Vector-field-based methods are typical feedback planning algorithms, especially eligible for the motion planning of nonholonomic robots. Nevertheless, most existing vector fields (VF) do not account for the prevalent constraints on robot's kinematics. This paper addresses the motion planning problem for 3D nonholonomic robots with trajectories featuring upper bounded curvature. To this end, a curvature-constrained VF over R3 is proposed, whose integral curves guarantee an upperbound of curvature as well as an almost-global attraction region towards the desired position with a specified heading direction. Moreover, a control strategy is presented to determine the robot's control inputs subject to the curvature constraint. Under the designed control laws, the robot is guaranteed to track the VF while ensuring that the actual trajectory adheres to the curvature constraint. Finally, the efficacy of the presented motion planning algorithm is validated by numerical simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

Machine learning models may be affected, deceived, controlled or destroyed at different stages, e.g. training and inference, which may lead to serious consequences. In view of the main stages of the life cycle of machine learning, we summarizes the related attack and defense technologies based on threat matrix, makes a comprehensive and systematic analysis on the security issues of machine learning, and puts forward several security protection suggestions for intelligent information systems.

With the development of machine learning technology in various fields, such as medical care, smart manufacturing, etc., the data has exploded. It is a challenge to train a deep learning model for different application domains with large-scale data and limited resources of a single device. The distributed machine-learning technology, which uses a parameter server and multiple clients to train a model collaboratively, is an excellent method to solve this problem. However, it needs much communication between different devices with limited communication resources. The stale synchronous parallel method is a mainstream communication method to solve this problem, but it always leads to high synchronization delay and low computing efficiency as the inappropriate delay threshold value set by the user based on experience. This paper proposes a synchronous parallel method with parameters communication prediction for distributed machine learning. It predicts the optimal timing for synchronization, which can solve the problem of long synchronization waiting time caused by the inappropriate threshold settings in the stale synchronous parallel method. Moreover, it allows fast nodes to continue local training while performing global synchronization, which can improve the resource utilization of work nodes. Experimental results show that compared with the delayed synchronous parallel method, the training time and quality, and resource usage of our method are both significantly improved. © ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.

The evaluation of regional geological hazard susceptibility is of great significance to the prevention and control of geological hazard. In this paper, the "4-20"Lushan earthquake disaster area as the research area, combined with GIS and characteristics of the research area, through correlation analysis, selected 9 influencing factors as the evaluation factors. The study was conducted using a weighted information volume-logistic regression model (WI-LR). The results were classified into five sensitivity levels: very low, low, medium, high and very high. The results show that the landslide prone areas in Lushan County are concentrated in the area below the middle of the county seat, mostly near rivers, faults and areas with peak acceleration greater than 0.4. Among them, WI-LR model (AUC=0.918) > deterministic factor model (CF =0.908) > weighted information quantity model (WI) (AUC=0.896) > information quantity model I (AUC=0.853) > information quantity logistic regression model I-LR (AUC=0.799). It indicates that WI-LR model has high evaluation accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Visual relationship detection aims to predict the relationships between detected object pairs. It is well believed that the correlations between image components (i.e., objects and relationships between objects) are significant considerations when predicting objects' relationships. However, most current visual relationship detection methods only exploited the correlations among objects, and the correlations among objects' relationships remained underexplored. This paper proposes a relationship graph learning network (RGLN) to explore the correlations among objects' relationships for visual relationship detection. Specifically, RGLN obtains image objects using an object detector, and then, every pair of objects constitutes a relationship proposal. All relationship proposals construct a relationship graph, in which the proposals are treated as nodes. Accordingly, RGLN designs bi-stream graph attention subnetworks to detect relationship proposals, in which one graph attention subnetwork analyzes correlations among relationships based on visual and spatial information, and the other analyzes correlations based on semantic and spatial information. Besides, RGLN exploits a relationship selection subnetwork to ignore redundant information of object pairs with no relationships. We conduct extensive experiments on two public datasets: the VRD and the VG datasets. The experimental results compared with the state-of-the-art demonstrate the competitiveness of RGLN. © 2021 ACM.

The Fortran programming language is widely utilized in numerical computation and scientific computing. Fortran programs are prone to potential runtime errors related to numerical properties due to the large number of numerical operations. In this paper, we present F-IKOS, an abstract interpretation-based static analyzer for Fortran programs on top of IKOS, which soundly handles floating-point types in Fortran programs. Firstly, we translate Fortran programs to LLVM IR using compiler front-end Flang. After that, we extend IKOS to support sound floating-point analysis and then employ it to analyze the translated LLVM IR. Particularly, when analyzing floating-point types in programs, we first abstract floating-point expressions into real-number expressions with interval coefficients, and then linearize these expressions into real-number expressions with scalar coefficients. These linear expressions are subsequently handled by abstract domains originally designed for real-number types to produce sound analysis results. We have conducted experiments on representative Fortran programs to show the efficiency and effectiveness of F-IKOS. The experimental results are encouraging: F-IKOS soundly analyzes runtime errors in complex programs, outperforming other analyzers. © 2024 Copyright for this paper by its authors. The SARS-CoV-2 main protease (Mpro) plays an important role in the viral transcription and replication of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that is causing the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide. Therefore, it represents a very attractive target for drug development for treatment of this disease. It is a cysteine protease because it has in the active site the catalytic dyad composed of cysteine (C145) and histidine (H41). The catalytic site represents the binding site for inhibitors, many of them bind to Mpro with a covalent bond. In this research, structural and physiochemical characteristics of the Mpro binding site are investigated when the ligand 11a is covalently and non-covalently bound. All-atom molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were run for 500 ns at physiological temperature (310 K). It is found that conformations of both the Mpro protein and the ligand are stable during the simulation with covalently bound complex showing stronger stability. When the ligand is covalently bound (its final state), residues that stably interact with the ligand are H41, C145, H163, H164 and E166. The optimal conformation of these residues is stabilized also via the Hbond interactions with the catalytic water present in the Mpro binding site. In the case of the non-covalently bound ligand (state before the covalent bond is formed), the binding site residues retain their conformations similar to the covalent binding site, and they still form Hbonds with the catalytic water, except H41. This residue, instead, adopts a different conformation and looses the Hbond with the catalytic water, leaving more freedom to move to the ligand. We hypothesize that H41 could play a role in guiding the ligand to the optimal position for final covalent bonding. Further analyses are in process to check this hypothesis. These results represent an important basis for studying drug candidates against SARS-CoV-2 by means of computer aided drug design. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

With the increasing role of distributed message systems (DMS) represented by Kafka in handling large-scale data streams, it is critical to improve system performance by optimizing configuration parameters in different production environments. Due to the target system possessing numerous configuration parameters and the complex interactions between them, parameter optimization becomes a complex and time-consuming process that relies heavily on human effort and an iterative trial-and-error approach. At present, this type of configuration parameter problem has been classified as the Configuration of Distributed Message systems (CDMS) problem, for which the goal is to obtain the optimal set of parameters for achieving the best performance. In order to deal with this complex problem, an automatic optimization method is proposed in this paper, which combines an automatic script-based deployment and running framework with an improved Genetic Algorithm (GA) in cooperation with the Random Forest (RF) and statistical methods, named the Directional-Mutation Genetic Algorithm (DMGA). The framework and algorithm are designed to find the best configuration efficiently, obtaining optimal parameters accurately without human supervision. Actual results of comparison experiments based on the Kafka system show that the DMGA algorithm significantly improves the data throughput performance of Kafka, and its optimization speed is more efficient than the basic GA, highlighting its potential to quickly optimize Kafka's operational efficiency in different scenarios.
