious of factors which most impact the holistic level of SoS, further models the factors, the relationship between factors and the forming mechanism, then proposes a new SoS efficiency evaluation method. Different with other current SoS efficiency evaluation methods, this method not only integrates the domain knowledge, but also costs far less time than simulation, is nearly zero- burden. The requirements of SoS evaluation, such as great complexity, large sample, uncertainty and high performance computing, could be satisfied. Applications proved the rationality and validity of the zero-burden based SoS evaluation method.
