Blind restoration of turbulence degraded images based on two-channel alternating minimization algorithm

Due to the atmospheric turbulence and the system noise, images are blurred in the astronomical or space object detection. Wavefront aberrations and system noise make the capability of detecting objects decrease greatly. A two-channel image restoration method based on alternating minimization is proposed to restore the turbulence degraded images. The images at different times are regarded as separate channels, then the object and the point spread function(PSF) are reconstructed in an alternative way. There are two optimization parameters in the algorithm: the object and the PSF. Each optimization step is transformed into a constraint problem by variable splitting and processed by the augmented Lagrangian method. The results of simulation and actual experiment verify that the two-channel image restoration method can always converge rapidly within five iterations, and values of normalized root mean square error(NRMSE) remain below 3% after five iterations. Standard deviation data show that optimized alternating minimization(OAM) has strong stability and adaptability to different turbulent levels and noise levels. Restored images are approximate to the ideal imaging by visual assessment, even though atmospheric turbulence and systemnoise have a strong impact on imaging. Additionally, the method can remove noise effectively during the process of image restoration.

Currently, as the resolution of sensors such as radar continues to improve, the signal bandwidth is rapidly increasing. There is a growing demand for higher sampling rates and data transmission rates in Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs). However, the parallel transmission commonly used in ADCs faces issues such as high crosstalk and difficulties in transmission synchronization. In response to this problem, this paper proposes a method for the design and implementation of a high-speed serial data transmission interface based on JESD204B. Specifically, it utilizes Xilinx's ZYNQ-7 series FPGA and ADC as the core components and presents clock synchronization design, ADC circuit design, and FPGA 204B IP design methods. Experimental testing was conducted using selected link parameters (LMFS=4222) as an example. The experimental results demonstrate that correct JESD204B interface data transmission for four channels was achieved at a data rate of 10 Gbps, thus validating the feasibility of the proposed high-speed transmission link design based on JESD204B in this paper.

The data rate of high-performance airborne sensors is much higher than the wireless data transfer rate in many detection applications, so the onboard data storage systems are usually used to store the sensor data. There is a problem in the onboard data storage that the frequency of address jumps among incontinuous areas is very high due to the high data updating frequency of the FAT (File Allocation Table) and FDT (File Directory Table), which would significantly reduce the data storage speed. This is because the most widely used NAND (Not And) flash has a long response time when storing the data in the incontinuous areas. In order to solve the problem, a called medium fusion storage method, which uses multiple mediums time sharing to store the data of file areas and data region, is proposed in this study. The performance of the proposed method is tested on an actual data storage system of the airborne sensor. The experimental results show that medium fusion storage method significantly reduces the data updating frequency of the FAT and FDT in the data storage, and the response time is negligible compared with the actual data writing time.

In order to decrease the vulnerability of ground support aircraft under fragment/projectile attack, a vulnerability model of a ground support aircraft was established, and the vulnerability of the ground support aircraft in the typical attack direction was calculated. According to the geometric shape of the ground support aircraft and the distribution of critical components, the ground support aircraft is divided into different areas, and the armor protection efficiency of each area is assessed. The results show that the cockpit area, the front fuselage fuel tank area, and the rear fuselage fuel tank area have high protection efficiency, and these areas can be protected first when the armor weight is limited. On this basis, flexible use of vulnerability reduction measures, targeted reduction of highly vulnerable components, and repeated iterative analysis to achieve vulnerability index requirements are performed. Finally, a numerical simulation test was carried out on the A-10 ground support aircraft. After the vulnerability was reduced, the index design requirements were met under the B and C level kills, which verified the feasibility of the proposed method. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Images captured under different exposure conditions may contain both over- and under-exposures. Existing methods mainly focus on addressing over- or under-exposure problem in images. In this paper, we introduce an effective Region-aware Half Wavelet Attention Exposure Correction Network (RHECNet). Specifically, we introduce a region-based feature extraction module that effectively converts the region features in the mixed exposure scene into feature space, which is invariant to exposure. Besides, as incorrect exposure inevitably reduces structure information, we introduce an attention restoration block based on wavelet domain features. It combines exposure-invariant features with those extracted from the wavelet domain to restore structural information. RHECNet has competitive performance results on two image exposure Correction datasets in terms of quantitative metrics and visual quality. © 2024 IEEE.

In the problem of collaborative situational awareness, the single sensor inevitably has random errors, systematic errors, false alarms, and missed alarms. To improve the accuracy of target association in the above cases, this paper proposes an anti-bias target association method based on the Laplacian spectrum and Kuhn-Munkres (KM) algorithm. The main contributions of the paper include addressing the coupling problem between system error calibration and target association through two stages, focusing on the structural characteristics of the target formation in the first stage and the absolute position of the target itself in the second stage. The algorithm takes into account both factors and achieves accurate association under complex errors. The test results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively improves the accuracy of anti-bias target association. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological Information Institute 2024.

A magneto-quasi-static (MQS) surface integral equation (SIE) formulation with loop analysis is proposed to extract the impedance of interconnects in packages. The loop analysis is developed with an independent and complete set of unknowns according to the graph theory, which can significantly reduce the dimension of the final matrix. With the pre-corrected fast Fourier Transform (pFFT), large-scale interconnects can be efficiently modelled. A practical example in packages is carried out to validate the effectiveness and scalability of the proposed formulation. Results show that the proposed formulation is accurate and flexible to model complex interconnects in packages compared with the industrial solver. © 2023 IEEE.

The phase-coding method is widely used during 3D measurement for attaining absolute phase retrieval. However, traditional the phase-coding method still suffers from low accuracy and insufficient reliability. To address these issues, a phase-shifting segmented phase coding method was proposed in this work for absolute phase retrieval in complex object measurements, which specifically improved upon the segmented method of phase coding. Coding patterns with different phase-shifting were obtained by embedding the codeword into the phase-shifting phase. These patterns were also combined and arranged to create novel segmented coding patterns. In addition, this segmented encoding can be self-connected based on its different phase-shifting information to obtain the complete fringe order, achieving thus absolute phase retrieval of over 36 codewords. To solve the problem of the periodic misalignment of the wrapped phase and fringe order, the complementary phase coding method was encoded by the bidirectional coding method, and the separation method of the bidirectional coding was improved. From experimental results, it was demonstrated that the proposed method has high measurement accuracy and reliability. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In order to solve the autonomous path planning problem with terrain aided navigation constraints, a navigation-first path planning method was adopted, that is, the distribution of terrain matching regions and the drift of navigation errors were given priority, and the path planning problem was transformed into the shortest path problem of single source directed graph to determine the nodes on the path. Secondly, the path planning between adjacent nodes is transformed into a path planning problem with initial direction constraint and terminal direction freedom/constraint, and the lateral path is smoothed. Finally, for the local path passing through the no-fly zone, the obstacle avoidance path planning with initial and terminal direction constraints is carried out based on convex optimization method. The simulation results show that the autonomous path planning method considering terrain aided navigation constraints can plan the shortest flight path under the constraints of navigation accuracy, maneuverability and no-fly zone. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to solve the power supply problem of the fuze on the small-caliber projectile and improve the reliability of the fuze power supply, a miniaturized fuze turbine permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is designed in this paper, which is a physical power supply driven by wind. In order to improve the electromagnetic performance of the design schemes, this paper proposes a methodology based on dimensional parameters optimization, optimizes the design parameters based on the Rotational Motor Expert (RMxprt) module, and then conducts electromagnetic performance analysis based on the Maxwell 2D module. Finally, according to the performance parameters, the scheme with 6-pole 9-slot mode is selected among the two schemes with different pole-to-slot ratio, its load line voltage is 21.53 V, and the rated load output power is 47.15 W, which meets the design requirements. © 2023 IEEE.
