We present a scheme for estimating the noise-equivalent temperature difference(NETD)of frequency upconversion detectors(UCDs)that detect mid-infrared(MIR)*** particular,we investigate the frequency upconversion of a periodically poled crystal based on lithium niobate,where an MIR conversion bandwidth of 220 nm can be achieved in a single-poled period by a special ***,for an MIR radiating target at a temperature of 95℃,the NETD of the device was estimated to be 56 mK with an exposure time of 1 ***,a direct measurement of the NETD was performed utilizing conventional methods,which resulted in 48 *** also compared the NETD of our UCD with commercially available direct MIR *** show that the limiting factor for further NETD reduction of our device is not primarily from the upconversion process and camera noise but from the limitations of the heat source and laser *** detectors have good temperature measurement performance and can be used for a variety of applications involving temperature object identification and material structure detection.

Knowledge distillation is a kind of model compression methods. It improves the performance of "student" networks by transferring the knowledge of "teacher" to "student". However, due to the huge gap between "teacher" and "student" in knowledge representation capabilities, directly minimizing the difference between them to transfer the knowledge will lead to the convergence issue. To this end, this paper proposes a novel framework of knowledge distillation. By sharing the weights of "teacher" and "student" in fully connected layers, we reduce the challenge of knowledge transfer. Furthermore, we propose a novel training strategy to improve the performance of low-bit quantization networks based on our distillation framework called distillation for low-bit quantization (DLBQ). The experimental results show that our methods can achieve significant improvement across different tasks. For instance, ResNet-20 gains 1.81% improvement on Cifar10 dataset. ResNet-56 shows 3.36% improvement on Cifar100 dataset and even exhibits 1.72% performance improvement than"teacher" network. Additionally, as for the improvements of quantization performance, ResNet-20 gain 1.25% improvement with ternary weights on Cifar10, and ResNet-110 manifects 3.22% improvement with binary weights on Cifar100 dataset. © 2021 IEEE

Infrared image processing is a conventional topic, but the hardware design and implementation for infrared image processing algorithms are full of challanges, especially for special purpose infrared detectors which have customized interfaces and protocols. Moreover, some customized infrared detectors only generate the infrared image with very poor quality. Therefore, in this paper, we design and implement an infrared image preprocessing system based on FPGA for customized infrared detectors. We propose a hardware architecture that includes the whole process from the input of detector, image processing, to final infrared video stream output and display. Our hardware architecture is able to adapt to different customized infrared detectors, which has the characteristics of real-time, low-power, dynamic parameter configuration, high processing efficiency and stable imaging effect. We have implemented it on Xilinx FPGA. The infrared imaging effect is significantly improved with limited FPGA resources (about only 1.6M LUT, 420 BRAM for all algorithm models on Xilinx zc706 evaluation board), the image processing speed can reach to 225Hz with the resolution of 320*256. Our preprocessing system can generate real-time video for display with 1920*1080@60Hz. © 2021 IEEE

An enhanced approach utilizing APF(artificial potential field) method is introduced in this paper. By adopting this approach, the challenge of local minima that may occur when dealing with local path planning for unmanned vehicles is tackled. When the unmanned vehicle approaches an obstacle, a virtual attractive potential field is implemented, utilizing the deviation in the heading angle of the vehicle to control the steering angle. Consequently, the vehicle can avoid obstacles, resolving the issue of local minima and enabling its application in path planning for multi-unmanned vehicles. The ROS with Gazebo simulation platform is used to verify the enhanced algorithm’s effectiveness in multi-unmanned vehicle path planning in an unknown environment. © Beijing HIWING Scientific and Technological information Institute 2024.

Dynamic reconfiguration is critical to improving safety of the flight, minimizing application loss, and balancing partition load. Reconfiguration optimization is a promising way to achieve superior flight safety because of the finite system resource and random failure. To optimize the reconfiguration strategy, we propose a deep reinforcement learning algorithm. The problem is formulated as a Markov decision process with five-tuple, and solved by our proposed deep deterministic policy gradient algorithm. The simulation result shows that our proposed algorithm outperforms the Actor-Critic algorithm and optimized reconfiguration strategy not only restores successfully the system application when failure occurs, but also balances the partition load, further improving the system security. © 2023 IEEE.

Vehicle platoon is one of the concrete manifestations of multi-vehicle cooperative control and intelligent transportation. However, the velocity perturbation in the driving process will bring about stability and safety problems. The connected autonomous vehicles (CAVs) can obtain the motion status of the lead vehicle in real time and respond to it in time, which is of far-reaching significance to platoon control. Based on this, this paper focuses on the longitudinal driving strategy of connected autonomous vehicle platoons. Specifically, we provide a discrete double-integral model controller for each vehicle in a generic scenario, and the controller performs acceleration and deceleration control at each timeslot according to the state of the vehicle in front and its own state. Simulation experiments are designed by varying the size of the platoon and the number of connected autonomous vehicles. The experimental results show that the introduction of connected autonomous vehicles can effectively suppress the platoon velocity perturbation, increase the stability of the platoon driving, and significantly reduce the fuel consumption at the same time. © 2023 IEEE.

Strict air pollution control measures were conducted during the Youth Olympic Games(YOG)period at Nanjing city and surrounding areas in August *** event provides a unique chance to evaluate the effect of government control measures on regional atmospheric pollution and greenhouse gas *** previous studies have observed significant reductions of atmospheric pollution species and improvement in air quality,while no study has quantified its synergism on anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions,which can be coreduced with air *** better understand to what extent these pollution control measures have reduced anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions,we conducted atmospheric CO_(2)measurements at the suburban site in Nanjing city from 1^(st) July to 30^(th) September 2014 and 1^(st) August to 31^(st) August 2015,obvious decrease in atmospheric CO_(2)was observed between YOG and the rest *** coupling the a prioriemission inventory with atmospheric transport model,we applied the scale factor Bayesian inversion approach to derive the posteriori CO_(2)emissions in YOG period and regular *** indicate CO_(2)emissions from power industry decreased by 45%,and other categories also decreased by 16%for manufacturing combusting,and 37%for non-metallic mineral *** total anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions were 9.8(±3.6)×10^(9) kg/month CO_(2) for regular period and decreased to 6.2(±1.9)×10^(9) kg/month during the YOG period in Nanjing city,with a 36.7%*** scaling up to whole Jiangsu Province,anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions were 7.1(±2.4)×10^(10) kg/month CO_(2)for regular period and decreased to 4.4(±1.2)×10^(10)kg/month CO_(2) during the YOG period,yielding a 38.0%reduction.
