An adaptive fault detection strategy for Cz crystal growth process

The monitoring and fault detection for the Czochralski (Cz) crystal growth process is important to ensure the quality of the produced mono-crystalline silicon. The Cz process is a typical multi-modes industrial process, which makes the detection difficult in distinguish the change caused by the fault or mode switching. In this paper, an adaptive fault detection strategy for Cz crystal growth process is proposed. Firstly, quality-related variables are selected from numerous process variables, based on which the training dataset is constructed. Then, a fault detection model is built based on slowly-varying feature and statics indicator. A model switching strategy and updating algorithm are designed to handle the abnormal situation caused by the mode switching or fault occurrence. Three representative experiments are conducted to verify the performance of the proposed strategy, including numerical cases, a publicly available dataset, and Cz crystal growth process from our laboratory. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Breast cancer is one of the most common cancers among female diseases. Since the classification accuracy of pathological images is crucial to the diagnosis of breast cancer, in order to reduce the error of manual diagnosis and improve the automatic classification accuracy of pathological images, this paper proposes a high-accuracy breast cancer classification method based on multi-scale attention mechanism enhanced Res2Net. By constructing a multi-channel residual connection in the residual block, and introducing a convolutional attention mechanism to enhance the feature extraction ability of Res2Net, and using group convolution to replace part of the ordinary convolution. In addition, since the channel information interaction across groups cannot be realized in the group convolution, which reduces the feature extraction ability. In this paper, the channel shuffling operation is used to reorganize the feature maps after the group convolution to achieve the information interaction between different groups. The evaluation results on the BreaKHis dataset show that, the accuracy and precision of the method in this paper have reached 98.5% and 98.9% respectively, in binary classification of histopathological images compared with the benchmark method, and the advantages of recall rate and F1 value are also more obvious. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Demand estimation of water resources via bat algorithm

In the process of urban water resources planning, the demand estimation of urban water consumption is one of the important basic contents. In this paper, a hybrid model of linear estimation model and an exponential estimation model are proposed to forecast the water consumption. The bionic intelligent algorithms are widely used in industrial engineering, so, we use intelligent algorithms to solve the proposed model including Bat Algorithm (BA) and modified Bat Algorithm (FTBA). FTBA improves the global search capability, and the improvements increase the probability of solving the optimal value. In the simulation experiments, we use the data from Nanchang city during 2003 to 2015. The data from 2003 to 2012 are used to find the optimal weights, and the remaining data (2013–2015) are used to test the models. Simulation results show that the modified BA (FTBA) is superior to the standard algorithm and achieves higher accuracy in prediction. Copyright © 2020 Inderscience Enterprises Ltd.

In order to make full use of the concept of model-based systems engineering (MBSE) and the collaborative design capability of the open model-based engineering environment (OpenMBEE) in establishing complex product development platform, we propose an effective method to solve the problem of unified identity authentication in OpenMBEE integration. The proposed method is based on the Model View Controller(MVC) architecture in OpenMBEE, which has the characteristics strong plasticity and can be benefit for expanding the function in the controller layer. In our research, we make full use of the Software Development Kit (SDK) of OpenMBEE to expand the existing functions in the controller layer, and increase the function of communicating with the application development platform, then realize the function of sharing user authentication information between the development platform and OpenMBEE. After expansion, the system includes three modules, including the Front-end Service Module(FSM), MQ based Information Receiving Service Module(IFRSM), and the OpenMBEE Back-end Server Module(BSM). The effectiveness of the proposed strategies is verified by some practical instances, which verifies that our study can provide an effective design idea for the identity authentication in OpenMBEE integration. ©2021 IEEE

Eshelby在椭球夹杂问题的研究中提出过一个著名的猜想——Eshelby猜想,即椭球是唯一一种能将均匀本征应变转化为均匀弹性应变的夹杂构型,且该类性质被称为Eshelby均匀特性.在后来的研究中,Eshelby猜想被分为强弱两个版本,在三维各向同性介质中,Eshelby弱猜想已经得到证明,但Eshelby强猜想仍然悬而未决,其中Ammari等人(2010)仅针对本征应力有三个相同或三个不同特征值的情形证明了强猜想成立.在这项工作中,我们考虑尚未被证明的情形,即本征应力仅有两个相同特征值的情形.首先,我们提出了具有Eshelby均匀特性的夹杂须满足的必要条件.接着,由于该必要条件不足以帮我们判别夹杂构型是否只能为椭球,因此我们额外引入一个与材料常数相关的约束条件,继而基于非相似材料的概念,证明了,在两个非相似各向同性介质中都具有Eshelby均匀特性的夹杂构型只能为椭球。最后,我们提出了一个更具体的强猜想的受限证明,我们约束具有Eshelby均匀特性的夹杂其内部应变场与椭球在相同本征应变下产生的内部应变场相同,继而证明了,对特定本征应力及与本征应力相关的弹性张量的组合,Eshelby强猜想成立.综上,该工作在完全证明三维各向同性介质Eshelby强猜想的探索道路上又向前迈进了一步.

Flat objects with negligible thicknesses like books and disks are challenging to be grasped by the robot because of the width limit of the robot's gripper, especially when they are in cluttered environments. Pre-grasp manipulation is conducive to rearranging objects on the table and moving the flat objects to the table edge, making them graspable. In this paper, we formulate this task as Parameterized Action Markov Decision Process, and a novel method based on deep reinforcement learning is proposed to address this problem by introducing sliding primitives as actions. A weight-sharing policy network is utilized to predict the sliding primitive's parameters for each object, and a Q-network is adopted to select the acted object among all the candidates on the table. Meanwhile, via integrating a curriculum learning scheme, our method can be scaled to cluttered environments with more objects. In both simulation and real-world experiments, our method surpasses the existing methods and achieves pre-grasp manipulation with higher task success rates and fewer action steps. Without fine-tuning, it can be generalized to novel shapes and household objects with more than 85% success rates in the real world. Reusing shipping containers for residential purposes offers a promising approach to address global energy consumption challenges from economic and environmental perspectives. This study parametrically designed hybrid louver shadings by combining fixed vertical triangular slats with variable-depth horizontal rectangular slats, offering a novel approach to shading prefabricated buildings. The energy consumption, daylighting performance, and visual comfort were assessed for various shading configurations. Results indicated that implementing the proposed hybrid louvers, featuring fixed vertical triangular slats and variable-depth horizontal rectangular slats, significantly reduced Energy Use Intensity (EUI) to 133.95 kWh/m2. Moreover, Useful daylight illuminance (UDI), Daylight Autonomy (DA), and Glare Autonomy (GA) values improved to 95.38%, 89.97%, and 91.16%, respectively. The study highlighted the potential of the proposed shading system to significantly reduce overall energy consumption across various ASHRAE climate zones, including Miami (1A), Guangzhou (2A), Melbourne (3C), Esperance (3C), San Diego (3A), and Milan (4A). Notably, energy reductions of up to 50.2% were projected for climates such as Miami (1A) and San Diego (3A). Furthermore, container buildings in warm climate zones exhibited a significantly lower EUI range of 76.58 to 91.95 kWh/m². This study underscores the transformative potential of hybrid louver systems in promoting the widespread adoption of sustainable residential architecture, contributing to global sustainability efforts. © 2024 Southwest Jiatong University

Radar Polarimetric information can effectively expand the understanding of target shape and structure, and have potential of exploring materials and local fine features of targets. In this paper, based on the theory of coherent and incoherent polarimetric decomposition, we extract features of multiple types of unmanned aerial vehicles with full polarization. Then communication with local agents (CLA) method is used to overcome shortcomings of difficulty of obtaining target training samples under real electromagnetic environment conditions. Based on the extracted polarimetric scattering mechanism, we can realize the accurate identification of UAVs without training samples. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified based on electromagnetic data measured in anechoic chamber and calculated by the software. The experiment proves that the recognition rate of the proposed algorithm is higher than that of conventional algorithms, and it has the ability to characterize the fine structure of unmanned aerial vehicles. © 2021 IEEE.

The phase-switched screen (PSS) can change the reflected echo of the target through a certain control method, thereby generating false targets. The study of material properties and the impact of materials on radar has attracted a lot of attention from the academic community. However, there are few studies on the influence of signal echo changes caused by artificial surface metamaterials on radar resources. In this paper, using PSS to change radar echo information to generate false targets in the Doppler frequency domain. Then the multi-false targets jamming effect on radar resources and multi-target tracking is analyzed. Simulation results show that these targets can consume radar search and tracking resources, generate a large number of temporary trails. This research is beneficial to the application of PSS for interference radar resources.
