UAV maneuvering decision-making algorithm based on deep reinforcement learning under the guidance of expert experience

Autonomous umanned aerial vehicle(UAV) manipulation is necessary for the defense department to execute tactical missions given by commanders in the future unmanned battlefield. A large amount of research has been devoted to improving the autonomous decision-making ability of UAV in an interactive environment, where finding the optimal maneuvering decisionmaking policy became one of the key issues for enabling the intelligence of UAV. In this paper, we propose a maneuvering decision-making algorithm for autonomous air-delivery based on deep reinforcement learning under the guidance of expert experience. Specifically, we refine the guidance towards area and guidance towards specific point tasks for the air-delivery process based on the traditional air-to-surface fire control ***, we construct the UAV maneuvering decision-making model based on Markov decision processes(MDPs). Specifically, we present a reward shaping method for the guidance towards area and guidance towards specific point tasks using potential-based function and expert-guided advice. The proposed algorithm could accelerate the convergence of the maneuvering decision-making policy and increase the stability of the policy in terms of the output during the later stage of training process. The effectiveness of the proposed maneuvering decision-making policy is illustrated by the curves of training parameters and extensive experimental results for testing the trained policy.

In order to realize the miniaturization and low cost of infrared/laser dual-mode seeker imaging system and simplify the optical system structure, a transmission/reflection common aperture infrared/laser composite seeker optical system is designed. Firstly, the structure, overall scheme and working principle of the system are studied. The optical system uses the common aperture design at the front, and the infrared and laser signals are separated by the spectroscope at the backend to enter the respective detectors[1]. The whole optical system shares the same receiving aperture, the structure is compact, and meets the requirements of miniaturization of the seeker. The system can not only meet the requirements of large field of view in the target searching stage, but also meet the requirements of accurate recognition and tracking of the target. Based on the design metrics and parameters, the infrared optical system and laser optical system are designed and analyzed respectively. Through the analysis of action distance, the aperture and focal length of infrared and semi-active laser subsystems are designed. Simulation results show that the transfer function MTF and optical transmittance of the infrared optical system meet the design requirements, and the spot energy, linear region and optical transmittance of the semi-active laser subsystem meet the requirements. © 2024 SPIE.

In the traditional coaxial infrared television optical system, the central aperture of the infrared imaging system will be blocked by the television imaging system, which will cause obvious loss of luminous flux and decrease of diffraction *** television imaging system is in the infrared channel, the infrared and television system size, configuration, performance, assembly will affect each other, which increases the design and assembly difficulty, as well as processing assembly and maintenance *** this paper, an off-axis infrared television composite optical system is designed. The infrared and television systems are decoupled from each other without interference. Two tilt lenses are added in front of the lens to correct the aberration of the television. The results show that the performance of off-axis infrared television composite optical system is better than that coaxial infrared television composite optical system. © 2024 SPIE.

High strength and deformation stability achieved in CrCoNi alloy containing deformable oxides

Hard secondary phases usually strengthen alloys at the expense of *** this work,we made a dual-phase CrCoNi-O alloy containing a face centered cubic matrix and chromium *** one side,the dispersed chromium oxide nano-particles impeded dislocation movement and increased the strength of the *** another side,the spreading lattice distortion in CrCoNi-O high entropy solution locally relieved the severe interfacial mismatch and led to nanoscale variation of interfacial strain at the matrix-oxide interface,which facilitated dislocations’transmission from one phase to ***,unlike the strong but brittle oxide nanoparticles used before,the oxide phase here can afford significant dislocation activities during material’s plastic *** the mechanical properties of CrCoNi-O alloys with and without chromium oxide particles,it was found that the yield strength of the dual-phase samples was twice of the single phase CrCoNi-O alloy and strong strain hardening was obtained with ultra-high deformation *** density of nanotwins formed in dual-phase samples under high stress,resulting in significant strain hardening according to the well-known twinning-induced plasticity(TWIP)*** results shed light on optimizing the combination of strength and plasticity of compounds by modulating the variation of interfacial strain field based on the spreading lattice distortion.

The high lattice thermal conductivity of half-Heuslers(HHs)restricts the further enhancement of their thermoelectric figure-of-merit(ZT).In this study,multiscale scattering centers,such as point defects,dislocations,and nanoprecipitates,are synchronously introduced in a n-type ZrNiSn-based HH matrix through Nb doping and Hf *** lattice thermal conductivity is substantially decreased from 4.55(for the pristine ZrNiSn)to 1.8 W·m^(−1)·K^(−1) at 1123 K via phonon scattering over a broad wavelength range through the adjustment of multiscale *** value is close to the theoretically estimated lowest thermal *** power factor(PF)is enhanced from 3.25(for the pristine ZrNiSn)to 5.01 mW·m^(−1)·K^(−2) for Zr_(0.66)Hf_(0.30)Nb_(0.04)NiSn at 1123 K owing to the donor doping and band regulation via Nb doping and Hf *** can be ascribed to the synergistic interaction between the lowering of the lattice thermal conductivity and retention of the high ***,a ZT value of as high as 1.06 is achieved for Zr_(0.66)Hf_(0.30)Nb_(0.04)NiSn at 1123 *** work demonstrates that these actions are effective in jointly manipulating the transport of electrons and phonons,thereby improving the thermoelectric performance through defect engineering.

Specification and counterexample generation for cyber-physical systems

Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) are complex systems that integrate information control devices with physical resources, which can be automatically and formalized verified by model checking according to the expected requirements in the formal specification. The counterexamples in model checking are witnesses to the violation of the specification properties of the system and can provide important diagnostic information for debugging, controlling, and synthesizing CPS. Designing a rational specification language for CPS and generating effective counterexamples allows security vulnerabilities to be detected and addressed early in the system development. However, CPS involve frequent interactions between cyber and physical systems and often operate in unreliable environments, which poses new challenges for comprehensive modeling and designing specification languages for CPSs with discrete, continuous, time, probabilistic, and concurrent behaviors. Moreover, finding the smallest counterexample of CPS with probabilistic behavior in the shortest possible time has been identified as a Non-Deterministic Polynomial-complete (NP-complete) problem. Although a number of heuristics have been devised to address this challenge, the accuracy and efficiency of the solved counterexamples need to be improved due to the difficulty in determining the heuristic functions. We first provide a comprehensive model for CPS by introducing the Hybrid Probabilistic Time Labeled Transition System (HPTLTS). Subsequently, we design a specification language HPTLTS Temporal Logic (HPTLTS-TL) that can describe the properties of CPS. In addition, we propose an optimization algorithm CACO-A, which combines the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm and the A-algorithm to efficiently generate the counterexample of CPS, which is represented as the diagnostic subgraph. Finally, we discuss a typical CPS example to demonstrate the feasibility of our approach. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-

More requirements of electromagnetic interference(EMI) shielding performance are put forward for lightweight structural materials due to the development of aerospace and 5G communications. Herein, graphene oxide(GO) decorated with SnO_(2) coating is introduced as reinforcement into AZ31 Mg alloy. During the smelting process, the MgO layer is in situ gernerated at interface between GO and the molten Mg alloy matrix by consuming SnO_(2). In the solid state, such kind of interface structure can improve the GO-Mg interface bonding intensity,also significantly generate stacking faults. The AZ31 composite reinfoced by trace modified GO(0.1 wt%) exhibits high ultimate strength and almost the same elongation with AZ31 alloy. Compared with AZ31 alloy, the yield strength and ultimate tensile strength of composite are increased by 33.5% and 23.7%, respectively. Meanwhile, the multi-level electromagnetic reflection from the multi-layer structure of GO and the interface polarization caused by the MgO mid-layer can significantly improve EMI shielding performance. The appropriate interface design strategy achieves the effect of “two birds with one stone”.

Information dissemination in social network has gained great attention in the study of complex networks. In this paper, we propose a novel network influence maximization algorithm incorporating graph representation learning and reinforcement learning, called RL-PPO, to select a set of seed nodes as the starter nodes and by which the information can be propagated as fast as could in the network,i.e., reaching the status of influence maximization. This algorithm take the feature matrix and adjacency matrix of the network as inputs, and the seed nodes as *** better represent the network, the graph representation learning method is employed to extract network features and to perform feature aggregation. The experiment results show that, compared with the traditional greedy algorithm, the seed nodes determined by this proposed algorithm GraphPPO exhibited higher propagation efficiency. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Studying the infrared radiation characteristics of UAV is of great significance. This paper first completes the radiation calibration of the mid-wave infrared thermal imager, and then conducts multi-angle radiation characteristics tests on the ground static UAV. MODTRAN software is used to calculate the atmospheric transmittance and path radiation, and complete the inversion calculation of the UAV radiant intensity and atmospheric transmission revision. The test results show that the infrared radiation of UAV has directionality, and the radiation characteristics of UAV in the side tail direction are the strongest, which is mainly represented by engine radiation, and the radiant intensity of UAV increases significantly with the acceleration of engine speed. © 2023 SPIE.
