An important question in data-driven control is how to obtain an informative dataset. In this work, we consider the problem of effective data acquisition of an unknown linear system with bounded disturbance for both open-loop and closed-loop stages. The learning objective is to minimize the volume of the set of admissible systems. First, a performance measure based on historical data and the input sequence is introduced to characterize the upper bound of the volume of the set of admissible systems. On the basis of this performance measure, an open-loop active learning strategy is proposed to minimize the volume by actively designing inputs during the open-loop stage. For the closed-loop stage, an closed-loop active learning strategy is designed to select and learn from informative closed-loop data. The efficiency of the proposed closed-loop active learning strategy is proved by showing that the unselected data cannot benefit the learning performance. Furthermore, an adaptive predictive controller is designed in accordance with the proposed data acquisition approach. The recursive feasibility and the stability of the controller are proved by analyzing the effect of the closed-loop active learning strategy. Finally, numerical examples and comparisons illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed data acquisition strategy. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

It has long posed a challenging task to optimally deploy multi-agent systems (MASs) to cooperatively coverage poriferous environments in real cooperative detection applications. In response to this challenge, this paper proposes a hierarchical coverage control (HCC) protocol for MASs to perform sector-based coverage operations. First, a distributed Voronoi partition-based sweep-and-assign protocol, combined with a sectorial partition method, is developed, enabling the segmentation of a whole poriferous region into multiple sectorial sub-subregions. Following this procedure, an extreme search scheme is developed to determine the optimal amount of agents for each subregion. After this allocation, a distributed controller is proposed to deploy the agents, considering non-holonomic constraints, into designated niche positions. Additionally, sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the asymptotical stability of the present HCC. The analytical challenge of the present study stems from the non-convex characteristics inherent in the loss function induced by porous environments. This non-convexity renders the task of globally optimizing the assignment of MASs intractable. Finally, numerical simulations are conducted to validate the effectiveness of the present coverage control approach. © 2014 IEEE.

In the field of railway transportation, with the continuous improvement of train running speed and the continuous increase of operating mileage, it becomes particularly important to ensure the safety and integrity of small-target infrastructure along the railway train. Although many small-target detection methods have been proposed, the research on small-target infrastructure detection along rail trains is very rare. To solve this problem, this paper proposes a small-target infrastructure detection network with spatial tracking and multi-level feature extraction based on Yolov8n. The experimental results show that ST-YOLO has a 3.6% mAP improvement on the OSDaR23 dataset compared to the baseline Yolov8n, and shows significant advantages over other state-of-the-art methods.

Plate and frame filter press is an important solid-liquid separation equipment that plays an important role in many fields. The filter plate is one of the core components of the frame filter press, and its main function is to support the filter cloth and form a filter chamber. After the filtration process of the filter press is completed, a large number of impurities are often attached to the filter plate, so it is of great value to study the impurity cleaning problem of the filter plate of the plate and frame filter press. In this paper, aiming at the cleaning process of the filter plate of the plate and frame filter press, the image information of the filter plate is obtained by visual means, and then the image is analyzed and processed to obtain the position information of the impurities of the filter plate, the path planning of the obtained position information is carried out, and finally the robot is made to complete the cleaning task efficiently and accurately according to the planned path, which has certain practical value.

Energy storage station (ESS) and wind farm (WF) have the potential to serve as a black-start sources to accelerate the power system restoration after blackout. However, the voltage security problem when start the auxiliary machines of power plants limit their reliability as black-start sources. A voltage control method is proposed for ESS and WF combined black-start sources to improve the voltage security during black-start. Firstly, the black-start process based on grid-forming ESS and WF is presented, and the voltage control framework is established. Then, a predictive control method considering the impact of active power on voltage variations is proposed, in which different optimization modes are established to obtain the active and reactive control sequences for WF and ESS. Finally, black-start simulation with Matlab/Simulink demonstrate the proposed method can improve the voltage security level when starting auxiliary machines of power plants.

This study investigated the optimal tracking performance (OTP) of multi-input multi-output (MIMO), discrete- time networked control systems (NCSs). The limits of tracking performance (TP) under the influences of bandwidth, encoding- decoding, and additive coloured Gaussian noise (ACGN) are derived using the techniques of coprime decomposition and all-pass decomposition. The results reveal the negative impact of non-minimum phase (NMP) zeros and unstable poles of the plant as well as network communication constraints on the TP of NCSs. Finally, a numerical simulation is discussed and verifies our conclusions. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, a distributed event-triggered attitude estimation problem is considered for multiple rigid body systems on SO(3). The error in attitude estimation converges asymptotically to a common orientation among multiple rigid body systems, based on relative attitude measurements under undirected graphs. To eliminate the reliance on direct angular velocity measurements, a cascaded estimation scheme is proposed, employing indirected angular velocity estimation through a single vector measurement that is readily accessible using accelerometers or magnetometers. An event-triggered condition (ETC), grounded in clock variables, is proposed to reduce the communication and computation requirements associated with the attitude estimation. Subsequently, a rigorous convergence analysis of the attitude estimation errors is conducted, relying upon a stability criteria of invariant sets for cascade-connected systems. Furthermore, a self-triggered condition is developed to overcome the challenge of continuous monitoring throughout the event detection process. Ultimately, the efficacy of the proposed framework is validated through a numerical simulation encompassing multiple small satellites. © 2014 IEEE.

The distributed observer design problem holds significant importance in cases in which the output information of a system is decentralized across different subsystems. Each subsystem has a local observer and access to one part of the measurement outputs and information exchanged through communication networks. This paper focuses on the design of distributed observer with jointly connected directed switching networks. The problem presents challenges due to passive switching modes and the open-loop unboundedness that results from local observability. To overcome these challenges, we develop a network transformation mapping method whereby each local observer can classify itself into an independent subgraph based on independent judgment. Next, an observable decomposition and reorganization method is developed for the digraph case to ensure that each subgraph possesses independent dynamic properties. Asymptotic omniscience is then proven using a developed recursive proof method. This paper includes many previous results as special cases, because most are only suitable for undirected switching topologies or fast-switching cases. An adaptive coupling gain design is proposed to simplify the calculation and verification of conditions that guarantee asymptotic omniscience. Finally, simulation results with the power system show the validity of the developed theory. © 2024, CC BY.

Malicious code is characterized by a large number of types, rapid increase in number, continuous update of transmission routes, and continuous enhancement of back analysis and back detection methods. Therefore, how to effectively detect and analyze malicious code has been a problem of great concern. This paper studies the features of binary file and disassembly file of malicious code, introduces the concept of information gain, and proposes a method to construct the multi-dimensional characteristic graph of malicious code. Finally, the convolutional neural network is used to classify the multi-dimensional feature graph of malicious code, which provides a new idea for the feature extraction of malicious code. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Most of the detection methods against DDoS attacks are based on periodic detection, which leads to high communication overhead, untimely detection, and slow attack response. This paper proposes a passive abnormality detection approach. First, we record the two flow-table characteristics of the regular switches. Then, based on dynamic threshold method and Grubbs outlier test method, we make a determination of abnormal switches. This method reduces the amount of data duplication and regular traffic collection. Moreover, we use Support Vector Machine (SVM) algorithm to evaluate the performance of the passive anomaly detection method.
