Orthogonality derivation of polarization state based on Poincaré sphere

To make full use of the polarization information of electromagnetic waves for the polarimetric sensor array, we derive the orthogonality expression of the polarization state based on the Poincaré sphere (PS) representation. The ellipticity angle and the orientation angle of the ellipse are used to describe the polarization ellipse and the point on the surface of the Poincaré sphere. The derivation shows that two points that characterize a pair of orthogonal polarization states are distributed in the opposite positions. Compared with the conventional linear and circular polarization state, the flexible elliptical polarization state would result in the maximum separation of co-polarization and cross-polarization components, thereby enhancing the accuracy of polarization information measurement. The simulation result displays the correctness of the theoretical derivation, which could provide a basis for the further polarization state configuration.

Collision avoidance is the primary problem to be solved in formation flight of multiple Unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs). Firstly, a cooperative collision avoidance architecture of multiple UAVs is designed according to the requirement of autonomous collision avoidance of single UAV. Then a new cooperative collision avoidance method of multiple UAVs based on Kalman filter and model predictive control(MPC) is proposed. In this method, extended Kalman filter(EKF) is used to estimate the state of obstacles and target points in uncertain environment space, and to predict the trajectory of obstacles and target points. At the same time, relevant performance index functions and constraints are set up. On the basis of sharing environmental information, model predictive control strategy is used to guide and make cooperative collision avoidance decisions for multiple UAVs. The simulation results show that the proposed method is effective in uncertain environment perception and UAV collision avoidance, and the cooperative mechanism has obvious advantages. © 2019 IEEE.

In this paper, we will propose a super wide bandwidth low frequency antenna with a compact size for HF, VHF and UHF applications. The developed low frequency antenna consists of coplanar guide feeding structure, sleeve-like structure with lumped elements, reactance loading in the feeding. The antenna is investigated and evaluated in the HFSS, and the simulation results shows that the proposed antenna has a very wide fractional bandwidth of 191.9% from 10 MHz to 481 MHz for supporting the HF, VHF, UHF and P-band detection system applications in various platform like aircraft, ship and vehicles.

Facing the complex electromagnetic environment on the battlefield, how to effectively identify important radar signals by jammers and how to implement strong and effective electromagnetic interference to the enemy's huge radar detection system under the condition of limited jamming resources will be the difficult problems that need to be solved continuously in the electronic warfare field. The solution of these problems will be the premise of effective interference for wartime jammers. In this paper, the technical gap of traditional jammers is analyzed. For radar signal perception, a refined perception and recognition method is proposed, forming the algorithm idea of multi-scale feature extraction and recognition based on radar fingerprint and multi-channel integrated multi-label recognition and classification based on radar radiation source. For interference implementation, the idea of smart interference based on deep GAN is put forward, laying the ground for further research on cognitive electronic warfare. © 2019 IEEE.

Mitigation of cross-eye jamming using a dual-polarization array

This paper presents an approach for mitigating the cross-eye jamming using a dual-polarization array. By transmitting a sum beam and a difference beam in two orthogonal polarimetric channels, a synthesized transmitted beam with spatially varying polarization is produced, such that the polarization of the transmitted radar wave varies in azimuth or elevation. Thus, the phases of the signals received on the two antennas of a cross-eye jammer become unequal, and an additional phase difference is introduced to disrupt the 180？ phase shifting in the retrodirective loop of the jammer. By means of beam scanning in a small angular range,the optimal beam steering configuration can be found to maximize the phase error for the mitigation of cross-eye jamming. As a result, the jamming performance of the cross-eye jammer degrades largely. Theoretical analysis and simulation results indicate that the proposed method is valid and feasible.

In order to improve the prediction accuracy of the carbon brush temperature trend of the generator, analyzing the operating state of the generator more accurately, and reduce other accidents like the unplanned outage caused by carbon brush failure of the generator in the power plant. A multi-step temperature prediction model based on the LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) neural network is proposed. The data comes from real operating carbon brush temperature of Weihai Power Plant in ten days. Then the temperature prediction model is established to achieve an accurate prediction of the carbon brush temperature in the future day. The prediction error is stable within 0.4 °C. By comparing the predicted results of the BP model and Elman model, the error between the predicted results of each model and the actual temperature data is analyzed. By comparing the indicators and analyzing the actual curves, the results show that LSTM neural network has higher accuracy in predicting the temperature of generator carbon brush. This method is of reference significance for the accurate analysis of the operation state of the generator and the load analysis of the excitation system.

Extraction and injection of spatial details from the panchromatic (PAN) image and preservation of the spectral characteristics of the multispectral (MS) image are the key issues in pansharpening methods, which are of great significance for the application of image interpretation and target recognition. In this paper, a spectral-driven pansharpening method in which the injection detailed coefficients are estimated over each component segmented by the adaptive K-means algorithm is proposed. The pansharpening method relies on a multi-resolution framework, generalized Laplacian pyramid (GLP) technique, which is applied for the extraction of detail image. The fused image is used as the feedback element, its distance from the original MS image is used to adjust the number of segments adaptively so as to reduce the spectral distortion. Experiments carried out on GeoEye-1 and QuickBird data sets demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of our proposed method.

Learning from natural bacteria flagellum, we demonstrate a magnetic polymer multilayer conical microrobot that bestow the controllable propulsion upon external rotating magnetic field with uniform intensity. The magnetic microrobots were constructed by template-assisted Layer-by-Layer technique technique and subsequent functionalization of magnetic particle onto the big opening of the microrobots. Geometric variables of the polymer microrobots, such as the diameter and wall thickness, can be controlled by selection of porous template and layers of assembly. The microrobots perform controllable propulsion through the manipulation of magnetic field. The comparative analysis of the movement behavior reveals that the deformation of microrobots may attributed to the propulsion upon rotating magnetic field, which is similar as that of natural bacteria. The influence of actuation frequencies and frequencies on the velocity of the microrobots is studied. Such use of polymer polymer multilayer tubular micro/nanoarchitectures results in significant savings in the processing costs and provides a simple and cost-effective fabrication route for the mass production of magnetic polymer microrobots. © 2024, The Authors.
