Utilizing high-resolution antenna arrays and wide bandwidth of the millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum in 5G new radio (NR) mmWave communication systems holds the potential for high-throughput data transmission while enabling user localization and environmental mapping. However, the majority of existing simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) algorithms rely on methods akin to the extended Kalman filter for generating initial map features. These methods prove ineffective when the measurement dimension is insufficient. Furthermore, there is a notable absence of research exploring mmWave prototype systems to evaluate and compare the performance and viability of various SLAM algorithms. To address these challenges, we propose an innovative probability hypothesis density (PHD) generation scheme for birth events and have developed a prototype system. Our approach, referred to as PHD-SLAM, exhibits remarkable effectiveness even in scenarios where the measurement dimension falls short of map features. This means it can function seamlessly with only delay or angle information available. Additionally, we have designed a 28GHz mmWave beam scanning prototype system that leverages the 5G NR frame for accomplishing SLAM algorithms. Following this, we conducted extensive simulations and experimental evaluations to gauge the performance of several leading-edge SLAM algorithms under diverse mmWave circumstances, encompassing PHD-based and belief propagation (BP) SLAM algorithms. Our analysis reveals that both PHD and BP SLAM can achieve agent localization precision within a decimeter and mapping precision within a meter, capitalizing on the angle parameters of mmWave signals. While BP SLAM showcases reduced computational demand, its estimation precision is marginally inferior to that of PHD-SLAM. © 2014 IEEE.

Strict control of powder properties,especially particle size distribution(PSD),is critical in the laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)process to ensure the quality of the fabricated *** work shows that reducing the powder size could improve the ductility of LPBF fabricated *** tensile elongation increased from 4.1%to 8.8%when AlSi10Mg powder sizes(D50 value)decreased from 76μm to 16μm in the as-fabricated *** results showed that fine powder size stimulates epitaxial grain growth due to excessive *** presence of epitaxial columnar grains makes the crack path across inner melt pools more frequent and travels from the coarse melt pool zones to the fine melt pool *** work suggests that powder size is a crucial factor to be considered in maintaining repeatable mechanical properties in LPBF processes,particularly when ductility and ductility-dominated properties are critical.

This work is devoted to studying an accelerated stochastic Peaceman–Rachford splitting method(AS-PRSM)for solving a family of structural empirical risk minimization *** objective function to be optimized is the sum of a possibly nonsmooth convex function and a finite sum of smooth convex component *** smooth subproblem in AS-PRSM is solved by a stochastic gradient method using variance reduction technique and accelerated techniques,while the possibly nonsmooth subproblem is solved by introducing an indefinite proximal term to transform its solution into a proximity *** a proper choice for the involved parameters,we show that AS-PRSM converges in a sublinear convergence rate measured by the function value residual and constraint violation in the sense of expectation and *** experiments on testing the popular graph-guided fused lasso problem in machine learning and the 3D CT reconstruction problem in medical image processing show that the proposed AS-PRSM is very efficient.

The use of metal-organic frameworks(MOFs)as solid adsorption materials for carbon capture is promising,but achieving efficient and reversible adsorption with a balance of capacity and selectivity for carbon dioxide(CO_(2))over N_(2) remains a *** take full advantage of the strong channel traffic and robustness of MOFs with relatively small pores,it is highly necessary to employ a defect-engineering strategy to construct a broader channel structure that can facilitate the loading of functional motif-rich amino acids(AAs).This strategy can greatly enhance the CO_(2) adsorption performance of *** this study,motif-rich amino acids are loaded into the defective and robust porous frameworks via combined defect-engineering and post-synthetic *** defective Zr/Hf-MOF-808s modified with AAs,especially for the 18 mol%4-nitroisophthalic acid,generated defective products allowing for the loading of L-serine(L-Ser).This modification resulted in a significant improvement in both the adsorption capacity(248%improvement at 298 K,100 kPa)and the selectivity of CO_(2)/N_(2) using the ideal adsorbed solution theory(IAST),with the selectivity increasing to 120.55 and 38.27 at 15 and 100 kPa,respectively,while maintaining good cycling *** functional theory(DFT)simulation,CO_(2) temperature-programmed desorption(CO_(2)-TPD),and in situ Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)were further employed to have a better understanding of the enhanced CO_(2) adsorption ***,unlike the AAs loaded pristine MOF-808s that showed the best CO_(2) adsorption capacity with the loading of short and small glycine(Gly),the broadened channel size in our work enables the loading of functional motif-rich L-serine,which brings more active binding sites,improving CO_(2) adsorption.

The rapid development of the Internet has revo-lutionized our lives, providing us with an array of convenient services. However, this revolution has also led to the problem of data overload. Personalized recommendation services have been widely recognized as an effective solution to this problem by both the industrial and academic communities. Accurate prediction of click-through rate (CTR) is a critical task in personalized recommendation systems since it can improve the user’s shopping experience, ultimately increasing revenue for the platform. To achieve accurate CTR prediction, it is crucial to capture user interests. While several methods for interest modeling exist, challenges related to user interest evolution and user behavior noise need further attention. This paper proposes a novel CTR prediction model named the Evolutionary Interest Representation Network (EIRN), which learns the evolving interest representation of users from their behaviors, profiles, and environmental attributes. In the model, we introduce an advertisement correlation graph decomposition layer and a noise filter layer to enhance and purify the user behavior representation. An interest extraction layer is designed to capture sequential correlations and common characteristics between user behaviors, representing their interests. Additionally, as user interests evolve over time and their importance changes, an attention-based interest evolution layer is designed to track the evolution of user interests. Our proposed method is validated using four public datasets and an industrial dataset, showing its superiority over existing CTR prediction methods.

In this study,we numerically investigate the droplet impact onto a thin liquid film deposited on a structured surface with square pillars and *** time evolution of crown geometry is strongly affected by the surface *** the thickness of the liquid film is larger than the structure height,the expanding speed of the crown base radius is independent of the structure ***,if the liquid film thickness is equal to the structure height,the crown base expands slower as the structure width *** structures have strong effects on the crown height and radius,and can prevent ejected filament from breaking into satellite droplets for certain *** the liquid film with the thickness equal to the pillar height,both the crown height and the radius exhibit non-monotonic behaviors as the pillar width *** exists one pillar width which produces the smallest crown height and the largest crown radius.

Plants sequester carbon through photosynthesis and provide primary productivity for the ecosystem. However, they also simultaneously consume water through transpiration, leading to a carbon-water balance relationship. Agricultural production can be regarded as a form of carbon sequestration *** the perspective of the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem, excessive water usage in food production will aggravate regional water pressure for both domestic and industrial purposes. Hence, achieving a harmonious equilibrium between carbon and water resources during the food production process is a key scientific challenge for ensuring food security and sustainability. Digital intelligence(DI) and cyber-physical-social systems(CPSS) are emerging as the new research paradigms that are causing a substantial shift in the conventional thinking and methodologies across various scientific fields, including ecological science and sustainability studies. This paper outlines our recent efforts in using advanced technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence(AI), digital twins, metaverses, and parallel intelligence to model, analyze, and manage the intricate dynamics and equilibrium among plants, carbon, and water in arid and semiarid ecosystems. It introduces the concept of the carbon-water balance and explores its management at three levels: the individual plant level, the community level, and the natural-social-economic complex ecosystem level. Additionally, we elucidate the significance of agricultural foundation models as fundamental technologies within this context. A case analysis of water usage shows that, given the limited availability of water resources in the context of the carbon-water balance, regional collaboration and optimized allocation have the potential to enhance the utilization efficiency of water resources in the river basin.
