Image stitching plays an important role in the field of computer vision and image processing. Although some sophisticated stitching methods have been proposed, they are usually time-consuming. Because many application scenarios, such as video surveillance, need quick image stitching to provide a wide field of view, accelerating the image stitching is critical. In recent years, the neural network is used to stitching images, but only relatively small size images can be processed;meanwhile, time-consuming image stitching is also unavoidable. In this paper, to quickly stitch 1920×1080 images generated by the dual camera system, an image stitching algorithm is proposed. We divided the algorithm depending on its timeliness on different steps, and its time-consuming steps are parallelized on Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) platforms to be accelerated. We tested different hierarchies for organization of threads and access of memory on compute unified device architecture (CUDA) programming, and the final experiment results showed that our algorithm could reach a speedup ratio up to 119x on the Desktop with 3080ti. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to improve the recognition accuracy of small infrared targets in complex environment, a SyluInfrared dataset is built by taking multi-view infrared images with the Frock TiX600 infrared thermal imager. Seven image enhancement algorithms including image brightening, contrast adjustment, image blurring, image flipping and image scaling are designed to improve the image quality of small infrared targets. The YOLOv5 deep learning model is used to identify small infrared targets with multiple views to improve the recognition accuracy of small infrared targets. The experimental results show that the accuracy of multi-view infrared small target recognition model for YOLOv5 deep network is 97.7%, which is 6.6% higher than that of single-view infrared small target recognition model based on YOLOv5. The multi-view target recognition strategy significantly improves the infrared small target recognition performance. © 2022 IEEE.

In this paper, we focus on the problem of the infrared image detection. Aiming at the problem of the low contrast of the infrared images, an adaptive gamma transformation algorithm (AGT) is established to intelligently improve the contrast of the infrared images. Aiming at the problem of the weak edge information of the infrared images, an improved Sobel operator edge enhancement algorithm (ISOEE) is designed to enrich the edge features of the infrared images. In order to solve the problem that the traditional infrared image detection algorithm relies on expert experience, the fusion infrared images detection model AIE-Mask R-CNN based on Mask R-CNN, AGT algorithm and ISOEE algorithm is proposed. This fusion model can realize accurate and intelligent detection for the infrared images. The experimental results show that the fusion model AIE-Mask R-CNN improves the detection accuracy of the infrared images. © 2022 IEEE.

We proposed a Ho:GdVO4 laser operating at 2.05 µm which was directly in-band dual-end-pumped by a pair of 1.94 μm fiber-coupled laser diodes (LD). A Ho:GdVO4 crystal with doping of 1.0 at.% was used as the gain medium. In continuous-wave (CW) mode, we obtained the maximum output power of 6.5 W at 2047.9 nm with the absorbed pump power of 28 W, corresponding to a slope efficiency of 37.6 %. By using an LGS crystal as the electro-optical Q-switch, the highest peak power of 773.8 kW was obtained at a pulse repetition frequency (PRF) of 1 kHz, corresponding to a maximum pulse energy of 3.25 mJ and a pulse width of 4.2ns. © 2023 SPIE.

Global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) are widely used in most civil and military applications. However, GNSS receivers suffer from severe performance degradation when jammed by electromagnetic interference. This paper considers the mitigation problem of non-stationary jammings with missing samples for GNSS. We propose to reconstruct the interference by sparse representation utilizing the sparsity of jammings in the time-frequency (TF) domain. The GNSS signal is recovered by eliminating the reconstructed interference from the received signal. First, the instantaneous frequencies (IFs) of jammings are extracted from adaptive directional TF distributions. Then, we construct the over-complete atomic dictionary based on the estimated IFs. The interference is reconstructed by orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm. The proposed method can achieve the mitigation of non-stationary jamming and the acquisition of GNSS signals in the presence of missing samples. We confirm the effectiveness of the algorithm by simulations. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper studies a method of detecting the position of crankshaft flange hole group based on vision measurement, and sets up the position detection system of crankshaft flange hole group. The relative measurement model of hole group position is established by using the standard crankshaft information, and the system calibration method is studied. In this paper, a multi-camera calibration method based on polynomial fitting two-dimensional image mapping model is adopted. In addition, the image processing technology of hole group is studied. The improved Canny edge detection method is used to extract the contour of the hole group. Redundant edge filtering algorithm is used to eliminate unreliable edges. Then use the gradient interpolation method to extract sub-pixel edges. The measurement results show that the single-direction measurement error of the central coordinate of the crankshaft flange hole group is less than 0.07mm, and the repeatability error is less than 0.009mm, which provides a basis for the realization of industrial online efficient detection. © 2022 SPIE

Conventional ultrashort pulsewidth measurement technology is autocorrelation based on second-harmonic generation;however,nonlinear crystals and bulky components are required,which usually leads to the limited wavelength range and the difficult adjustment with free-space light ***,we proposed a compact all-fiber pulsewidth measurement technology based on the interference jitter(IJ)and field-programmable gate array(FPGA)platform,without requiring a nonlinear optical device(*** crystal/detector).Such a technology shows a wide measurement waveband from 1 to 2.15μm at least,a pulsewidth range from femtoseconds to 100 ps,and a small relative error of 0.15%-3.8%.In particular,a minimum pulse energy of 219 fj is experimentally detected with an average-power-peak-power product of 1.065×10^(-6)W^(2).The IJ-FPGA technology may offer a new route for miniaturized,user-friendly,and broadband pulsewidth measurement.

If Toeplitz matrix is used for compression-aware ghost imaging, the imaging quality will be very low. In order to solve the problem, a new experimental scheme for ghost imaging is proposed in this paper. The scheme first extracts the Toeplitz matrix elements randomly and sparsely using a revolving matrix, and then modulates the illumination light field. The sampling is performed by using the Toeplitz matrix as a fixed matrix and another measurement matrix as a revolving matrix. The revolving matrix rotates around its center at a constant angular velocity. The fixed Toeplitz matrix is superimposed with the revolving matrix to form the optical field modulation matrix. The results of simulation experiments show that light field modulation scheme of the rotational random extraction of Toeplitz matrix can modulate the light field with more randomness. The use of this scheme in ghost imaging experiments results in high quality images with low distortion. © 2023 SPIE. All rights reserved.

Spatiotemporal optical vortices generation in the green and ultraviolet via frequency upconversion[Invited]

As a newly discovered type of structured light,a spatiotemporal optical vortex(STOV),which is remarkable for its space–time spiral phase and transverse orbital angular momentum(OAM),has garnered substantial *** previous studies have focused on the generation,characterization,and propagation of STOVs,but their nonlinear frequency conversion remains largely ***,we experimentally demonstrate the generation of green and ultraviolet(UV)STOVs by frequency upconversion of a STOV carried near-infrared(NIR)pulse emitted by a high repetition rate Yb-doped fiber laser amplifier ***,we verify that the topological charge of spatiotemporal OAM(ST-OAM)is doubled along with the optical frequency in the second-harmonic generation(SHG)process,which is visualized by the diffraction patterns of the STOVs in the fundamental and second-harmonic ***,the space–time characteristic of NIR STOV is successfully mapped to UV STOV by sum-frequency mixing STOV at 1037 nm and Gaussian beams in the green ***,we observe the topological charges of the ST-OAM could be degraded owing to strong space–time coupling and complex spatiotemporal astigmatism of such *** results not only deepen our understanding of nonlinear manipulation of STOAM spectra and the generation of STOVs at a new shorter wavelength,but also may promote new applications in both classical and quantum optics.
