The infrared images processing method based on the lateral inhibition network has disadvantages like losing some details of the target or adding noise. Another problem is the parameter of lateral inhibition cannot be chosen adaptively. In the area of infrared guidance, these problems could increase possibility of misrecognition, and lower accuracy of hitting targets. In this paper, we review the theory behind the registration and reconstruction algorithms and their limitations. Because Exponential Function has no parameter to set, this study proposes a method that replaces Gauss Function with Exponential Function to solve the problem of details losing and adaptively image processing. Additionally a method is proposed to remove noise in infrared binary image according to analysis of the neighborhood pixels values of noise point. The results indicate that the method is effective and feasible. © 2012 Huazhong Univ of Sci & Tec.

The basic concepts and development of smart grid is described. The influence of large capacity wind farm interconnected on the smart grid is analyzed particularly, following contents are emphatically presented: model of wind farm, basic operation performance, output forecasting of wind farm, power flow in smart grid including wind farm, balance of voltage and raeactive power, small disturbance stability, transient stability, faults and reliability, etc., in the hope of offering references for the fast development of smart grids absorbing more capacity of wind power.

Design and realization of a polarized laser fuze without blind area

In traditional pulsed laser fuze systems, the emission and receiving optical systems are independent, causing a blind area, and they have little capacity to resist cloud and interference. To solve these problems, a polarized laser fuze without blind area was designed based on the polarized property of laser. For the new laser fuze, a polarized beam splitter was used to realize a mode in which the emitter and receiver use the same aperture. At the same time, its anti-interference capacity was improved by using a nanosecond laser as emitting source. An experimental system was established, in which 1064 nm polarized laser with pulse duration of 1 ns was used, and a photodetector was used as the receiver. The echo characteristics of different objects within the range of 1 m were obtained.

Using simulation test method to evaluate the performance of fuze is very helpful to reduce the cost of fuze and also speeds up the fuze research and development. Equivalence of simulation test method and real artillery launch test is a criterion to decide whether the test results are reliable. Fuze inertia arming device is taken as an example. Firstly, an equivalence criterion was proposed according to its working principle. Secondly, a mathematical model of fuze inertia arming device was established. Thirdly, a software simulation of the dynamic response of fuze inertia arming device in a series of simulated artillery launch environments and the real artillery launch environment were accomplished. At last, the simulation data analysis proved the feasibility of equivalence.

A vehicle yaw stability controller is proposed to make vehicle yaw stable in critical cornering manoeuvres in the paper. Considering vehicle body dynamics, wheel dynamics and tire nonlinear characteristics, a discrete nonlinear time-varying model is firstly constructed, with disturbances standing for tire/road forces estimation error and unmodelled dynamics. Then, the controller is proposed based on sliding mode control in backstepping control framework, in which the control input is calculated step-by-step. The stability of the system is analyzed through input-to-state stability (ISS) theory. Finally, a group of simulations is carried out with a multi-body vehicle dynamics software to evaluate the controller and the results indicate that it can maintain vehicle stable in critical cornering situation.

In this paper, a compact triple-band handset antenna (THA) and its three element array are presented for dual-mode user equipment (UE) applications, with their structures designed and performance validated by measurement. Then, based on the obtained electromagnetic parameters, a 2×2 TD-LTE multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) UE system with UE local DCS1800 interference is studied by simulation in such a realistic manner. Under given interference power level, non-linear relation models of the LTE system throughput and the system isolations are achieved, which can be used to evaluate these system performances.

Low frequency oscillations in the interconnected power systems are observed all around the world. Besides conventional PSS to suppress Low frequency oscillation, there are other modern FACTS devices to damp oscillation, among which flywheel energy storage system (FESS) is a comparative valid way. The theory on restraining low frequency oscillation used by flywheel energy storage system is described through transfer function diagram and complex torque coefficient. A numerical model of flywheel energy storage asynchronous motor controlled by VVVF inverter is derived from its mathematical model in alpha-beta coordinate system. Then the total model eigenvalue is analyzed. Based on analysis, attach control strategy using two parallel independent parts for active power control and reactive power control is designed in FESS to restrain low frequency oscillation. The calculation result shows that flywheel energy storage system is an effective way to restrain low frequency oscillation and enhance power system dynamic performance.

This paper presents an identification method based on the iterative Prony to identify transfer function and configure PSS parameters using residue way. The iterative Prony is a very useful method to acquire power system oscillation modes, by which the system eigenvalue, oscillation frequency, amplitude, damping and relative phase can be directly estimated using the response of given input signals. Considering the influence of input signal on output signal, the iterative Prony can acquire the transfer function of power system, then, according to the corresponding residues we conducted coordinated setting of power system stabilizer (PSS) by residue method. The simulation results for two testing system examples prove that this proposal method is effective in the power system oscillation mode analysis and parameters determination of PSS, can improve eigenvalues of system and can enhance system damping after PSSs whose parameters are optimized by above method are built into power system. © 2005 IEEE.

This paper presents a new approach for Environmental/Economic transaction planning model of the electricity market. The Environmental/Economic transaction planning problem is formulated as a multi-objective optimal power flow (MOPF) problem. A novel algorithm using multiobjective Particle Swarm Optimization (MOPSO) and non-stationary multi-stage assignment penalty function is proposed to solve this problem. PSO is modified by using dynamic neighborhood strategy, new particle memory updating, and one-dimension optimization to deal with multiple objectives. Incorporating of non-stationary multi-stage assignment penalty function in solving OPF problem can improve the convergence. The proposed method is demonstrated on the IEEE 30-bus system. The results show that the proposed approach can efficiently gain multiple pareto optimal transaction planning that match with the sustainable development strategy. © 2000 IEEE.
