In this paper, the problem of fault detection is addressed for networked control systems (NCSs) subject to both access constraints and random packet dropout, which to the best of our knowledge has not been considered before. Both residual generation and residual evaluation as well as false alarm computation of the designated threshold are given. First, based on a deterministic formulation, residual generation is carried out in the periodic system framework. Then, residual evaluation is achieved by making full use of the stochastic properties of the random packet dropout. Finally, performance evaluation of the designated threshold, i.e., the computation of false alarm rate, is fulfilled with the assistance of Chebyshev s inequality. simulation results are given to illustrate effectiveness of the proposed method.

The performance of a RBF neural network strongly depends on the network structure and parameters. Therefore, an algorithm that can automatically select the network configuration will be very beneficial. This paper presents a novel method where configuration of an RBF network can be learned by a hybrid training schema. Appropriate number of neural nets in the hidden layer and their coarse centers is obtained by a modified version of Rival Penalized Competitive Learning (RPCL). Then, Genetic Algorithm is applied to determine the optimal parameters including refined cluster centers, variance of Radial-Basis Function and weights. The application of proposed evolutionary RPCL-RBF networks is discussed and the result of simulation illustrate that proposed method is effective.

In order to improve the convergence speed of traditional genetic algorithm for path planning of robot, a knowledge-guided genetic algorithm is designed by introducing domain knowledge of a path planning problem into the coding of chromosome, initialization of population, genetic operators and optimization operators. The length, safety and smoothness of paths are considered simultaneously during the process of path planning. Four optimization operators, deletion, simplification, modification and smoothness operators, are used to optimize paths searched by the genetic operators. simulation results show that the proposed method can improve the ability and efficiency of genetic algorithm in solving the practical path planning problem of robot.

A novel tire pressure sensor based on the SAW resonator and the tire capacitor impedance was researched, and the sensor can measure the tire pressure wirelessly and passively according to the relation between the tire pressure and the tire capacitor impedance and the relation between the tire capacitor impedance and the resonant frequency of the sensor circuit. The novel sensor structure was introduced, and four L type, five T type and five π type sensor circuit structures were analyzed and their frequency characteristics were simulated. The simulation results show that the T1~T5, π1, π2, π4 and π5 type sensor circuit structures are suitable for the tire pressure sensor, and the performance of the T3 type sensor circuit structure is the best among them. The sensitivities of the sensor were calculated and the best sensor circuit was designed according to the simulation and analysis results.

This paper presents a new concept of linearization of switched nonlinear systems, called modal feedback linearization. The aim is to transform a switched nonlinear system into an equivalent controllable switched linear system. First, we define the notion of modal state feedback linearization.
