The DRESOR (Distribution of Ratios of Energy Scattered by the medium Or Reflected by the boundary surface) method is applied for radiative heat transfer in a one-dimensional medium with a nonlinear gradient index and gray boundary surfaces. In this proposed method, the DRESOR values calculated by the Monte Carlo method express quantitatively the impact of scattering on radiative transfer and the radiative intensity with high directional resolution of high precision can be easily obtained. With given media characteristics and boundary conditions, the temperature and radiative flux distributions inside the medium are calculated under the condition of radiative equilibrium. It is shown, in the cases studied, that the DRESOR method has a good accuracy. The temperature distributions have a node with different kinds of sine changed gradient index distributions under the same boundary emissivity. The impact of the gradient index on the radiative heat transfer is considerable, and the same as that of the ratios of its amplitude and average index. Besides, the effects of optical thickness, boundary emissivity and scattering phase function on radiative transfer also should be paid adequate attention.

Social emotional optimization algorithm (SEOA) is a novel swarm intelligent population-based optimization algorithm by simulating the human social behaviors. How- ever, as a stochastic optimization algorithm, it is easily trapped into local optima. In this paper, we propose a new hybrid algorithm combining with Metropolis rule to enhance the escaping capability from local optima. Further- more, the nonlinear equation solving problems are used to test, and compared with the standard version. simulation results show it is effective.

Social emotional optimization algorithm (SEOA) is a novel swarm intelligent population-based optimization algorithm by simulating the human social behaviors. However, it's diversity is decreased increased when solving high-dimensional multi-modal optimization problems. Therefore, in this paper, a new hybrid SEOA with Metropolis rule is introduced to enhance the exploration capability. To test the performance, five famous benchmarks are selected, and compared with the standard version with different dimensions. simulation results show this hybrid algorithm can increase the global search capability significantly.

The application-driven researches on autonomous robotic search having been paid continuous attentions for years, since robot(s) be capable of searching for target(s) taking the place of human beings in dangerous environment for secondary disaster avoidance. Thus the state of the art of this field was surveyed from the viewpoint of robotics, distributed sensor networks and intelligent control. First, a classification was proposed according to a metric of relative number relationship between robots and targets. Then the literature dealing with three modes, i.e., single-robot-single-target, multiple(swarm)-robot-single-target, and multiple(swarm)-robot multiple-target was taken for review. Accordingly, the natural scientific issues concerned with each mode, control techniques, as well as typical applications were summarized respectively. Also, the technical characteristics of the existing approaches were comparatively analyzed for disaster search-and-rescue application. Finally, swarm intelligence-based cooperative control method for autonomous robotic search was examined significantly on demand of distributed artificial intelligent decision making technique, in order to give more exposure to the latest ideas around fields of wireless sensor network and intelligent robotics for promoting the level of disaster prevention and reduction with robotic technology.
